The real Korey Wise's applause in the audience bro that's WHOLESOME, Jharrel and Korey are adorable, no one other than Jharrel deserved the Emmy anymore than this.
In July 2019, Wise purchased a condominium overlooking Central Park. He is the only one of the five who chose to continue to reside in New York City after his release. During the covid-19 pandemic, Wise helped provide sustenance to senior residents in Harlem.
the crowd reaction to his win says EVERYTHING. angela basset was so happy for him, all the black actors in the crowd was so proud. this man need to be in movies directed by acclaimed people like nolan, tarantino, greta gerwig, so he can won an oscar too.
He was in Oscar winning Best Picture movie “Moonlight.” That’s when I took notice of him. He was my favorite part of the movie and I knew he would go on to do grate things. He can also rap his ass off.
I think it's kinda hilarious how this comment pivots from celebrating the support of black representation, to how he needs to be directed by three white people to gain acclaim.
I don't why people were so surprised in hindsight. He was FANTASTIC in his limited role in Moonlight, which is one of the 3-4 best movies of this entire decade. His range is off the charts. It's not about ability, but opportunity. Well earned, well deserved, well done.
Ive never in my young life ever felt so moved by a movie or tv performance such as Jharrel Jerome's one in Now They See Us. Especially with was going on right now.
I just finished it, 4 years late. Holy HELL was the series some of the most intensely emotional tv I've ever watched, but it is such an important watch. Everyone should know these mens' stories. The injustice is simply stunning in the worst way possible, and yet these 5 souls rose above everything when they could have EASILY held so much anger and bitterness against the world but instead became incredibly honourable people. I'm honestly blown away by all of the performances in this series from all actors, but Jharrel Jerome certainly was the stand out. I'm still speechless from the last episode... Bravo Jharrel 👏 Extremely well deserved and earned. I'm definitely going to watch Moonlight this week as I've heard really good things about that as well. Can't wait to see what else lies ahead for this young man!!
Seeing Mahersala Ali and Sterling K. Brown stood up and applaud Jharrel Jerome. What an honour. It feels like a passing of torch moment. And both are just having the peak of their careers that time.
I loved the way Angela Bassett announced his name. You could tell she was happy for him! Korey's tears is what did it though. I mean, the second I saw him crying, I teared up too. 🥺🙏🏿💐👑
I'm late to Netflix and this deeply emotional mini series! His acceptance speech resonates deeper now that I've seen the episodes. 1-2 had me angry and perplexed, 3 had me crying and 4 broke me down. Jharrel so earned this award. Episode 4 makes me cry at the loneliness, violence and trials Korey went through and this version I'm sure is the clean version. 😭
I've seen a lot performances throughout my life and they've moved me in ways I can't explain. But his performance, Jerome's performance, that was just OUT OF THIS WORLD. I'm a grown ass man and I cried. Hard. So hard I put my hands on my mouth so the neighbors don't think something had happened to me. I will never EVER forget it. EVER. What a way to tell a story.
Angela Bassett knew what was up… What an HONOR to be presented an award by a legend… Limited Series performances are always so STELLAR. This was a huge surprise win. Very well deserved.
Every time I need a good happy cry, I come back to this clip. I only watched WTSU once, but Jharrel's performance left a lasting impression that haunts me to this day. So well deserved!
Bro deserved every bit of that award.. bro is an absolutely exceptional actor. Tears built in my eyes as I watched what korey Wise lived as an innocent man under a wicked system against the heavily melanated. 🖤
He told Korey’s story like NO OTHER. Nobody else deserved this more than him❤️ he was so strong to tell this story and hear about Korey’s pain even if he came nowhere near as close to the real thing we still felt it. I can’t wait to see more of him
He deserves that award because those 4 episodes from that series were so heart breaking to me!!! The fact that they are alive to tell their story is amazing!!
Korey Wise looking up at Jharrel Jerome like a proud papa bear, it’s such a beautiful thing. ❤️ This series overall was so enlightening to the tragedy of what happened to the Exonerated 5 as children, but Jerome’s performance in particular absolutely broke me.
When you know you’ve done it... the man you portrayed on film is there balling his eyes out for you because you brought his story, his pain, his emotions to the screen in grand fashion!! #JUSTWOW
He absolutely deserved that!!!! I was so surprised to know he played both the roles- of a 16y/o and 30+. Very very well done man. And yeah he brought the justice to those roles.
Korey was crying 🥺 he was so proud of him.

He was amazing in Moonlight, and it's a pretty good film, too, but a top 4 of the decade film? I'm REALLY not sure about that.

Yes WE are!!! Everything and MORE!!!
I just finished when they see us. Jharrel deserved every piece of that Emmy.
