Christian is a proper engineer. Such pride in the details. He obviously has a team of clever people working with him but he knows his stuff. I’m not one to be a fan of a car company boss but he’s in a league of his own.
100% you can only keep what you have by giving it away. He understands that sharing his ideas and creations is what allows him and the Koenigsegg team to progress and move forward to the next stage. He's the type of man that would be happy if something they built inspired other minds to create.
The CC8S is such an iconic car, and the fact that Koenigsegg are revisiting it and updating it to the latest tech is testament to just how iconic it is. The CC850 is and will be a work of art in motion.
CC8S are so rare they're basically never on sale (there's only 5 in existence) but I bet the demand for the CC8S exploded since CC850 came on the scene. Like if I had way too much money, I would easily bid on a CC8S, and match the spec on my CC850 to it. How cool would it be to have a matching pair in a car collection.
Yep. I'm a staunch manual only guy but I'll let this slip. No pun intended. Sounds like the perfect gearbox. This guy makes porsche engineers seem lazy.
- well there have been Automated Single clutch manual, Automated Dual clutch manual - now the hexaclutch (where the synchronisers are the clutches) automated manual. - taking the splines out of play (but there should still be s a positive lock for each gear to reduce ltotal full power wear on the clutches) Whether you are "simulating" a manual or shifting for peak performance/ or economy - the tech is strong in this one. (manual gates are just for entertainment here, though the clutch pedal gives the driver the choice of timing - or the illusion thereof - much better than just a paddle shifter.)
I love this man. He and his company have truly taken the romance of car making to an entirely new level. I hope he is around making cars for another 50 years!
Beyond the incredible humility, passion, spectacular knowledge and joy that Christian exudes through every pore, I absolutely love when he uses the term "we". Yes, there is a stunningly competent and exquisite team behind him, he is ultimately the boss and could say things like "I invested in this factory because". Not only are his cars stunning achievements, he is likely an amazing boss to work for. I imagine that no one his team would ever even think about leaving or being disloyal. A true leader. Very much the Swedish way. Hats off!
Christian is the epitome of what we all dream of accomplishing as a kid, but then he keeps on delivering what no one could ever expect. He’s easily the best to ever do it. Ferruccio, Enzo, Etorro, and Horacio would all agree; he’s in a league of his own.
I think Horacio Pagani is on Christian’s level. Just in a different way. Christian an engineer. Horacio is an artist. Pagani is quite literally rolling art. Especially those interiors. Konigsegg is an engineering masterpiece.
It truly shows how much vision christian has as a car designer and founder- the CC series was perhaps the most raw and aesthetic rendition of a v8 supercar- now a hypercar.
I love the fact that Christian always notes the other great cars from other companies in his talks. He really does appreciate great engineering and so it's not a surprise that Koenigseggs are some of the best engineered vehicles out there. Wish him and his team all the best.
Christian is a genius level engineer. He knows everything about the car, top to bottom, and the CC850 is the most exciting car he's made since the first or second Egg. Those wealthy and privileged folk who get to own one of the 70 are incredibly fortunate. I can't imagine a more desirable car. Christian is a truly inspirational character.
its sooo soooo pretty. Honestly one of the most beautiful cars ive ever seen. Whoever's idea it was to revisit the car as a homage hats off to you I want one on a poster on my wall.
Christian’s passion doesn’t surprise me, but what does it is how he has done countless interviews describing this gearbox over and over again and every time he has the same passion and excitement and detail while explaining it as he had the first time he was asked.
I'm glad they were convinced to make another 20 of these. They're such rare cars, and I guess it's good for their business to produce these 20 examples more. Gemera is the apple of my eye, that car is such a motivation to get serious about my business. All the performance I need and them some, great electric-only performance and great highway range, with a bunch of people and bags on board. With just 2 people, space for loads more bags. Basically the fastest roadtripper. If not so flashy, a perfect cannonball runner :-D

Christian is an amazing engineer and seems like an awesome guy. I had the good fortune of seeing a Regera at Road America this summer and it drew a huge crowd. Everything they do is an engineering marvel and a work of art.
What a beautiful car. It’s very rare seeing 100s of years old companies that can keep their original shapes and mix it up with futuristic features and Koenigsegg which is younger than 30 years old, pulls up and designs one of the best looking and nostalgic car. I’d personally rate this car a 11 out of 10. Can’t wait to see how the performance is 🔥
Every industry needs a company whose mission statement includes "doing things that nobody else ever imagined could be done." I may never even sit in a Koenigsegg, but I'm so glad they exist.
I never loved the looks of the koenigsegg cars but Ive always marveled at the level of engineering and creativity of Christian and his crew for such a low volume company. Truly astonishing.
Two great guys in a lovely conversation on an absolute dream car and an unseen pack of innovation! Great episode, thank you! I'm a big fan since the CC8S 💘
I love hearing Christian talk about his cars and inventions, his ability to explain things very plainly is a proper proof of how well he knows the details in and out!
I lived down the road from Koenigsegg for almost a year. Had a brief factory tour but the joy was to see these things on the road during their "proving" drives.
He is my favorite human alive. So humble and likeable. First person ever I’d rather meet than have their car. I’d love an egg but to meet him would be better. A legend.
Christian is a gentleman whom you can listen to for hrs. Hearing and learning his vision of what an amazing car should be. Wow , I am enamoured by this man and the product he produces. Thank you 👍👍👍👍. Wishing this man all the success he deserves.
Midtown Madness introduced me to Koenigsegg with the CC way back in my childhood. I have been following their progress ever since and have been seriously impressed with the company and cars. There isn't much better than a modern Koenigsegg. Props to them...
This guy is an engineer extraordinary man. I could listen to him all day and never get bored. I love all of your work and I would love to own one of your cars one day. The thing is don't know when that day will arrived.

Christian is in a league of his own! Koneigsegg is my favourite super/hypercar manufacturer of all of them because they proved that they can outmatch all the giants (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti) with their engineering and technology. I love this new CC850 because not only does it look like the original CC8/CCX's of "old" but it just looks and sounds beautiful. It is my dream to own this car and an Agera RS one day
To be honest I really don't understand what Christian is saying about this unique and complicated gearbox but I'm totally impressed by this innovation. Amazing stuff.
I've loved Koenigsegg since the CC8S and this new iteration feels like a culmination of all the lessons learned through the all the legacy models. The clean shape will age really well too.
Not sure what price tag you mean with affordable. But it's unlikely. Then they would need to manufactured in volume. And I think they don't have the staff or spec for that. It a small company. They sell quality not quantity
@@RUclips_Globetrotter It’s too soon anyways.. say they made something just like a new corvette.. nobody in the market for a corvette in my area is buying it because they can’t drive it every weekend.. there is NOBODY interested in working on a koenigsegg around here you would have too pass it off too a euro sports car mechanic and say figure it out idc how long it takes💸💸💸💸💸
Christian is such a cool person. Inspiring and that manual concept is just lovely. I love the fact that eventhough those cars are out of the reach of most for those that can afford them they can still get that purist experience. 👍
The simplicity of the transmission, and mind boggling technology all in one?!! 🤯 So exciting to see such advancements. Listened to the break down of the creation and ingenuity of creating such a transmission. Almost like the old Chrysler hydromatics-ish, but to me a manual and an automatic 😱😱🤯!!!
Look at the SIZE of those brakes holy crap haha. I'll watch any video with christian. His massive breadth of knowledge is always entertaining to watch.
the best looking super car by far on the market. Pure, nothing over the top, no crazy vents, wings, unnecessary lines or creases on the body. Just stunning.
Koenigseggs are truly engineering fans cars. All about the engineering and design. Unlike the ferraris and lambos which are mostly about the external flashiness. This guy is a living legend.
I've always been a big fan of Koenigsegg, even since old Top Gear (and finding out the hard way that the rear end needed downforce), and I wish Koenigsegg well in their new premises, but I'm astounded at how Christian got his massive head into that hardhat! Also you can see why the roof needed to come off so they could sit in the cabin - Christian is not a small bloke.
Top Gear - Why aren't you filming in 4K? - you've got 8.51 million subs and still filming in 1080p. It's 2022. Even my £200 phone films in 4k - Shocking!
