@Bryzz Lull have you watched the series it's literally based on true facts and the boys have been exonerated so therefore the whole way the prosecution of these boys played out had racist undertones or was broken or they just didn't care about the victim they just wanted to not rile up the Press and not have the Press keep asking "who did it, who did it?" and just get it done with, so they picked up any (black) boy and in the show they put an emphasis on the black male, so.....

I feel, however, that if most are watching this, that we all can get together and change the system of wickedness and hold all public servants accountable for their actions. Side note: stay on your children, conversate, indulge in their lives, make sure they have a relationship with God, as well as yourself. My kida are 25(male), 23(female), 21(male), 16(female), and 9(male). I can't even begin to imagine what this done to those families

Excellent interview! This entire case was a racist set up from the beginning. These young men were horribly mistreated. How do we fix this?
The law enforcement institutions in our country are heavily infiltrated by white supremacist ghost skins. Rooting them out would he a good start. Then add some accountability with body cams that don't turn off and independent prosecutors.

Because right now I've noticed where more blacks is, the majority of the cops is white, and where the majority of whites is there are bigger numbers of black cops. I truly believe that they intentionally put black cops in white neighborhoods and communities just so black cops don't get in the way of white cop's unlawful deeds in blacks neighborhoods and communities. Also, the few black cops they do allow to work in black neighborhoods and communities, the majority of them be older black male cops and with the majority of them being younger black female cops; and they more than often never pair either of them together, they're mostly always paired with white cops. I always WATCH everything, as well as PRAY. I fear nothing, just watch, so that my judging of what is going on won't be a lie.

This notion that they were picked at random and prosecuted is simply not true! The police evidence is public record and you can find it on Google.

NAOMA RILEY-HALL, Just like for you, Korey's story was the hardest for me. I cried for most of it. I cried for all of the Korey's that are in prison now, and for all of the Korey's who will eventually go to prison. SET UP AND FALSELY accused of crimes they didn't commit. I'm petrified for all of my nephews who have to navigate this cruel unfair world. Afraid for them to grow up, and also afraid they won't get the chance to grow up.

I couldn’t stop crying through this. Watched all back to back. More and more I cried. I just hate what we as humans are capable of for our own agenda, and how we can reason through evil acts. I hate injustice; I deplore it. I pray every day that I never become so motivated by agenda and need, to end up destroying another life to do so. I don’t think I ever will. @Linday Wiley I know this all to well, as a 37 year old Black man this hurt me very bad, I had police officers pointed guns at at 16-21 years old accused of theft put in police cars and taken to jail. It's almost a right of passage as a Black Male in America. I had a saying since I was 11, "My skin is my sin." When I 9 years old I told my mother and a good friend of mine that I will never see the age of 21, it's because of things like this. We're judge based on what we look like and the system does not care. It's the very same system for 400 years.

Terry I grew up in Baltimore and was privy to that discrimination but as a white person not affected by it. I used to drive my barbacks home after shift at 3am And I would take them home and more than not I would get pulled over. The cops would hassle my passenger but really not me. The cops would always assume I as a white girl in the hood was buying drugs. You’d think I’d get more shit for that. But no. My barback got harassed and treated like shit. Those fucking cops assumed us both in negative perception. But my black passenger got more harassment than me Its bullshit. Peoples perceptions have got to change. I hate ignorance.

Just finished the series at 4:30 in the morning and it’s just saddening how we express so much love for this country but disappoint us with these broken systems
The system was never designed with us in mind.
I never expressed love for this country, from it's "discovery" there has been this type of injustice.
ummmmm after 400yrs, trillions of dollars of profit, a fully functional & robust class system and a highly developed social hierarchy based on "Racial" color codes, there is absolutely NO way that you can come to the conclusion that anything is BROKEN! Trump is the President of the United States even after doing what he did to these young brothas who were just kids at the time. It has been 400yrs since Angolan Slaves arrived at Ft. Point Comfort, this is a well developed, highly oiled and well maintained system that does EXACTLY what it is supposed to do, ANY other conclusion is only delusion.

It gives hope to hear someone addressing so many aspects of the central park jogger case. Another case where journalists got swept up and didn't do enough to bring light to a serious miscarriage of justice.

If you're acquitted or proved innocent, the charges should come off records. If you get arrested, what you are accused of will show up in large print and whether it was dismissed is in small print. No country has an infallible governing system. Freedom of speech is one of our most important assets. It allows us to share ideas, speak against injustice, and hold others accountable. We have a frustrating road ahead, but there is light. Can you imagine how much worse it would be if we couldn't speak out against our corrupt leaders and support those that support us? Even if you like Trump, it would be horrifying if he was a dictator. At least we have the ability to comtinue improving our country.
YES!!! That was one thing that really pissed me off while I was watching, every time a reporter or camera popped up and started attacking the boys and their families, they NEVER used *"alleged"* or *"allegedly."* All the news, never giving them a chance. They were guilty and never considered to be otherwise. I was furious when one of the moms was in the phone booth and the reporters came charging in, bombarding her with horrendous remarks and questions about her son when she hadn't even seen him or knew where he was. Just terrible. Also when one reporter brought up the death penalty to another mom. Makes my blood boil that people don't and won't see people as just that: *people* . So evil. Thank you Ms. Ava for telling the story how it really happened.

stephen karmichael In many ways, you’re right. But in this context, I disagree. I think we are just grasping for air in the form of one person who’s doing a lot to make people see us as human.
I get it, I’m Black and I admit that in general Black people dress up dysfunction and call it culture. I’m completely against that! But I’m also acutely aware that where the justice system is concerned I’ll always have to be careful. I’m not trying to fight here, I just wish you could experience life with chocolate skin on.
I’m not saying every single day is horrible. It’s just that when we enter certain spaces we have to exercise extreme caution because there are people who simple cannot look at us and believe that we’re really human.
For example: As a black female I know that if I go get pregnant and drop out of high school without getting a diploma; I’m doomed to a life of poverty and cannot seriously blame white people for my stupidity. (Tons of Black people do that)
If I get educated and present myself as a decent citizen then I’ll get a good job and live a decent life.
BUT... if the black high school drop-out and the college graduate both get pulled over one night, if either of them even move their hands off the steering wheel, a cop who’s scared of ALL BLACK PEOPLE (even the decent, college educated ones who don’t look/dress like thugs) will panic and shoot. This poor officer may be white, grew up with limited interaction with Black folk and has heard his entire life that we’re ALL dangerous. So now he’s sent out to police these same folk he’s scared of; accidentally shoots one and now the entire world sees him as racist.
This long epistle is just an attempt to explain why some Black people will click the like button on anything involving someone like Ava DuVernay. Have a great day now.

Right? Which should tell you it probably didn’t happen that way. The raw video footage of the actual interviews are on RUclips. All of the boys had parents or guardians present. One thing a lot of people aren’t understanding is that the show was fictionalized. The interviews begin with the interviewer acknowledging the parents and guardians that were present on camera.
Ava DuVernay is brilliant beyond words, keep doing what you do, even if you never get the awards you so richly deserve keep shining a light on social issues.

Yeah, Cory's story totally broke my heart more than anything!! I think that every last one that had a hand in setting up the lie & false timelines should have been thrown in the clink their own selves, & never be allowed to practice ANY form of law enforcement, not as a lawyer, not as a cop, not even as a security guard!! I'm even down w/a lifetime garnishment of their wages, ESPECIALLY Lil' Miss Book Writer!!

I just saw the series and it was so powerful and sad to see! I never heard about the case until I saw a trailer for the series. Ava did a great job portraying how America sees black boys as inhumane. She also showed the innocence of the boys and their youthfulness in such a way that was so moving and would get me emotional every time! I learned so much from the series as well in terms of the justice system and the things that convicted felons go through after they are released! SO CRAZY! The series was moving as well as educational! Great work Ava!
For the korey episode I couldn’t watch. My heart hurt so bad. I just wanted to reach into the screen and hug him.. that kid did an excellent job
I LOVE this woman. She is such an incredible voice right now, which comes with a lot of responsibility, but she handles it with such grace. She has so much to say, and I love the way she says it. Such a vibrant talent.
It was heart wrenching I cried, I had to fast forward certain scenes because it was too hard for me to watch. I have teens boys and the mother in me wanted to prevent and protect those boys so badly. God bless those boys that are now men. God bless those who were able to tell their truth to the world.

Thank you Ms DuVernay, for opening the eyes of many and shedding light upon one of the many injustices that has happened to black and brown people in the history of our country.
Santana’s father reminded me so much of my dad which made it somewhat personal for me & i related so much to him going through it. Those men deserve way more than what they got, that’s time they can never get back.

I then waited patiently for Oprah to give them the opportunity to tell their story when they were vindicated but I can't recall her doing so. Much love and admiration for Ava. This terrible stain on the NY criminal system needed to be exposed for what they did to those children spearheaded by Fairstein and her criminal gang.

I love that she protected her actors' mental health. I have had an emotional time trying to watch it, I couldn't imagine being on set trying to bring the story life knowing that it is based in someone's real life and not fiction. I hate that those boys had their childhood stripped from them. There is not way to give them or their family those years back.
