      oh amen. in an industry like hollywood that’s about as daring as it gets. being strong and comfortable without makeup, botox, hair done, etc. (and ironically it actually makes her MORE beautiful)
      and it’s even more apparent on her show. she’s not afraid to just bare all. hell, even emotionally- she’s not afraid to “ugly cry” haha like we all do! she’s just real. viola is an absolute force of nature. an inspiration for all women, not just women of color!

    This has got to be one of the best positive images of black women in support of each other, this is so Amazing, even though some of the white men were a bit uncomfortable with her speech, but that’s what it means to be unapologetically Black, I loved this allllll the way 🙏🏿🙌🏿✊🏿

    I have just finished reading her book - Viola - finding me, and now that I've had a glimpse of her life, of how hard this beautiful woman has struggled ...I want to watch her speeches in all the awards she won.     I love how Taraji, a fellow nominee, uplifted Viola in that moment. Taraji has ALWAYS been that way. She was supposed to be on the cover of Ebony Magazine alone when she got an Oscar nomination. Viola was nominated that same year and in the same category. Taraji insisted they include Viola in the piece and on the cover. And they did. Love this woman to pieces.

    Viola Davis is definitely a definition of true talent. She’s such an inspiration, so talented, so hardworking, even thinking about her makes me cry with tears of joy and admiration and that is what makes an actor incredible - not only the ability to portray the myriad of emotions, but also being able to bring them out of the audience.
