There's a *win* that you missed, in Homecoming, Happy didn't even give a damn about Peter, with having to basically babysit him and be his chauffeur and whatnot, but in this movie, after Endgame, Happy acts like a second father towards Peter because he knew this kid just went through A-LOT of Hell. Thanos wiping him out, being crushed alive under a buildng, getting injured in the Endgame war, and the worst of all: Watching Tony die right in front of him...
Well to be fair Tony in homecoming made references to the things peter said in his voicemails to happy so while Peter thought he was being Ignored he really wasn’t
Personally, I think Happy is implicitly trying NOT to be a father figure for Peter, just kind. He understands what Peter is going through, but he doesn't want to be yet another father figure (hence why especially in the beginning he's trying to not seem like he's flirting with Aunt May, who is a maternal figure for Peter). He relates to and feels for Peter, but also knows a father figure isn't who he needs right now. Either way, Happy is always a win.
I loved the “in memoriam” segment. To these kids, and most of the world, these Heroes died fighting for them. So they probably picture each one having an epic final standing, fighting until their last breaths for them. They probably have no idea that Cap retired. It gives me chills to think about how THEY think these heroes went down. Blaze of glory.
Yeah and you wanna know a win taken away? The fact that he loses that VERY SAME CASE the one that belonged to Beloved UNCLE BEN, and doesn’t even care about it, he just literally forgets about it One of my many problems with this movie
SavageWonton honestly, it’s just a suitcase, not every item a dead relative has is super important to their family. U know what else was in that suitcase? The Homecoming suit aka Tony’s first ever gift to Peter(also has way more personal value to Peter) is destroyed but Peter never whines about that. Even if he (understandably) did cry about that no one would like that although it makes WAY more sense.
No Sanctuary let’s take a moment to process what u just said, I’m really astonished by that train of logic, it makes no sense. Because we haven’t heard of someone or that (dead) person is never mentioned, they don’t exist. Wow.
I wish you had winned my favorite line from Happy's "pep talk." "No one can live up to Tony. Not even Tony." Just letting him know hey, stop chasing the legend of iron man. You'll never catch it, not because you're not good enough but because it doesn't exist. It's a legend and not even the man behind it could catch it. He tore himself up trying to catch it just like you're doing right now. To me that was the part that let Peter out of Tony's shadow.
It remembers me of a moment in "The Ultimates" where Tony Stark is in the floor, scared as fuck after stop a falling alien spaceship of destroying part of the city of New York, saying things like "No one is as smart as everyone believe I am".
Yeah the marketing made me worry the franchise would treat Tony like the second coming of Christ from this point forward. But Happy reminds us Tony was a human who couldn’t meet peoples expectations and constantly second guessing himself
It took me awhile to get used to it, because I knew Mysterio was a Spider-Man villain, but I didn't know the movie version actually followed parts of the comic characters plan.
10:13 something else about this scene is that in civil war When Tony says barf the audience gives no reaction But in this movie everyone laughs hysterically at it showing that Beck remembers the experience differently than it actually happened
I actually have a bit of a double take when I see him in another movie. First reaction is "what the hell does Jameson have to do with this?" Double edged sword for being so, SO good at a role.
I love that Peter and happy actually have some kind of a connection now but more importantly, I love the way happy proves its him with the uh...(cough)...Germany incident
6:57 when Betty says "I know you think none of us have noticed Peter" you can see Ned get this look of fear, but when she continues "your new look, I love it" You can see his face switch from fear to relief, like he thought she was going to say something about Peter's identity. Just something cool I noticed
I actually found it more fun because of that. I came into the movie knowing Mysterio was the villain, because... well, Mysterio, duh. But the acting and all was so good I really started to think "Did MCU decide to re-do Mysterio as a hero...?". This movie's Mysterio fooled me, just like he would fool me if I wouldn't know him, but because I did, it was all the more impressive.
i get why they do it, but idk that feels weird. how do you play a part without knowing the full picture? tom holland is a pretty damn good actor for being able to do that.
@@sara-vf5xz yah it's really hard. I'm mostly a stage actor and me and my friends Kinda just dive into things without reading the script.(Like we are given it and the next second we start practicing it) and it's pretty hard to get all the emotions and intonations right when you have no clue what your saying and what the next person is about to say
A win I noticed is when May says "Where's your bag? Oh right it got blasted" when she picked him up at the airport, a little nod to the running gag that he keeps losing his bags 😆
Funny story: When i saw this movie in theatres, there was an earthquake, which i thought was part of the movie at first. A bunch of people left the theatre. I stayed, and the earthquake stopped. Later, I said i was mad at the Earthquake for interrupting my movie.
It's not that. It's the fact that a banana isn't perceived as a threat to his spidey sense. You see that in NWH too, where Andrew's Peter doesn't dodge the bread thrown at him by an MJ he doesn't even know
It is also said in the movie that the B.A.R.F drone hallucinations are linked to your brain, so that’s why Peter couldn’t sense what was real and what was not
One of the best scenes had to been when Peter questioned if it was actually Happy in the tulip field with the private jet. Holland's emotions of fear and paranoia were so well portrayed, the audience felt every bit of it and were pleased when Peter hugged Happy. It makes sense since Peter just went through mental and physical torture, causing him to doubt everything which also relates to Beck's manipulation and his goal to crush Peter by using everything he likes against him. So Peter would fear if Happy was a trap because he really cares for Happy and knows that Beck could've tapped his call and use him against Peter.
Exactly. I liked how affected he was and how we/he could never know for sure if something was an illusion or real. I mean how is one supposed to deal with that without freaking out, especially at a young age?!
dude, this isn't the first movie to literally have that scene and it sure won't be the last\ also, thats some real exaggeration, i'd hardly call it mental or physical torture lol
@@thisbubblygoodness7611 Having a mentor/father figure who recently died death be blamed on you,Knowing a man has the ability to kill all your friends and family and Realizing that you gave him the power to do so,All while jus being a teenager stressed about a girl,He was definitely tortured and beaten to a mess There is no way u can deny that
@@CalamityCtrl which is stupid, considering that Peter has nothing to do with Tony Stark's death and your comment alone has somehow managed to gravitate towards the idea of danger more then the entire freaking film i mean, kill Peter's friends and family? a little too risky for Disney, better lighten the mood with a a joke about endgame yeah nah, maybe if this movie had a bit more emotional weight to it then maybe getting tortured or stressing about girls will actually mean something in this movie
Fun fact: That's also why venom is immune to his spider sense in the comics. He was bonded to the symbiote for so long it no longer registers as a threat, and other sybiotes born from it inherited this trait.
Which does make sense when you think about it, if you truly trust someone then you have one less thing to think hyper fixate on meaning you can focus more on the stuff that you don't trust
During the B.A.R.F intro in Civil War, the audience doesn't laugh, whereas in the Far From Home flashback, the audience laughs, showing that Mysterio remembers the event being more humiliation than it actually was
True conclusion: Aunt May never sets off his Spider Sense because that aspect is an awareness and alertness of incoming threats and danger. Aunt May is neither of those things to him. There's also a transition period which is how he realized he was in love with Black Cat. Because one night she tackled him and his Spider Sense went off, the next night she slammed right into him. Because he loved her, she was no longer a threat.
@@kurogane1594 As long as they get her right. I was really looking forward to Felicity playing Felicia. I just hope we don't get a Felicia Hardy like the MJ we got.
@@xiphos8219 yes I was so excited to see Black Cat in TASM 3, shame it got cancelled. I feel like we won't really see her anytime soon considering the way things are rn. @@kurogane1594 She better not be the "real" MJ, because that's not just changing skin color like Human Torch/Michael B. Jordan, they're literally changing the entire character.
Maximum kitty obviously I get the joke... in fact I was chipping in with another. Thomas is another/long version of Tom and Netherlands is the country that Holland is in.
geoffishy If we’re gonna be real technical here “Holland” doesnt exist North-Holland and South-Holland also people use Holland instead of The Netherlands wich is incorrect
I think that, the big thing that sets you apart from the CinemaSins channel is that you don’t just make jokes about how a film is bad and leave it there, you actually stop and give a short video essay at the end about *why* you feel the way you do. Good show man
@Razh 80 funny little side note, I always thought that Absorbing Man was a Hulk villain (considering that he teams up with The Leader and The Abomination in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes) but nope, he's a Thor villain (one of them, anyway).
i love how meta mysterio is as a villain. he's a cgi villain IN UNIVERSE, and also i love how his entire lied backstory is so far-fetched and ridiculous, that post-thanos earth can't help but believe it.
also, the illusions (especially around the fury twist) completely boggled my mind. i've never seen it done so well in a movie before and only had something similar reading 1984.
i also, final note, love the meta level on the movie titles. homecoming: after some weird stuff, we go back to what we now spider-man is at the heart. he's a kid, but he's also a neighborhood hero. far from home: we're going in a direction where no spider-man series has ever gone. with his identity revealed, we're going 'far from' the familiar set-up.
It honestly is one of my favorite lines in the whole MCU when Happy talks to Peter. "No one could live up to Tony. Not even Tony." Such an accurate statement and really brought me back to the original Iron Man trilogy before Infinity War and Endgame had him blasting into space in two seconds and solving the puzzle of time travel.
This was an understated line of genius as the first Tony literally lost, so he had go back in time as another version of himself to be the hero who sacrified everything, saved Earth and still died. Happy said that first sentence in past tense (past Tony), btw, while the next fragment is perfect present?
you genuinely thought they were funny?? they were total time wasters i mean, how the fuck is calling spider-man 'nightmonkey' anything to laugh at? thats some 12 year old shit right there
lmao, you both know im right, this movie's grasp for humour was unbearable can't take my grammar seriously? well now you know how i felt after watching FFH
Missed win: The schools news anchors have the green glow from the green screen still on their faces because that can't be edited out liv, or even if it could they're on a school's budget.
What I love about this movie, is how real the characters feel. You didn’t show it, but after the plane lands, you get a real sense that Peter is struggling with ptsd, but because he feels like he was in Tony’s shadow, he couldn’t talk about it, or even delve in on it. I’m sure after the snap he had some serious self doubt about his character. But not only that, it he lost, a father figure, who’s idolized, gained a new father figure, who turns out to want to kill him in what? A few months, years? The impact from when he met Happy and they talked again is huge. He was just in a huge fight where nothing was real, the only thing real was his injuries. He needed something real, but with what he went through, he couldn’t get a feel for it. Peter and Happys hug was a huge changer for Peter. It gave him stability. We have to remember, Peter is a 16-18 year old with PTSD, everything he went through is difficult to deal with as an adult, nevermind a teenager. He needed to feel secure and less shadowed, which helped him in the end. Maybe I’m over thinking it, or maybe it’s because he feels that way, that makes him feel more real to me as a teenager who struggles with ptsd... idk, but I love him.
I think it was a really nice touch that the ever-trusting Peter immediately asks Happy to prove he is not an illusion. They played it for a joke, but the relief on his face in war with the doubt that he wants this so desperately to be true but afraid it isn't, was just heartwrenching.
18:35 Also this scene shows Peter being cut off before he can finish “What the f-!?” just like Aunt May was cut off saying the same thing at the end of Homecoming after seeing Peter come back into his room as Spider-man.
The one thing I wished you won was that when fake Mysterio hands Peter the glasses in the final scene, his hand moves as if he’s aiming a gun, because that’s what REAL Mysterio is doing.
69th like but flash should see pete and not know if he should fanboy, be terrified by the framed "murderer," or be kinda worried that peter having enough of his shit and punching him through the entire school
@@andybilyak there was a comic when Peter had enough of flash's shit and then challenges him to a boxing match, he was so fast in dodging flash's attacks that everyone thought Peter was scared and was running away from him, the fight ended when Peter punched flash and he was thrown out of the ring, and the punch was so fast that nobody saw it and thought flash tripped and fell
I just want to say I'm really happy about the meta-ness of me asking "the guy off-mic" why I had never used 'chemistry' as a win before to find out that I did in Baby Driver. I honestly never would have expected I would forget something like that and so many of you would immediately remember. But you're all correct! I even said it twice in the video.
15:20 Just want to let You and everyone else know, the rifles the queens guard carry are loaded. They are some of the toughest soldiers in the British army; even trained to faint at attention in blistering hot weather. They deserve far more respect than the public and tourists give them.
Wrecking Ball0 to be fair, it could reasonably be either. Accidentally shooting webs due to tightness in the wrists at any given moment is arguably worse than the other option.
When Beck is handing the glasses to Peter, he's holding the glasses as if they were a gun he was aiming at Peter meanwhile he's really holding and aiming a gun at Peter
My favorite part of the movie is the small details, like the fact that Peter's still panicking, and trying to calm down when 'Fury' starts talking to him.
peters dusting is really sad. Once i read a theory about how due to his spidey sense and self healing abilities he could sense it was going to happen and had a glorified panic attack while his body was frantically trying to reconstruct itself. Now everytime i hear about any aspect of infinity war i just get sad and cry because the idea that tiny child had to go through that (despite the fact its a work of fiction AND its all just a theory) is terrifying to me. Thanks for listening to my ted talk Hopefully i didn't just ruin your week with peter feels
That’s not true at all, The infinity stones are the pinnacle of power and Thanos’ snap made sure that half of everything no matter the ability would dust away, Peters body wouldn’t try to fix itself because the reality stone altered his healing ability. Also, he’s not a tiny child
I'd like to point out that when Beck tries to shoot Peter with the handgun in the climax, his projection is holding the Edith glasses like as if it were a handgun. Details. Crazy good. Edit for time stamp: 20:01. When paused, you can see his pointer and middle finger wrapped around what would be the trigger and trigger guard, while his ring and pinkie are wrapped around the grip. And he hands the glasses pointed straight at him, like pointing a gun.
Yeah after rewatching the movie and knowing he had a gun in his hand, I noticed the finger placement too. That's a really subtle but good detail they added.
Two wins i think he missed: 1) Whenever we see Mysterio flying around or using his powers, he never makes physical contact with peter, or anyone else. As a hologram, he would make sure to not and avoid exposing himself. 2) At the end of Age of Ultron, Fury says he wants to go on vacation in the Bahamas. I don't think it was a Tahiti refrence
I love how Zendaya plays such different characters and nails it every time! Rue and MJ are so unique and have completely other lives, but Zendaya truly makes them come to life.
The life lesson of the movie, quote from Frigga in Endgame: "Everyone fails at who they are supposed to be. The measure of a person, of a hero is how well they succeed at being who they are."
Hm, one more Spidey appearance that blows every possibility of quality out of the water, or one absolute shocker of an emotional ride outside of the Web-Head’s web of a world. Then he’s good for it.
“He’s not bored,he’s just thinking about how you kidnapped him.” Love this Beck is so dry witted and hilarious here, and technically he’s correct about it being a kidnapping since Talos/Fury maneuvered the situation to get Peter exactly where he wanted him and basically dragged him from his hotel room to those catacombs. All that to say this was a great moment!
Even though I know Mysterio is a villain in the comics, Beck’s character was so endearing that I actually started to believe he was a good guy from another Earth and that the villain Mysterio was from our Earth. That twist got me even though I knew it was probably coming. Fantastic.
That's kind of the advantage of only being a casual fan of comic book characters. You know enough to generally recognize plenty of the characters, but not enough to know all the details about who they are. So when you first see a character you know that's supposed to be a villain but they appear to be one of the the good guys, it just becomes a question of why and when the eventual flip will happen.
John McMillen I even knew his thing was illusions and yet i still began to believe that he wasn’t a villain. The whole multiple earths thing helped since technically they could do a Cillian Mysterious storyline if they have different universes, but it was all a trick
I think this happened to my friend. I was like: He's lying he's lying. He is a trickster. The comics say he has illusions and show himself as a hero. He's lying. My friend was like: nahh I don't think so. This version looks like he's an actual hero. Then I was like: CALLED IT
I didn't actually believed in him. But only because I kept reminding myself of that. And I actually believed in his "I regret" vibe while dying right until the post-credit scene! And that because I've read a lot of comics with him as a Villan...
Like, I knew he was a villain who used illusions but I was willing to buy that they'd changed it for this movie...Up until Fire Man was defeated and I immediately went "There's no way this movie was that short. Alright, so how does he do it? .....OH THAT'S HOW! Brilliant! "
Everyone makes fun and memes of how marvel characters go undercover by wearing a simple hat (and maybe glasses). Yet almost no one noticed Beck in the background Edit: Thank you for all the likes guys. My first comment to be so popular :D

He's wearing a mo-cap suit at the time, so that makes perfect sense in continuity. I like that they put that much attention into even the details of how he held the sunglasses.
I wanna say that This whole movie Just perfectly adapts mysterious origins Pretending to be a good guy killing illusion bad guys only to get owned by Peter when he realises mysterios a bitch They just added all the mcu and Peter stuff to round out the movie and added to mysterio to fit the arc of the film
I saw the trailer and I was like- “Oh cool. Mysterio’s the next villain!” But there were all these people like- “Stop spOilIng it!!!” any time someone brought up Mysterio. Which is...ehhhh....
"No one could live up to Tony. Not even Tony". Then you remember Tony`s entire life, and realize that yep, he was as flawed as anyone else, even though most didn`t see it.
The other neat thing about that statement is that "Tony" and "Iron Man" were also characters to the MCU. Tony's been in the news all his life, both as "Tony Stark, genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist" and "Iron Man, Avenger, Earth's Defender". Being a celebrity, a stigma was created that he *_had_* to act and be a certain way. People had expectations of him that they wanted him to live up to as a public persona. But Tony couldn't live up to the expectations put on him as both Tony Stark and Iron Man, and he realized that lesson painfully well in Endgame. I'd even argue that meeting Peter helped Tony realize that.
Some nice details about Beck's last illusion: -The real Beck had wet, unkempt hair in the scene. His hologram had dry, perfectly combed hair to look more presentable. -His arm movement as he holds out the glasses is the exact same movement he makes to point the gun at Peter. Also, I bet that Mysterio will return, but Beck will actually be dead. His team of vengeful Stark employees still has the tech and software to create the illusions.
Actually, a couple of months before this film came into theater, there was an interview with one of the Dutch people who played in the Dutch part on Dutch radio. He said they did a part with a super hero in a big movie and that it was so weird and stuff. I only found out that interview was about this movie like three months ago. It's crazy.
"I know you think none of us have noticed, Peter, but your new look: I love it" I love this line because Peter's 'new style' happened a second before that line. So, obviously none of them had noticed, or they would have also noticed that it didn't previously exist.
Remember that Tony line in Homecoming where Peter says "I wanted to be like you" and he says "and I wanted you to be better" He must've carried that pressure all the way to 2023 up until Happy finally relieved him of his misunderstanding about what Tony meant, to him it must've meant to be better than Iron Man, to be his successor, but for Tony he meant to be his legacy, someone anybody can look up to and rely on, not another Iron Man. Pulling from the Titans tv show as Bruce says to Dick: "Stronger, Faster- not Robin."
Teenagers and kids fixate on statements like these and cling to them if they don’t have anything else to cling to in their mores. Learning to make good moral choices is a struggle that teens go through enough in a home and school environment. Adding the superhero element to a teen means that teenagers make bigger and lasting mistakes without the safety net. Tony was trying to be a good dad since Peter didn’t have one to lean on, but it was a no-win situation from the get-go.
@@twokaiizer This whole movie here is saying the complete opposite. Tbh, I actually see Spider-Man becoming more Spider-Man than Iron Man Jr that I had a tad bit of feeling in Homecoming.
@@twokaiizer Not really, he lives under Tonys shadow in Homecoming and feels like he has to be like him and FFH has him finally realising he doesn't need to be like him and finally becomes his own hero. And they don't forget about uncle ben, it's just time has passed since Ben's death and they already had him two different franchises and a third time would be too much
IMHO the entire MJ storyline is a massive win. It's so cute because this time it's reciprocal and they don't even know it. It's a nice refresh of the tired: boy moons after pretty girl who never noticed him cliché/trope. Much more modern and fun. It brings her into things and makes her a much more interesting character.
@@IshtarNike Yeah as much as I love the Tobey Macguire movies, I hated MJ. Even though their version of her was closer to the comics, it just didn't feel right. With Zendaya's version, even though it's not very canon, I think they nailed it.
The 5th King Please don't insult comic MJ; she's nothing like Raimi MJ. Comic MJ is fully supportive of Peter to the point that he routinely remarks that she's the one thing that keeps him together, and there's a very real, intimate romantic chemistry between the two. Raimi MJ is just an emotional leach that can be borderline abusive. She's also a damsel in distress scream queen, much like all of Sam Raimi's female characters. I do agree with you about MCU MJ, though. MCU MJ is definitely better than Raimi and PS4 MJ, but not as good as 616 MJ. She has a pretty interesting and unique personality for a superhero love interest, she and Peter have some romantic chemistry (albeit awkward, but they're teenagers, so it can't slide) unlike Raimi and PS4 where the romance feels ridiculously forced, and I also don't mind the race change. Peter rarely goes out with anyone other than white women in most Spider-Man media (only a few exceptions to this), and I think that it's nice diversity. What I especially like about this MJ. Is that she's not a damsel in distress like Raimi MJ, but at the same time, she's not a Mary Sue like PS4 MJ. Most superhero romantic interests either fall into one of those two categories. They either haves to be saved by the hero at every turn or are overly confident to the point that they can inexplicably defeat supervillains and usually end up saving the hero, which is really annoying and dumb. They've seemingly found the perfect balance with this MJ. As proven when she hit the drone with the mace, she can somewhat take care of herself and isn't just a helpless damsel in distress. However, she's still just a normal human, so while she can create a distraction for herself and others to get to safety, she still needs superhuman help like anyone else would, as evidenced by the fact that the drone recovered pretty quickly and was only temporarily staggered by the blow. It's a great cliche dodge. MJ and Peter's relationship in the comics is just way too fantastic and adorable, though. I highly doubt that they could realistically come close to it on film. Didn't mean to rant to you, just felt like writing all of this for some reason.
@@djrocksgaming i disgaree, so as long as MJ maintains the helplessly boring girlfriend figure to peter parker, then she's perfect huh? like, Sam Raimi's MJ was a damsel at the end of each movie, that's a fair critique that i agree with, but at least she has a character arc, and how the hell is PS4 MJ even a Mary Sue? she hasn't saved spiderman nor defeated any villains, she has helped out where she could, but somehow that's too much for some gamers? MCU version of MJ isn't exactly perfect either, and you've detailed why, you could take MJ out of Far From Home and it wouldn't change anything about the plot itself, she likes Peter and Peter likes her, that's the extent of who she is at least with Raimi and PS4 MJ, their relationships with their respective Peter Parkers weren't perfect, and had room to grow, the chemistry between them starts to change as the stories progressed but no, MCU MJ is the best, why? well because their relationship is 'cute'... that's literally it. piss poor reason
Djrocks Gaming jeez, it took me awhile to read your comment. Yeah, i don’t know if we will ever see that relationship close to the comics counterpart, but what I do know is that this 3rd Spider-Man movie to going to put Peter to some new heights. And I’m still hoping that Matt Murdock defends Spider-Man since his identity is revealed.
One line from Beck/Mysterio I liked was when he learned that one of his helpers screwed up and let a drone get captured by MJ, who then told Peter the truth: “Now I’m going to have to kill Peter Parker!” He says it in a way that is regretful. He never wanted to kill him and never planned to do so. I think that was a good, underrated character moment
I just love how they modernized Quentin Beck’s origin story as an actor and an illusionist, literally having a whole “movie production” type team and making things seem real using SFX... I swear, him and the Vulture are the best ways you could bring these villains into the modern world...
Yeah magic (even though the Gauntlet is technically magic and yeah, Thor and Asgard, too) and a bald man with spandex and wings wouldn't fit very well into this universe. But that's why I love it!
@Robbie Drake How is it not? His original motivation isn't even really justification, nor a motive. In all MCU films, they try to give the characters an at least somewhat decent motivation. Beck just being a failed actor isn't a good one. His movie motivation is much better. Its simple, but not to the point of idiocy.
Seeing the scene where the band kids suddenly appear in the middle of the basketball court and run into the players has always made me wonder, what would happen if you were standing directly where someone else was standing, and they got snapped back into existence? Would you just get pushed out of the way, or like both you just die instantly in a bloody mess? Or like what would happen if you were standing somewhere, let’s say on a cross walk, and when you re appear, there is a car right where you re appear, you would most likely get chopped into little bits
I’m Dutch and as soon as the scene in the Netherlands started playing everyone in the theater gasped and started laughing so hard since that scene is just so stereotyped!😂❤️ still love it tho
I'm so glad with how they did Mysterio. He is such a rubbish villain (in the best way possible) that I thought could only be done well in a film if they actually made him magic... but they didn't. He's just a guy in a mo-cap suit and they made it amazing. Absolutley stunning execution.
Mysterio is one of those villains I wasn't sure how they'd make the transition work (not that I'm well versed on the comic version) but tying things back to Tony Stark in a similar way to Vulture worked incredibly well on multiple levels. As an audience, we know that Stark wasn't exactly the best person and all of the villains he's helped create really adds to the feel of the universe.
they made it a believable character for a 2019 live action movie. We have enough superpowered villains. Having a regular guy with lots of experience in tech and holograms, they did so well.
Mohammad Gm Jake did AMAZING. At first i was like eh the mcu maybe isn’t a good place for his acting but he did great. He went wild with his character.
This was honestly the best spiderman film for me, which makes me even more honoured to have been an extra on this film! The girl on the far left at 14:09 is me with one of my friends! So also a win for being on cinemawins!
A little detail that I’ve loved since homecoming is how whenever peter has a successful interaction with his crushes he does this little skip afterwards that’s just really sweet and helps sell Peter also just being a kid
I actually love Happy in this movie when he shows up to help Peter he comes in like the dad when the son knows he really messed up and he needs help. I nearly cried when peter called out to him like he did not know if he is real
Seriously, I liked the other Spidermans, but Tom Holland is my favorite. He does literally 95% of his own stunts, his chemistry with the other cast members is incredible, and he's such a relatable Spiderman even though we aren't necessarily superheros ourselves. He's understandable, and I love that so much. The movies he's in make me laugh, they make me cry, they make me angry, they make me cringe, and they make me smile. Everyone does such an amazing job!
Absolutely and one thing I also love is how when push comes to shove he puts on the suit and gets to work, not just to save his friends but also save everyone, i.e. preventing Vulture from selling alien and Stark tech to the wrong people and Mysterio committing mass murder and colateral damage to boost his farse.
Yeah he's probably the better overall spiderman. He does really well with both peter parker and spiderman. The others did phenomenal for one role and couldn't really fill up the other one that well. Tom's spiderman may be hated on a lot for being "cringey and just funny with no responsibility" but people forget that is his whole arc. He hasn't learned to take responsibilities as he is very much a teenager.
2:30 He absolutely does have Spider Sense, this movie had him refining and embracing it. Remember, he sensed Thanos' ship and his impending demise in Infinity War or he caught the webbing pod in Civil War.
I didn't know of Mysterio from the comics and when he showed up I was like, 'Wow that guy is so cool, that's a cool superhero' but also to me something seemed off because he seemed just too perfect, like too good to be true. I think I'm developing my own Peter-tingle.
The film pretty much nails Mysterio, they make some changes but his character is pretty comic accurate with how he manipulates people into thinking he's some hero but then turning out to be a villain
I never read any comics so I had no idea who he was and I try not to have to many theory’s of what’s gonna happen I try to just let it unfold and I was genuinely caught off guard by the twist and I was caught so off guard and I loved it I love most of the characters in the MCU pretty evenly because they all have they’re own things that make their movies/characters so great but their is something about Tom Holland’s Spider-Man that just puts him over the top in how entertaining it is. Maybe because I’m only 23 so it’s just so relatable
Can we please talk about how in the bar, the song ‘Town Called Malice’ is playing in the background, first lyrics are ‘stop dreaming of the quiet life, the one we’ll never know’. Right after Fury is telling him to decide to step up or not. So subtle, but absolute genius
The most relatable thing was the kids in the school show griping about how they need to retake mid-terms, and one missed win, there are pictures of military service medals on the walls of the bar to subconciously show Peter that Beck is better than him.
16:31 that moment will never not give me chills. Peter reaches out completely on instinct, and he almost didn’t even realize he even did it until he looked over at Beck completely broken and betrayed. (It’s not shown here) That moment, you could see every emotion piled up on top of him after everything that’s happened and what Beck did to him. His eyes are glassy, borderlined unfocused, and his face and suit are cut up and bloody. That moment he stopped the bullet was the moment he stepped out of Tony’s shadow and the “I need a mentor” mentality.
@@JakkFrost1 Even the end of season 5 where the Earth almost gets destroyed and General Talbot goes around the Earth making giant pillars so he can get gravitonium is something I think the Avengers or Fury would notice. Let alone, in the show itself they make no mentions of the events of IW in the most recent season. I wish they still threw in subtle references here and there, even if its not in continuity anymore. Like I thought it was pretty cool when they were referencing the Triskellion being destroyed after The Winter Soldier came out and certain things of that nature.
@@ImThe5thKing ~ Yeah, that point is around where AoS diverged from the MCU, because the end of that season almost perfectly coincided with IW coming out. I was expecting at least some of the team, especially either May or Coulson in that "finally enjoying their retirement" scene, to get dusted in the snap as part of the season-ending cliffhanger, thus bringing one of them back looking for answers. And since, at the time, AoS was only confirmed renewed for one last _half_ season, I assumed that entire half-season would be the team dealing with the aftermath of the snap, and the season (or series) finale would lead directly into Endgame. But as we know now, that's not how it went at all, and instead AoS is no longer contiguous with the MCU.
Well to be fair Tony in homecoming made references to the things peter said in his voicemails to happy so while Peter thought he was being Ignored he really wasn’t

happy might die in Spiderman 3

(Benjamin Franklin Parker).
Wow. 😳
Yeah and you wanna know a win taken away?
The fact that he loses that VERY SAME CASE the one that belonged to Beloved UNCLE BEN, and doesn’t even care about it, he just literally forgets about it
One of my many problems with this movie
@@savagewonton6986 it might just be a comic reference for the fans, because uncle Ben hasn't even been mentioned so he probably doesn't exist.
Wow.
I wish you had winned my favorite line from Happy's "pep talk."
"No one can live up to Tony. Not even Tony."
Just letting him know hey, stop chasing the legend of iron man. You'll never catch it, not because you're not good enough but because it doesn't exist. It's a legend and not even the man behind it could catch it. He tore himself up trying to catch it just like you're doing right now.
To me that was the part that let Peter out of Tony's shadow.
He essentially touched on that point.
It remembers me of a moment in "The Ultimates" where Tony Stark is in the floor, scared as fuck after stop a falling alien spaceship of destroying part of the city of New York, saying things like "No one is as smart as everyone believe I am".
@TheFirstWheel and then Peter definitively proves how not-Tony he is by getting the band wrong
Yeah the marketing made me worry the franchise would treat Tony like the second coming of Christ from this point forward. But Happy reminds us Tony was a human who couldn’t meet peoples expectations and constantly second guessing himself
the moment happy clarifies that in his chase to be iron man, he's actually more like tony than he thinks, and he shouldn't be
The Mysterio illusion sequence has to ONE OF the best scenes in the mcu imo!! They really nailed bringing the character to life!
It took me awhile to get used to it, because I knew Mysterio was a Spider-Man villain, but I didn't know the movie version actually followed parts of the comic characters plan.
And its so painful to think how those 3-5 minutes of footage took them 9 months to make but those 9 months make it stick in my mind fir a lifetime

I love that Peter and happy actually have some kind of a connection now but more importantly, I love the way happy proves its him with the uh...(cough)...Germany incident
Can relate, I'm seventeen and still struggle with trusting people over little things

Tom Holland's acting in that scene wrenched my heart. You could see how broken and scared Peter was. Great acting.
6:57 when Betty says "I know you think none of us have noticed Peter" you can see Ned get this look of fear, but when she continues "your new look, I love it" You can see his face switch from fear to relief, like he thought she was going to say something about Peter's identity. It's been explained that Aunt May never causes the Spidy Sense to trigger because Peter never could consider her a threat
no, his spider sense was messed up because of the snap

It honestly is one of my favorite lines in the whole MCU when Happy talks to Peter.
"No one could live up to Tony. Not even Tony."
Such an accurate statement and really brought me back to the original Iron Man trilogy before Infinity War and Endgame had him blasting into space in two seconds and solving the puzzle of time travel.
This was an understated line of genius as the first Tony literally lost, so he had go back in time as another version of himself to be the hero who sacrified everything, saved Earth and still died.

I feel like at this point Tom Holland should always be a win.
Hm, one more Spidey appearance that blows every possibility of quality out of the water, or one absolute shocker of an emotional ride outside of the Web-Head’s web of a world. Then he’s good for it.
Every shot with Tom in it should be an automatic win.
I wanna see him in a film where he isn't a teenager being kinda awkward then we shall see bout the always a win
No Jake
No
Never noticed the sharp "Yeah." every time Peter called Maria Hill "ma'am". That's some keen attention to detail!
I swear Peter’s Teacher is probably so depressed.
Blobster 6129 In the first movie they actually cut out a lot of scenes where he was coping with his wife leaving him.
Yet almost no one noticed Beck in the background

When the fake version of Mysterio is giving Peter E.D.I.T.H, he holds it like a gun.
Wow! That’s amazing!
He's wearing a mo-cap suit at the time, so that makes perfect sense in continuity. I like that they put that much attention into even the details of how he held the sunglasses.

I had him pegged from the start
I think the greatest part of this video is the fact that the “little tight around the webshooter” joke is win number 69
"No one could live up to Tony. Not even Tony". Then you remember Tony`s entire life, and realize that yep, he was as flawed as anyone else, even though most didn`t see it.
Daniel Medela especially a reference to iron man 3 where tony was a mess
I actually watched the Ironman movies today very fitting
Tony wasn’t Tony cause RDJ is the definition of Tony Stank
Why are your apostrophes backwards?
Can we appreciate the fact that both Spider-Man movies ended with a cut-censor the f-word?
I realized that too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some nice details about Beck's last illusion:
-The real Beck had wet, unkempt hair in the scene.
It's crazy.
"I know you think none of us have noticed, Peter, but your new look: I love it"
I love this line because Peter's 'new style' happened a second before that line. So, obviously none of them had noticed, or they would have also noticed that it didn't previously exist.
They had me convinced that Mysterio might actually be a good guy, even though I have read the comics.
Colin The Big Yosh Same here! I was suspicious, then I was like, “oh cool, they’re making him a hero in the movies!” Then, BAM! Evil.
Same man

That's some great storytelling then!
Remember that Tony line in Homecoming where Peter says "I wanted to be like you" and he says "and I wanted you to be better"
He must've carried that pressure all the way to 2023 up until Happy finally relieved him of his misunderstanding about what Tony meant, to him it must've meant to be better than Iron Man, to be his successor, but for Tony he meant to be his legacy, someone anybody can look up to and rely on, not another Iron Man. Pulling from the Titans tv show as Bruce says to Dick: "Stronger, Faster- not Robin."
Bruh Mcu Spidey is basically Iron Man Jr, everyone forgets about uncle ben
@Oscar Ruex bruh id think you understand it the guy above IS correct.

I wish you winned MJ's little 'wait I was right' moment right after peter tells her he is spiderman. Felt very cute and realistic
MCU version of MJ isn't exactly perfect either, and you've detailed why, you could take MJ out of Far From Home and it wouldn't change anything about the plot itself, she likes Peter and Peter likes her, that's the extent of who she is
at least with Raimi and PS4 MJ, their relationships with their respective Peter Parkers weren't perfect, and had room to grow, the chemistry between them starts to change as the stories progressed
but no, MCU MJ is the best, why? well because their relationship is 'cute'... that's literally it. piss poor reason
@@ImThe5thKing mysterio has never really used magic he's always used illusion and tech, like in this movie
@@steadyalbatross I guess it was more so the use of actual sfx to... make the sfx?
@Robbie Drake TBH that's not a great motive.
8:55 I'm happy that someone else also noticed the illusory rock impact cracks looking suspiciously like bullet shots.
Im sad you didnt go into Tom’s acting when Happy comes to the rescue. His acting in that scene took the movie from good to amazing

I love how Ned is darting his eyes back and forth when Betty is talking about Peter's new look. Exactly like the audience would be
I'm so glad with how they did Mysterio.
This Mysterio is the embodiment of the illusion 100 meme.
they made it a believable character for a 2019 live action movie. We have enough superpowered villains. Having a regular guy with lots of experience in tech and holograms, they did so well.

The most relatable thing was the kids in the school show griping about how they need to retake mid-terms, and one missed win, there are pictures of military service medals on the walls of the bar to subconciously show Peter that Beck is better than him.
16:31 that moment will never not give me chills. His eyes are glassy, borderlined unfocused, and his face and suit are cut up and bloody. That moment he stopped the bullet was the moment he stepped out of Tony’s shadow and the “I need a mentor” mentality.
The “hunting hydra” documentary MUST be about some of the adventures in Agents of Shield. I refuse to believe otherwise
It's also interesting to see how Hydra as we know lost power. Now, everyone knows its existence, there is even documentaries about it.

It's possible, although Agents of Shield has diverged from continuity with the MCU in the last year or so.
@@JakkFrost1 Even the end of season 5 where the Earth almost gets destroyed and General Talbot goes around the Earth making giant pillars so he can get gravitonium is something I think the Avengers or Fury would notice.
