Hey, here's a challenge for masking: Try doing the Super Minipla Dagwon sets! (Both Fire and Power) Minipla is HEAVILY RELIANT on stickers and parts are pre-painted, so it would be a good challenge and you can sneak in your MM style for the tiny details and glow/shine effects! If not, you can paint HG Master Gundam as Getter Robo (Aka Char custom) for fun. Coming from a fan who first learned about you because of the Red Bull God Gundam. I want to see you grow more! Also Master has a Unicorn (Not a Unicorn Gundam, a literal Unicorn) so you can use it for a mounted MM style kit.
I work(ed) a pretty high pressure IT career and am completely busted. I've found that getting out of the space I associate with the work I'm burnt out on helps a lot, side-projects on the computer are best taken to the couch or at a café on a laptop rather than on my desktop, but what works even better is to switch activities completely. I've been giving my motorcycle some deep maintenance, and switching away from "inside high focus" stuff to "outside simple tasks" stuff is the most mentally invigorating experience in my year long recovery process now. From one openly emotionally vulnerable millennial to another: Shift the scene, shift the load, shift the activity.
“Do as I say, not as I do” was such an outplayed saying by parents. The reason why (at least for me) is that they wanted us to be BETTER than them. I appreciate the honesty about you not maintaining brushes ideally. Appreciate you homie ❤
For what it's worth your videos really helped me summon the courage to do my first kitbash and custom paint. I learned I just need to be patient with the dry time of the paint.
Glad to see some fresh content. Thanks for giving me another fix of hobby goodness. As for burnout, when hobbying becomes a chore, I try to switch it up, building, kitbashing, and painting.
You've inspired me to start painting gunpla again after years of being out of it. You're hilarious Liam, one of the best creators in the space; so I hope you continue to make fantastic videos!
Man, I basically instantly subscribed to your channel. I'm brand new to the hobby and am still assembling all the tools and whatnot, but seeing your painting videos took a very scary and imposing subject and broke it down in a step by step way that made it easy to understand that the final steps are where the work really comes out. I'm still not sure I'll get into fully hand painting models, but I love the way you accentuate things like thruster bells, and eventually I plan to get into hand painting small details instead of using stickers. So thanks for making it seem less scary and encouraging me to put the extra work into really making gunpla pop.
Hey, thanks for the kind comment! These are exactly the kind of words I like to hear and I wish you luck with any painting you're going to attempt; have a good one!
Hey just wanted to say love the channel and the style! I had transitioned away from painting miniatures to doing work on canvas about a year ago and your videos have made me buy my first gunpla kit to try as a personal side piece for myself and try to get some friends into the Gamma wolves scene!
That white looks so good! Paining large areas of white is awful! (same with yellow). I live in a similar climate. I wonder if it'd help to run a humidifier in my painting room. Hmmm... I may try it next time.

I recently got into gunpla and miniatures..and I’m in the middle of painting the gunpla and though..why not edge highlight? Haha had to see if it was a thing people did and it led me to your amazing channel. Amazing work my friend. Subscribing!
Love your style of painting gunpla! I'm trying to work up the courage to try some form of painting on my gunpla but I'm still very new to building model kits. One question I did have is, does it matter what kind of desk you use when building/painting gunpla? I ask cause in about a month I'll be moving to a new apartment where I should actually have room for a desk in my room.
It doesn't really matter IMO. I just follow general ergonomics tips. It also depends on what is most comfortable for your body, like how not everyone enjoys the same kind of desk chair. I paint with my elbows propped up on the desk most of the time, but I know not everyone prefers that posture.

I'm not burnt out in a sense that I'm tired of my gunpla hobby, it's just that I'm so tired from work I just want to slip into a coma. Working a 10-4 schedule is rough.
it's useful to build first because you should make painting decisions based on what the model looks like assembled, and you'll also be able to see areas where paint is at risk of chipping/rubbing before you actually put paint on them
I've never fully painted a kit before, only missing colors and stuff. I'm studyin and just pretty busy in general, plus dont really have space to paint or even build things. Really want to custom build my own soon.
Tried to paint a Gundam white, just the most basic color you could ask for. Failed utterly. The paint went on looking like water and pooled up in weird ways. I tried several types of paint and several consistency of thin ned paint and it didn't seem to matter. It is impossible to learn to pain Gundam when you are as clueless as I am lol. I need a mentor
some white paints are just not as good to get acceptable coverage with, and trying to paint flat mecha panels with it adds another layer of difficulty. You could try using dedicated paint thinner instead of water (I'm assuming you're working with acrylics). Working over a light grey primer will also make painting white easier; there's also no shame in using rattle cans
Brace your palms together, and your elbows on the desk so you don't hunch over. That's what works for me, but some people prefer other postures, depends on your body. Terrainosaur has a good video on painting with tremors ruclips.net/video/oqp76vAJu9g/видео.html
I think the content is great, but one minor thing I find very hard to follow your video, or very distracting is the background and the lighting. I find background has way too many details like the universe thing, and the lighting has a lot of reflection on the model. Hope this help you improve the video in some way.

The barbatos 6th form’s shoulders are actually salvaged from a graze ritter so its a vidar x barbatos x graze

Nice video. I have one question : what kind of do you use to lock the pose?
Both thin and thock super glue and plastic cement. Depends on what I'm gluing
