I generally listen to metal, but when I'm stressed and aggravated nothing calms me down better then Norah Jones. She's just got this smooth mellow vibe to her.
Bruce Joslen Man you have the same thoughts of a 40 year old mom worried about is child listening to metal... only that kid is now an adult because it’s freakin 2020 and no one thinks like that anymore.
@@tombsower6926 I wouldn't agree with that. Little Broken Hearts, After the Fall, Flipside, Day Breaks, Hurts to Be Alone, How I Weep... are just as good. But I love her music, and you obviously don't.
Ten years ago in my early teens I listened to this song, this exact upload. I stared out of my window at the pinkish gradient of the sunset in the sky, having just moved to a new town and a new house with my family, and thought about how the 2000s was over and the future awaited us. It feels like it has been forever, and yet only a moment.
Norah Jones is simply the perfect combination of talent, class, beauty and humble brilliance. Our world could use more of her DNA floating around everywhere.
I could live inside this song. I think it's interesting to note that there are no cymbals in the drum track, only drums. I think this decision created a lot of room in the higher frequencies for Norah's voice to come through clearer. The video is just as cool as the song. Unique idea, creative... And not done in a cheesy way. There is a little extra magic when we see the sails get wind :)
I had been searching for this song for several years. I always heard it at my job. I remembered the beat but not the lyrics. I began a journey of trying to find it. With only knowing that is was a female, and that the song sounded like an oldie, I began looking on youtube and google. Then I came across the name Norah Jones. I thought that maybe it could be her; the song did sound like her voice. After listening to several of her songs, I finally found this gem. It's been almost a year now since that happened, and I am still just as grateful!
This song has always been a guilty pleasure for me. Reminds me of my college years/00's. Its too short. Once you get into it, the song is over. I find myself listening to it a couple times because of that. Very nostalgic.
I work over night and this song comes on every night, multiple times. And to be honest, it's the only one that I can actually tolerate. It's calming and I wish it were longer. :(
I heard this at Gamestop back in 09 I literally memorized the phrase "my minds racing from chasing pirates" in the future just incase I get a computer, I got a iPod touch and looked up this song and now I can die happy 🚣♥️
Beautiful song, and smart of the director to shy away from the absolute chaos on the city streets below. No telling how many died in the filming of this video.
Stuck in my head for the last couple of weeks .. Couldn't figure out the exact name. Finally found this song after looking up artist names which start with N.
Same. I've known *of* her since when she was big, but I was never exposed to her music or seeked it out. Now that this song has popped up at work, I finally looked her up and I absolutely love her.
Please stop calling artists of this caliber underrated, just because they don't climb the charts or other bullshit that shouldn't be given the slightest importance. Every time an artist is named underrated, it's as if you're saying that the work, the art they live for, doesn't do enough. You couldn't be more wrong.
I heard this song countless times on the car radio on my way to work and coming back home and now 5 years later I still smile every time I hear it.......

+jan279 I just wish that the "Jam" was longer, with whatever instrument that was being played. And, she is SO cute in this video! I love the little 'imperfections'! FRECKLES!!! I love 'em!
I sat right in front of you at a concert in Portland, Oregon, you were so generous in spirit, people were literally moaning with the level of genuine intimacy in the air with your sound! Be well beautiful Norah, one of a kind♥️♥️♥️
This video has inception the movie vibes. I love the fact that she took a heart brake song and turned it into a children’s illustration book. She’s like a little girl that still wants to play trying to navigate the dating world.

November 2024 and this song is still “it”!!
Dec 2024🥰
This song is so underrated. I catch myself humming this one all the time.
Her father is Ravi Shankar and her sister is one of the best sitar players
🎵 Simply having a wonderful Christmas time! 🎵

She's adorable!
Absolutely love her skirt in this video!
Heard this song for the first time while watching House series. Took me 11 years and a covid virus to get here. Merry Xmas everyone.
Omg same! I knew the song but I completely forgot about it and House brought it to my attention again a few months ago. Nice little coincidence!
Same 😝
@@pepperpattynaise That's what brought me here! 😅
13 years later and I still love this song
It's a wee classic.
She is beautiful, her music is beautiful, her lyrics are beautiful. Honestly, such an inspiration.
She's a real artist. Doesn't really have a bad song.

I think Norah Jones is like a goddess... I don't even like southern accents but she has more than that going for her.
Makes me feel good about the situation my friend and I think we should be...
Can't wait for proper treatment and she is indicated.
Well I guess we can go talk about what you said...
Just want to know how that goes out of the house and the other side of my face....
Never heard this at time, now 2024almost, what a song, cool and stylish, class act.

her voice is sooo soothing. just makes me feel like flying! love norah jones.

Love this song still in 2024❤
Oh man, this song takes me back to 2008. I fell in love with her, her beauty, her voice, and her outfit.
Nothing like a diva dressed as a pirate
Norah Jones is one of those rare artists who are not about fame at all. she won 5 Grammys back in 2003 and got so confused with it :)

not for anyone in particular but gives me as sadness and makes me feel all the things and a mostly wistful feeling

She's so pretty and classy. Norah was my crush back in middle school
Thank you, Royal Caribbean, for playing this on my cruise.
My freshman year of college and living away from home triggered extreme anxiety for me. This song helped me calm down numerous times that year.
This song is 13+ years old and I simply cannot fathom our modern day artists making something as sublime as this.😆
Still love it in 2023
simplicity + stunning voice = Norah Jones 🙌
This song was crazy popular in my country in 2010, was on every radio station, but forgotten just as fast rip

You were going to bed
But I'm not done with the night
So I stayed up and read
But your words in my head
Got me mixed up so I turned out the light
And I, don't know how
To slow it down
My mind's racing
From chasing pirates
Well, I'm having the squeems
While the silliest thing's
Floppin' around in my brain
And I try not to dream
But them possible schemes
Swim around, wanna drown me in sync
And I don't know how
To slow it down
Oh, my mind's racing
From chasing pirates
And I don't know how
To slow it down
Oh, my mind's racing
From chasing pirates
My mind's racing
From chasing pirates
My mind's racing
From chasing pirates...
