- i legit like hearing kansai dialect so much. I don't know if it's only in anime or i like the sound in general. I tried to find some videos of people speaking it in real life too but no luck.
The fact that Kengo Kawanishi (Hashida's VA) is now voicing several characters with Kansai-ben (like hoshina kaiju no 8, n akito kirishima oblivion battery) proves how professional he is at this job! Love that
OMG I've been coming back to this because I was obsessed with hoshina...I realized it was similar but Google said they were different!😭

The voice actor also voices a kansai-ben character named Rosho Tsutsujimori from Hypmic. His team partner, Sasara, has thick kansai-ben too. I recommend to check them out

His voice actor ( Kengo Kawanishi ) really almost same with Ichimaru Gin voice actor Koji Yusa. And both from Kansai too

Same for me, I never thought of different areas of Japanese people having different accents and dialects
you can hear the prolonged vowels and the way he stretches the ending of sentences. And certain words are entirely different from usual standard tokyo dialect. It really is quite interesting

I was really attracted to the accent so i searched up irl vids of people speaking kansai-ben but couldn't find any satisfactory vids that's how i thought of making this lmao
You could check out manzai comedy (Takeshi Kitano), since it originated in Osaka. But it’s probably not going to sound quite as melodic as anime.

People irl don't talk like voice actors in anime
Some of it may be true like I've watched videos on spoken Japanese eg: instead of sumimasen like in anime people normally use suimasen but same can't be said for a dialect ! if it wasn't used irl , they wouldn't go thru the trouble of learning it in order to portray the character
@@turntcatgirl6234 I would say he is more Kyoto than regular Kansai. Kyoto is a bit more softer elegant than Osaka

how do you recognize the different dialects?
There's a lot to recognize butfor Kansai if you hear ya, yanen or Yaron etc. It's a good chance it's kaisen but other than that word choice and pitch accent are other ways to recognize dialects in Japan
