My violins Label was torn out in around the 50s, and there's a lot of theories and storylines to my instrument, which makes it special.

Of course, nothing is wrong with getting a new violin from living makers. But remember that the great Itzhak Perlman even suggested players to get older violin if one has money to spend. It is an 'investment' that grows together with you. The value never drops. Just buy one with reputable certificate(s) from reputable place.
