- If you want to skip to the final results watch the last 8 minutes. But I would encourage you to skim through the rest of the video, as the results are somewhat different for each coating and each stain test. THE ONE YOU WANT TO BUY IS: 303 Marine Fabric Guard (Amazon): amzn.to/3NVsbMt
In this video I tested 9 different products on EVA boat flooring to see if any of them can help to protect against staining of oil, dirt, mud, and red wine. The results were not exactly what I expected for each product, but were exciting to see. The products I tested were 303 Aerospace, 303 Fabric Guard, Nikwax TX-Direct, Starbrite Waterproofing, Scotchgard Water and Sun, Bayes Fabric Protectant, Dr Beasleys Leather Lock, Dr Beasleys Leather Lock Pro, and Trinova Aeronautical Protectant..

Thank you for taking the time to make this. People like you make the world a much easier place to live in. God bless you.
God bless brother! Thanks for watching and I hope the video was helpful for you. Happy to answer any questions you might have.
Thanks for the video!
You got it! I hope it was helpful.
Very useful info-thank you! Going with the 303 marine fabric guard!
Glad you found it helpful. We have been very happy with the results on our boat.
Very informative video. Thanks for the time you put into this. Very useful.
Glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching!
I’m glad I came across this very thought out and executed test. I wish I would have been smart enough to put some type of guard on when I installed EVA in my boat mid last season. I just started thinking about a thorough cleaning and scotch guard for this upcoming season. Now it seems I need to look at 303. Thanks for your effort!
Glad you found the video helpful! Best way I have found to was the EVA flooring in general is carwash soap. Get the regular one, not the ones with waxes in them. Then mix it about twice as strong as it recommends for normal car washing. Get a soft bristle brush and work the soap in circles until you're done with the floor, then rinse, then rinse again. Let it all dry and repeat if necessary. Once you get it as clean as it's going to get then let it dry thoroughly and then go back and coat it with the 303. Good luck! And let me know how it goes!
Nicely done! FYI... in regards to the Dr. Beasley's products:
Leather Lock: water-based, 24-48 hour cure time, 1 year service life
Leather Lock Pro: solvent-based, 2-3 hour cure time, 5 year service life... and yes, this is a ceramic coating for leather (or leather-like surfaces). A coating saver type applicator may help with the application to the EVA foam.
Thank you! Great information on the Dr. Beasleys. I actually used the Leather Lock Pro on our BMW X7 on all the leather surfaces and had great results! I did a video on that as well incase you are curious to see the process that I used. ruclips.net/video/wagEVhDyiaE/видео.html
@@NKPGarage I'm going to check it out now! Thanks!
@@directorofsuccess let me know what you think!!
Great video just ordered 303 Fabric Guard to try on SeaDek through your link - thanks!
Thanks! Ours has been holding up really well. I also use the same 303 on all of the vinyl surfaces on the boat and it has helped keep them easier to clean as well. It's been a fantastic product to keep our boat clean. Good luck on yours, and let me know how it goes.
Thanks for doing this. Ill be picking up some 303.
Absolutely! Glad it was helpful. Make sure you get the correct 303 bottle. I put the link in the video description.
Great video, very well done!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks! It was a fun experiment for me and my little boys. I hope it's helpful to other fellow boaters out there!
Try Dawn Power Wash. It cleaned off grease ground in buy a shoe and left no trace on EVA foam
Great tip!
Thanks, excellent review!
ThankS!
Great video, thanks a lot!!! 1 question after treating with 303 is the flooring any more slippery when wet?
Nope. We didn’t notice any difference in traction or slipperiness. Felt the same
Great video, thanks for sharing. If we're just looking to waterproof the snap on boat covers, would you say the Scotchgard sun and water would be the choice? It seemed to bead up the most.
For the cover or anything that's canvas type material. The best thing I have found is the starbright product. I did a video of it as well here: ruclips.net/video/9mU6NtscQbM/видео.html
another product that may be interesting to test on EVA foam would be Dr. Beasley's Carpet and Upholstery Protection.
That may definitely be worth a shot. I'm always up for testing more stuff to find what works and how well. I may get some ordered up and do a follow up test. I still have a few large sheets of EVA left that keep staring at me in the garage! :)
Did you use the 303 on your boat and if so how is it holding up
Yes, we applied it on all of our flooring and it has held up great. Flooring still look fantastic. If you want to skip watching all the testing, this is the stuff you want to order. Apply once every 6 months after a good wash and you're good to go. No more grease stains, no more water stains, no more cheeto and red wine stains. Just enjoy your boat and rinse it off with water when you're done. amzn.to/3NVsbMt
what brand of foam was this used on
This was on our current boat. Using Aquamarine Deck foam flooring. I also it on our friends boat with Seadek flooring and it was great. It’ll work the same on just about any type of foam flooring.
How do you apply the 303? Just spray on and let it dry?
Yup. Spray it on well and saturate the flooring. Let it dry for 24 hours. And that's it. And make sure to clean the flooring well before applying.
@@NKPGarage so you don't wipe it off at all just let it soak in? Have you found anything that will give the EVA decking a bit of gloss/shine, I used it on the interior cabin sole.
@@rodstright6729 You got it. You don't wipe it at all. Just let it air dry and cure. I would steer clear of anything that gives it a shine, because it may also make it slippery.
Hi guys there is a far better product on the market completely stain resistant you can even tip acetone all over it won't even touch it quite power wash job done 👍
Interesting, what type of flooring are you referring to?
Great video using alot of products, Is EVA what Sedek is made of?
Yup. Seadek uses EVA
