A2 is my favorite, her personality is remenicant of a friend who doesn't want to be a burden to others so she strikes out alone to carry the weight of the world by herself. She probably feels really alone in her life, but acts annoyed to the pod because she probably doesn't have very good speaking skills despite her wider vocabulary (evident in her encounters with 2B and 9S where she explains and says very little than resorts to violence) and she likely didn't have a pod during her time at Yorha (since she is shown in every scene in the video that she doesn't know its protocols or the extent of its capabilities for interfacing with her) so she's much less socially compatable with it. Yet at the same time, she knows its only doing its job and is also helping her do what she wants to. While at any moment she could have smashed it to peaces for annoying her, she didn't because it was keeping her company and was looking out for her well being, physically (and likely mentally and emotionally too)
She actually blames herself because of the stuff that happened in her backstory so now she goes around alone because she doesn't want to people to suffer because of her
I think it's less she's unsocial and more she's been on the run from yorHa since forever because she managed to be the only one to survive what was supposed to be a secret suicide mission without their knowledge and then having the kill off the endless hitmen squads sent after her. Also, she probably doesn't trust the pod and is cold towards it because she probably thinks its a spy and she associates it with yorHa while being a reminder of her misery. Also, she has Kaine's personality, sooo there's that, lol.
She also went from wanting to kill Pascal and the peaceful machines to caring for them deeply so quickly because she was so lonely before and they treated her with kindness and made her feel welcome, something she likely hadn't felt in a very long time.

Looking at their chemistry, their relationship can also resemble one between a father and his eldest daughter. Since Pod 042 is literally floating around A2 and giving her both advice and headaches, Pod is being a helicopter parent.
I mean it is implied in the stage play that A2 is based off of Kaine’s personality. As all YoRHa androids have false memories. A2 remembering Living Happily with her grandma on a farm.
Yoko Taro confirmed that Pod 042 was based on Zinnia's personality, the creator of YoRHa who treated the original female YoRHa No.2 and the original male YoRHa No.9 like his own children. Ending E also seems like Zinnia taking care of his children
Considering there is an ending that involves A2 destroying the machine children following their retreat into the Factory, I find this comment far too accurate.
A2 so pretty A2's relationship with Pod Feels very similar to Kaine and Weiss I love the Nier series, I mean I played automata first and then the recent replicant but I love this series

Pod interactions are really well written in this game. Both A2 and 2B have a really funny passive-agressive kind of relationship with the POD. It is most obvious with A2. But they were roasting each other with 2B from the very fist second.

I fully agree with you on that point. 2B is quite lacking in actual character. It's why I preferred playing as 9S and A2. Even the pods are better characters than 2B, at least in my opinion.

Actually it’s heavily implied in the stage play she’s the main character of that some of her memories were retained from a young girl living in the countryside with her grandmother. With this in mind the original Kainé, not the Replicant, are the memories A2 retained.
