Hello, I am a 51 year old man who knew absoloutly nothing about fine shoes or clothing, I have learned so much and I am so inspired in refining my woredrobe, thank you so much for the education.
Amazing content Monsieur Jacomet, it's lovely to see a video that not only dislays wonderfully crafted shoes but also goes to show how amazing they look after such a long time.
I really appreciate your explanation of the sentimental value of the first two pairs. Those two craftsmen may be gone, but they will live on through their art. Beautiful shoes!
The blue shoes are a lasting tribute to a master craftsman. No access to a bespoke shoemaker where I live but I have found a very good made to measure outfit who have made me two beautiful pairs made in Spain. It was cool seeing your green shoes, the next pair I have in mind is a green suede Chelsea boot. Seeing the green suede on that shoe has now really made up my mind Very happy to hear that passing away is not in your short term plans.
Great video Hugo! I love the blue shoes especially, I just completed a bespoke shoe making course with Stefano Bemer. And I am so excited to continue make bespoke shoes for others!!
Magnificent collection Hugo, thank you for sharing your personal collection with us. Very informative and quite sincere, as always. Until our next appointment. (Im guessing we might see some of the Arcas appear). 😉
Good evening mr Jacomet Every episodes are awsome !! And when you talk about your shoes , its a great moment Im fascinate by brillantina from bontoni . I wish you have a good week-end Freindly Sofian
Very impressive collection! This type of art only awaits the right spark for people to aspire to these like they do to super sports cars. I wonder if Americans bring burgundy shoes to Europe, simply because they are a very versatile shoe? For reduced travel packing.
Well, honestly the difference between these and sports cars is that those masterpieces can only be noticed by connoisseurs (and educated gentlemen) and are absolutely not shouting "money" or "success" unlike super cars. All my best, Hugo
Huge I would LOVE to get your opinion on Hidetaka Fukuya. I am in Firenze now and went to his shop yesterday. I think if I ever get a pair from him I wouldn't even wear them, they are work of art ..almost like jewelry !! The most beautiful shoes I have seen!! Exuberantly priced of course!!!
I just adore your channel. I am a teacher earning a moderate salary but I prefer to save and have suits made to measure. (Hopefully one day bespoke!) Good shoes are very important and an investment. Your shoes are fabulous and thank you for sharing.🥀🥀
I saw your video with Shoe Snob and loved it. I believe there was a part where someone said "If you want your shoes that last, buy good shoes". That's what I tell people. If a pair of shoes cost $800 and they last you 20 years, how much is that per year? $40. If you buy cheap shoes that last you 1.5 years, that's $60 of the great shoes. What can you buy for $60 in shoes? But I also have Meermin's which I love and cost about $250 and I know they will last 20 years or more. That's only $12.50/year.... With your favorite pair.. 300 - 400 times and just got them resoled. That's incredible. Leather soles too. But then I walk on concrete lots and leather soles just get killed on that. So maybe 200 times? I've been rebuilding my wardrobe with shoes with a rubber sole just because how much I walk. I'll get leather later. Thank you for your excellent videos. Looking forward to more!
@SARTORIALTALKS my bad..I watched the entire content of the video before I asked the question. Obviously, I knew Stefano bemer passed away in 2012 because I follow Shoes Snob j fitzpatrick.. keep on inspiring us Sir.
Hello Hugo. I am currently thinking of getting my first Cothay Arca which I know is a shoe you like. I am worried though that i may not get enough "wears" on them. I don't wear suits often only maybe 2 times a year if at all. My question is if I do get the Arca can I wear them with Chinos or maybe Dark Jeans? I was thinking of getting the Arca in Lie de Vin or Ebony color. What do you think?
Dear James, Arca are stunning with any kind of denims and chinos! Lie de vin is versatile (more than Ebony). Dark brown is probably the most versatile. All my best, Hugo
Hi, I am so glad i found your channel. So many things to learn. What is your opinion about berluti shoes? Quality and price wise Thank you and all the best.
Berluti is quite unique. Not the sturdiest shoes for sure, but always very stylish. As for the price, well, you pay the style and the brand's image of course. Best, Hugo
Hi Hugo, i have been surprised by the amazing colours you have chosen as your bespoke options? How did you go through the process to select such amazing colours. I am always concerned if I were go bespoke should I be more conservative with the colour so I cane ensure I use them.
Dear Alex, I have a big shoe closet in which most of the shoes are "conservative" (black, browns, a few greys). This is why for my "masterpieces" (bespoke) I generally decide to go a little bit more daring. That's my way of doing it. All my best, Hugo
Hello Hugo! Just curious, would you ever consider another hairstyle? I do think your hair “suits “ you 😊, however the question has often crossed my mind…
Dear Adrian, because for some of them I chose curved inside et straight outside. Curved waist is a stylistic choice, not at all sign of a bespoke shoe. Also for Norwegian shoes, given they sturdiness, pinched waists don't really work. All my best, Hugo
Is there any shoe makers that make elegant shoes with wide toe boxes. I've been wearing barefoot shoes for a long time, and do not want to squish my feet into normal beautiful elegant shoes.
Hi Mr. Hugo, your choice of shoes is on point, but I cannot say the same for the jacket of the suit you are wearing. As far as I know, you generally wear bespoke suits. If the jacket you are wearing is bespoke made, I advise you to change your tailor immediately, because the collar lines of your jacket are very mismatched, the lines are in different positions on each collar, so it does not give a proper appearance.Since you are sensitive about clothing, please forgive me for making this comment.😇
From a purist point of view, you're right, but I LOVE this jacket my friend. Despite this small mistake, I can't help but loving it 🥰😇. Cheers to you! Hugo
I am a great fan of your content but why don’t you add the link to your French channel somewhere on the profile page? Now it’s practically introuvable…
Dear Serge, it was recommended on the bottom of this page. But you're right, I just added it on the profile (by the way, for an "introuvable channel", 120K people did find it!). Cheers, Hugo

Hugo
Happy to see this video. Watch video next? I know you aren't a watch expert but I collect them and would like to see your collection.
I second (heh) that suggestion!
Dear friend, I'm definitely not an expert and even less a collector! All my best, Hugo
Beautiful shoes Hugo especially the blue oxfords by Stephane Jimenez. Wow!
I agree, masterpiece by the late Stephane. Hugo
Magnificent collection Hugo, thank you for sharing your personal collection with us. Very informative and quite sincere, as always. Until our next appointment. (Im guessing we might see some of the Arcas appear). 😉

I love shoes and watching this video I turned green with envy.
Don't turn green my friend! I'm sure you'll have a nice collection yourself one day. Cheers, Hugo
Good evening Hugo, wow a amazing collection, kind regards Ryan.

That's a fantastic looking table. 👍🏻

Yes Sir, I have heard other experts call burgundy color the "new neutral ".
Haha, never heard that, but it kinda make sense! Cheers, Hugo
this collection is a true rarity. i would consider this stuff like the fp journe of shoes.
I agree (and FP Journe is probably my favourite watch maker). Cheers, Hugo

I didn't know that Mr. Jimenez had passed, what a loss for the sartorial community!
He passed last year (this show has been recorded in July 2023). Yours, Hugo

so much personality in each shoe. the aligator is beautiful
Great video for me as a shoe fanatic! Love the spectacles Hugo, may I ask where you acquired them? I am struggling to find spectacles that suit me
Thanks Neils. These are bespoke spectacles by the one and only Maison Bonnet (in Paris & London). Cheers, Hugo
Hello Hugo,, thanks for sharing, I wonder if you still carry copies of your book on shoes , in English ? Thanks
Unfortunately it's sold out for many months, but we may re-print it. Stay tuned, Hugo
That's a nice collection,
WIll we get to see Sonya's wardrobe and shoe collection as well?
This is old video Hugo? Stefano Bemer died over 12 years ago. Great collection of bespoke shoes.
You misheard my friend, I say at 7:59 that Stefano died in 2012. All my best, Hugo

Hi Hugo, do you wear no show socks with loafers? And what do you think of the popular Loro Piana loafers? It is made of suede and rubber sole.

Berluti is quite unique. Not the sturdiest shoes for sure, but always very stylish. As for the price, well, you pay the style and the brand's image of course. Best, Hugo
This is just like listening to Officer Crabtree from the series Allo Allo 😉
I have no idea what you're talking about! Cheers, Hugo
I know
@Sartorial Talks, have you ever tried Silvano Lattanzi?
No i did not so far. Cheers, Hugo
Awesome as usual, Hugo. What do you think about Kiton and Artioli shoes?
I know Kiton has an inside atelier in Napoli (we visited it). And everything they do is of course excellent. I know much less Artioli. Cheers, Hugo

Wonderfull shoes COLLECTION for a dandy man🎩⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you Manuel! Hugo
Again I find myself slightly more "english" than you in my tastes. But oh, the Scafora pair!
Oh this Scafora pair is just out of this world and soooo comfortable. Hugo
Nice 🎉
Hello Hugo! Just curious, would you ever consider another hairstyle? I do think your hair “suits “ you 😊, however the question has often crossed my mind…
Hugo, may I ask approximately one should expect to pay for bespoke shoes?
Good afternoon, I would say starting from $5000 for real bespoke (with your own last) and around $2500 for MTM / MTO on an existing last. Cheers, Hugo
How come some of the shoes have no curved waist on the bottom? Assuming they are bespoke... curious.
Dear Adrian, because for some of them I chose curved inside et straight outside. Curved waist is a stylistic choice, not at all sign of a bespoke shoe. Also for Norwegian shoes, given they sturdiness, pinched waists don't really work. All my best, Hugo
Wait, this can't be all of it. Didn't you have more bespoke shoes by Antonio Meccariello?
Who said it was all of it? 😉. Far from it. It's just 6 pairs. Cheers, Hugo
Nice collection. Why don’t u have an all black shoe ?
I have many black shoes my friend, these are only 6 pairs! Hugo
@@SARTORIALTALKShehe ok 👍🏻 maybe can we see the all blacks one day
