The thing about Christian is that he always improve, not like other brands that make 6 versions of 1 car and they all have 5 hp of difference each, but Christian break records and limits with each car, what a real man and a company should strive to, improvements.
Other brands have massive restrictions and many variables to consider when creating standard cars. They have to make them safe, economical, attractive looking, etc etc but most importantly, affordable; contrary to what you're saying, they do all this whilst constantly improving what's on offer compare a Ford, BMW, or VW from now and 20, or even 10 years ago and they have come on leaps and bounds. Christian is not bound by these restrictions. I'm not taking anything away from Christian, I'm just saying you can't really compare a hypercar company with your average car manufacturer.
@@The_Situation only thing I'd agree with you on is affordability. They worry about every other thing you mentioned. Though it may not be as economical with it's twin turbo v8 as say a prius, every car they make is also tuned to run on bio fuel. As for safety, they always try to get their cars homologated for every country and standard. And the carbon fibre monocoque is a lot more sturdy than you'd think (though it would be a shame to crash it). And as a hypercar producer they obviously have to worry about the styling of their vehicles

At this rate, the latest Huracan will still be a thing in 2060 and McLaren will still be using the same old V8 and the same headlights in their 965 LT maybe. Ferrari was using the 458 platform till the F8. None of these companies make their own gearboxes, they have specialist companies doing that for them. But those companies too haven't invented anything new since the Dual Clutch transmission arrived. I am surprised why no engine manufacturer tried camless when Koenigsegg is doing it out of a garage shed. Koenigsegg has literally invented the wheel.
There are hypercars and then there are Koenigseggs...These are always accompanied with a new monumental feat of engineering to showcase. It should be inspiring to other manufacturers to give some of these technologies a run in their performance cars. It's literally magic compared to what the other top manufacturers are putting into their brainchidren. From the day I had discovered a Koenigsegg I have always been awestruck by Christian and his team of engineers in what they conjure up in that little warehouse. Truly remarkable.

It was the chemistry and pure entertainment trio delivered combined with the adventures and love for anything with an engine- from the most prestigious to the most humble. That can’t be recreated. It’s amazing what Christian has done. They make nearly everything on the car his ideas just keep coming. They aren’t my favorite in terms of looks, but they are great in terms of innovation, performance and quality.
Ever since I learned of Koenigsegg as a car manufacturer and learned about Christian von Koenigsegg himself, I've been nothing but in awe of what it is he does in creating these vehicles. The man is simply bonkers, in a very good way. If I never make the kind of money that affords me the opportunity to own one of his vehicles, I'd be equally as happy just to meet him and shake his hand for his contributions to the motoring world.
I don't think it has anything in common with DCT other than being a gearbox, having gears and clutches inside. It's completely new and different design.
Koenigsegg has always and will always be my favorite manufacturer...their cars are just unreal works of art... the CC8S was what first tickled my senses back in 2002...its been one amazing run all the models that have come out from then and how far they have come...man the Jesko and the Jesko Absolut are both an amazing work of art...

Wrong decision, being a hypercar doesn't mean only speed, it's about the quality, the design, the engine, the stability.. Koenigsegg makes light weight cars with a maxed out V8. the Agera had a good looking exterior but Jesko?!? Wth!? It looks so ugly af.. More like 600 to low 700 HP. 670 HP is the power of the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 so far so 700 is pretty close if not straight up within range.
What an amazing vehicle so many details you could spend hours looking at it, observing and marveling at the intricacies especially so many things that are hidden from view. Owner who are fortunate enough to own one are truly blessed!
For some reason i find the agera r rear and the regera front better looking. Although this car is way above any other car atm engineering wise. That gearbox is something else
I"m usually not a big fan of hypercars, but this thing is absolutely marvellous. Not even talking about the looks since they are subjective. I think the reaction at 02:21 says it all!
The transmission in this just "never" gest the praise it really deserves. It is a engineering marvel and a very clever design. It can handle as much torque as a Bugatti dual clutch, shifts faster and more flexible on gear choice, and weighs a lot less. Just brilliant engineering bu such a small company as Koenigsegg.
The Jesko is the pinnacle of what we are capable of in the world of automotive engineering all rolled up into one incredible package of a hyper car. Well done Koenigsegg!

It's a good looking car, both variants. Love the Saab 900 style wraparound windscreen that they've adhered to. The level of engineering is out of this world.

A small error, the Jesko Absolut produces 1600bhp (E85) as per the official data. Edit: Another error, 1390kg is the curb weight as per the official data. 1290kg is the official dry weight.
Well thanks for those shots of the speedometer. I can now say that based on the gear ratios and a reasonable assumption of the final drive, the top speeds in each gear are : Gear No - Vmax (mph) 1st - 48.1 2nd - 62.2 3rd - 79 4th - 100.9 5th - 130.7 6th - 165.6 7th - 272.5 9th - 345.5 It makes sense considering you'd want great 0-60 mph, 0-100 mph, 0-125 mph and a top speed possibly exceeding 333 mph (in Nevada in the 10% thinner air it could in theory reach 340 mph+ on the downhill run). This matches well with the speeds and rpms shown in the speedo.
Its in km/h. 7th gear and not even 300kmh yet is not going to give 500+ top speed. This is a very early pre production model and they have got a long way to go

On full tilt this car will be a new level of insanity.

It’s amazing what Christian has done. They make nearly everything on the car his ideas just keep coming. They aren’t my favorite in terms of looks, but they are great in terms of innovation, performance and quality.
Ever since I learned of Koenigsegg as a car manufacturer and learned about Christian von Koenigsegg himself, I've been nothing but in awe of what it is he does in creating these vehicles. The man is simply bonkers, in a very good way. If I never make the kind of money that affords me the opportunity to own one of his vehicles, I'd be equally as happy just to meet him and shake his hand for his contributions to the motoring world.

I don't think it has anything in common with DCT other than being a gearbox, having gears and clutches inside. It's completely new and different design.

Koenigsegg has always and will always be my favorite manufacturer...their cars are just unreal works of art... the CC8S was what first tickled my senses back in 2002...its been one amazing run all the models that have come out from then and how far they have come...man the Jesko and the Jesko Absolut are both an amazing work of art...

I was a Bugatti boy for a long time. I'm now converted to Koenigsegg. The cars are just raw and exciting.
Wrong decision, being a hypercar doesn't mean only speed, it's about the quality, the design, the engine, the stability.. Koenigsegg makes light weight cars with a maxed out V8. the Agera had a good looking exterior but Jesko?!? Wth!? It looks so ugly af.. No doubt Koenigsegg makes good cars and I have respect for Christian Von Koenigsegg but it doesn't make Koenigsegg any better than Bugatti. if Bugatti wanted to make just fast cars, they would have reduced the weight and quality of the chassis and everything and could have crossed 350 mph. Bugatti is an epitome of Hypercars , it defines what a hypercar is..
Edit: I grew up.,Koenigsegg makes really fast, beautiful and mouth watery cars. I used to hate a bit on Koenigsegg but now i don't. I love Koenigsegg. Specially the AGERA RS and the REGERA. those are real beauties. I mean you can literally jerk off to those two beauties. Now Bugatti. Let's talk about Bugatti. So Bugatti is still my fav Hypercar brand and I'll simply not put a Bugatti against a Koenigsegg because "If comparable, It's no longer a Bugatti". 🗿 Peace

More like 600 to low 700 HP. 670 HP is the power of the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 so far so 700 is pretty close if not straight up within range.
What an amazing vehicle so many details you could spend hours looking at it, observing and marveling at the intricacies especially so many things that are hidden from view. Owner who are fortunate enough to own one are truly blessed!

The transmission in this just "never" gest the praise it really deserves. It is a engineering marvel and a very clever design. It can handle as much torque as a Bugatti dual clutch, shifts faster and more flexible on gear choice, and weighs a lot less. Just brilliant engineering bu such a small company as Koenigsegg.
The Jesko is the pinnacle of what we are capable of in the world of automotive engineering all rolled up into one incredible package of a hyper car. Well done Koenigsegg!

It's a good looking car, both variants. Love the Saab 900 style wraparound windscreen that they've adhered to. The level of engineering is out of this world.

Well thanks for those shots of the speedometer. I can now say that based on the gear ratios and a reasonable assumption of the final drive, the top speeds in each gear are :
Gear No - Vmax (mph)
1st - 48.1
2nd - 62.2
3rd - 79
4th - 100.9
5th - 130.7
6th - 165.6
7th - 272.5
9th - 345.5
It makes sense considering you'd want great 0-60 mph, 0-100 mph, 0-125 mph and a top speed possibly exceeding 333 mph (in Nevada in the 10% thinner air it could in theory reach 340 mph+ on the downhill run). This matches well with the speeds and rpms shown in the speedo.
Its in km/h. 7th gear and not even 300kmh yet is not going to give 500+ top speed. This is a very early pre production model and they have got a long way to go

Well I watched Mr. JWW do a run in it and one more guy called Rkb36 or something who's known for doing shots of Eggs. For a pre production prototype, on only part throttle, on regular gas, restricted to only 7000 rpm, it already outdoes the hypercar Trinity to 300 kmph like a light morning jog. On full tilt this car will be a new level of insanity.
