Hello and thank you for clicking on my video! You’ll want to watch this one to the very end, trust me ;) . . . . Also, check out Country Fried Minis for fantastic painting videos: www.youtube.com/@countryfriedminis
I like the fact a gundam frame using the head and other parts of a schwalbe and other grazes as replacement parts from being damage at the last battle it fought
Wow not only do your custom models look amazing but what i love even more is how you explain your techniques as you show how to do them. very thorough i will be subscribing and watching future videos
Hey, thanks for this - I've been working on a Frame Arms that I'm going to custom paint, and I'd been debating about whether it was better to prime every single surface or build assemblies and then take them apart for spraying. I was *also* thinking of spraying the inner frame with a gold metallic, but I hadn't thought of just spraying gold right over the black prime and then overpainting on that. I'm going to steal that technique wholesale, which will at least let me cut down on the number of segments I need to leave disassembled before I start. Oh, and your final kit looks boss too! I love the purple OSL you did for the booster.
Thanks for the thoughtful comment. I lean towards doing fewer sub-assemblies because I lock some of the articulation for me tabletop-gaming projects, and also it's easier and faster for my hand-painting focused work-flow. Generally I will only paint in full sub-assemblies for a 'traditional' gunpla build that remains articulated
That's a great, grey Gunpla you have there! Grey is a so-and-so to make dynamic and interesting, but you did the trick here. Also, I think I want to gold bling some models, after seeing that gold layer looking so pretty.
Great video! The compilation of phases the model went through to reach its final form was interesting. Really showed off the changes you made. Such a cool model in the end. All the work in the streams paid off! Seeing the versions back to back is super inspiring to me. Makes me feel less bad for taking a break from my sazabi project because of options paralysis😅 Also, wheee! my interwebz name got a mention here. I am honored. You inspired me to get started with gunpla customising. Fun to see you went through disliking deckalls to liking decals. I took a really long time to pull those slippery boys into my comfort zone!
Great comment! Thanks for appreciating the long journey this project took; and also thanks for your contribution to the lil' Patreon survey ;) Options paralysis can be hard for sure, sometimes artificial limitations are necessary! Also, it's funny how I can hand paint for hours, but my stamina runs out much quicker in long decal-ing sessions
I LOVE GOL-LD!, this Mech came out great, i really do love gold, so seeing such a realstic metal acheived on this scale is a good thing because now i know it can be done professionaly! and those decals look great too!
Hello Liam. You use glaze medium frequently when blending and trying to achieve gradients. I've seen a few others claim that you can get a similar effect with water. Have you tried just thinning your paints with water/alcohol instead of glaze medium? If you are able, please comment on the differences between using glaze medium and water. Thanks.
Glaze medium has a lot of water in it, but if you thin with just water the paint is harder to control and doesn't flow or level as well. If water is all you have though, you can definitely get adequate glazing results with a bit more brush finesse. Hoepfully that helps, I'm just going off my own experience. Thanks for the comment!
2-3 thin coats, but when you look at them up close they do not look as smooth. the varnish, decals, and weathering all work to distract from the lack of smoothness that comes from hand painting
How about you try building the 30 Minutes Fantasy model kits thst have been recently released? They look great, and could definitely benefit drom being painted like miniatures.
@MMMayhem there seems to be a delay in delivery for European and American vendors, as the people who managed to get the models early are buying directly from Japanese websites, like Buyee, or HobbyLink Japan.
oh, I thought this color scheme was based on Saint-14 (from Destiny). he's in a relationship with another man, so... close enough? sorta? not really lol.
i sometimes curse on my ability to identify the pieces of your customs, instead of thinking oh, i like this custom, i think, hey that hand is from x model and those arms are from x model. My brain: Why aren't those pieces in there respective body?

@@MMMayhemprobably looking for its parts
Absolutely fantastic results this time around. I'm definitely a sucker for tiny chipping effects. Also thanks for the shoutout!
You're welcome, I'm a sucker for all the silly jokes in your videos XD
This guy is so cool. I like this complexity. I have no words just WOW. This is great result I wait for this since last video
Appreciate the comment, thanks!
Been watching for a while, i love your style of paint jobs and your editing, your scripts have just the right amount of information and silly humor.
Wow, thanks for those kind and encouraging words!
the production quality of your videos is insane, definitely worth the sub
Thanks, I appreciate that!

Classy and snappy outfit ✨️ loved to watch the process for these kits also the old world models! 🎉
Thanks B0$$, I tried to match my outfit to the paint job lol
@@MMMayhem you're a bo$$! Stay fly, Liam. May the world recognize your artistry and creative ingenuity! 🔥 🎨 🤖

I especially enjoyed seeing the light effects around the thrusters - really cool!
Thanks, those usually tie things together real well at the end of my projects I think!
Great to see you posting!
Great for you to comment (I haven't stopped posting, I'm just slow ha ha)
Awesome color palette match between your outfit and the model! Appreciate your fine brushwork
I'm so glad you noticed the outfit colours, thank you!
Your brushwork is great as always! I love painting to your videos, very zen. Thanks!
You're welcome you shirtless lad!
I love this color scheme!
same here, thanks!

Thanks, the grey definitely gives the other colors more room to shine!

this is awesome I want to get into table top games and gamma wolves and lancer caught my eye.. thanks for the best examples
You're welcome, and there are more cool games out there other than those 2 as well!
You know I’ve got 2 WFM kits I’ve got in the backlog that I’ve been planning to kitbash for a while. Very inspiring work.
Good luck with your kitbash and thanks for watching :)
I've been holding off on a couple of projects for a while, but this has inspired me. Thanks!
Glad I could inspire you, thanks for watching :)
i appreciate deckles. always love a good deckle.
love me some slippery dekhalz
beautiful work, i like weathered mech
Thanks! I have certainly enjoyed weathering some projects this year
Still a delight!
Thank you kindly
GLORIOUS
Non Binary Leftovers :]
Very nicely done! I'm looking to get into kitbashing myself soon and your videos are a wonderful example :)
Thanks, really appreciate that; have fun kitbashing!
Loved the end result despite my head saying it this kitbash design fit a lot in a Tao army.
It does indeed have a bit of that look, ha ha
Happy to see ya back in my feed ❤
happy to bring you a video to watch!
I prefer pristine vs battle damaged but There's a place for both and it still looks great
Thanks for appreciating it all, and answering the survey!
Gradients for dayz

awesome
Thanks!
I was thinking the paint reminded me of Megatron
I can see the association there!
let's gooooooooooooooooooo
love to see you upload
Love to see your excitement!
Love the video ❤🔥
Great to hear, thanks!
My love for iron blooded orphans demands I use the newly found list of kits to get myself my own copy of the mech
it's a series worth collecting!
Love this so much 💜 💛🖤🤍
Thank you general. If I had a waterslide decal of one of the sugar candy mascots, like party boi, I would have applied it somewhere to this mecha, lol
@@MMMayhem hahaha if I knew how to make them I'd make you one

How do you get your panels to be so smooth?

how long do you need to microwave these leftovers 🤔
depends on how droopy you want your robit to be?
randomly saw this vid and the first 5 seconds was like is that Skallagrim? oh wait no
lol not quite, I wish I had some swords of my own...
what tabletop wargames do you use these in? I'd love to see some videos about gameplay
Gamma Wolves, I have a battle report from a few years ago: ruclips.net/video/Ak6QV8cG6wM/видео.html
At first I thought it was some sort of armored core model kit until i read the title. But anyways, great job!
Armored core looks cool as heck, so I appreciate that!
How about you try building the 30 Minutes Fantasy model kits thst have been recently released? They look great, and could definitely benefit drom being painted like miniatures.
yeah they look cool to paint, I haven't been able to buy any yet, I'm sure I'll get some eventually!

the thumbnail looks like an armored core old gen cover
That's high praise, thanks!
Kimaris Vidar inspo?
no, but I do enjoy that mobile suit design!
oh, I thought this color scheme was based on Saint-14 (from Destiny). he's in a relationship with another man, so... close enough? sorta? not really lol.
Looked up the name and can definitely see why you thought of that character! I haven't played any Destiny myself. Thanks for the comment.
