I think my favourite part is the unintelligible vocals. Despite being unintelligible, they’re so raw and passionate! The composer really poured their heart out making this one!
Team Star is up there with Team Skull as one of my favorite "evil" teams in all the mainline Pokemon games by far. Their stories just feel so much more realistic to me than most of the other evil team stories. Not that the other ones are bad - these two teams just hit home for me. And both Team Skull/Team Star's boss themes are amazing!
What's interesting is you don't see Team Star doing anything bad while Team Skull are acctually trying to cause trouble. Team Star aren't really trouble makers, it's the rumors of the bullies and the player's expectations that make this team look bad but in reality they don't do anything. Clavell only wants to make the team disband cause the bosses and other members of it are not attending the academy (alongside few other broken school rules). Cassiopeia wanted to disband it cause it's gone too far. The bosses are at the risk of being expelled and ppl believe TS is bad.
I'm in the minority of actually enjoying teams that have more to them rather than "we want to rule the world because our boss said so!". Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed ones like Plasma and Rocket, but I really like this take, too.
Why team star is the the best in 10 reasons: 1. no restricted clothing for the bosses 2. standing up against bullying 3. they actually support each other 4. 'ok' grunt outfits 5. Kick ass themes 6. giacomo 7. giacomo 8. giacomo 9. giacomo 10. giacomo (edit: is it just me or do i see resemblence of giacomo to guzma, maybe distant cousins lol)
He sorta reminds me of Grimsley with his hair and Piers for his music talent. He’s like a mix of them. I love Dark Type enthusiasts a lot; Piers, Grimsley and Giacomo my beloveds ❤❤
As a "weird kid" who has kind of been an outcast compared to my peers, I really clicked with all of the Team Star leaders. I really love how they're just these alternative kids who just wanted to be themselves but couldn't unless they pushed back against their bullies. I find their storyline as a group to be sad yet realistic. I love these goobers.
@@j.c._gaming4671 Yeah, Eri's car was probably the most annoying to fight. Even though my team was in the low 60s, I had to spam Fly with my Salamence to wreck that car.
Oh my god i nearly threw my Switch out the window on one of the Nemona fights in *my* blind violet nuzlocke. Either her Skeledirge has Infiltrator, or Torch Song ignores substitutes. I lost a perfectly good spore/sub/leech seed/[fill in attack move here] breloom to that fucker
This theme hits harder than Revavroom using its Torque move to one shot all of my team Also, at 0:55, does anyone hear lyrics here? I’m hearing “Team Star keeps breaking it down”
As someone who loves punk or rock like battle themes, this is at the top with Marnie's theme and Lorekeeper Zinnia. They all just sound so chaotic yet clean at the same time and I freaking love it!
She's actually the only one capable of taking down almost everyone in my team then after that I just got too serious afterwards and thrashed everyone, my ego is high when it comes to winning xD
I had the most difficulty with Mela as I took her before the 3rd gym and 2nd Titan my levels were in 20s, I did fine up until the boss fight, she wiped my entire team with Torchque Eri was difficult but my team was in 50s so I did fine
I haven't fought all of Team Star yet, but it's gonna be hard to top Mela as my favourite admin. Not just cause "ohmygosh, goth gf" but I just freaking love how she walks. Her knees can't bend so she just kinda just marches toward you. It's so goofy I love it.
Giacomo's amazing isn't he? Aside from being the previous Student Council President, and making almost every rule at the school, he's an AMAZING DJ, great guy, good leader, and honestly just a vibe
That guitar solo at 2:15 is absolute ear candy. One time I was humming the theme not remembering where I got it from. After a while I finally realized it was this banger
@@pilot_aki nvm here it is. Its in the first paragraph third phrase Giacomo (Japanese: ピーニャ Piña) is the boss of Team Star's Dark crew, the Segin Squad. He specializes in Dark-type Pokémon. Giacomo is a wannabe DJ and the creator of Team Star's theme songs, also going by the name "DJ Vice" when on stage.
Okay, if Giacomo made this song, I'm guessing he also made the grunts' theme. My personal headcanon has been that this song is blasting from the Starmobile speakers, and the grunt theme is played on their phones. I love diegetic music.
Giacomo is the cool de facto leader, mela is cool but goofy when she walks, Atticus is old timey but has a fashion sense, Ortega looks like a rich kid but I haven’t gotten to him so I hope that’s not all of his character, and eri seems like a real one
I feel like Scarlet and Violet is like the Skyrim of the Pokemon series. It has bugs and performance issues left and right, but when it comes down to the core of it all; the story, the exploration, and the battles, it still manages to shine. With that being said, I have a feeling that people are gonna mod the HELL out of this game in an attempt to perfect it, and I'm looking forward to that.
Story is ass honestly. Everything was in the end & nothing much but Team star and school Arc, why the hell would I enjoy attending a school in Pokémon m? and Gen 8 felt longer which is quite crazy. Overall gameplay is fun and enjoyable. I don’t necessarily care for story since pokemons stories are ass & kiddy.
@@a.x.x8184 Have Have you ever played any of the games with the more serious stories or Because some ARE kiddy don’t get me wrong but some stories aren’t like pokemon black and white, scarlet and violet (specifically the way home), sun and moon Also pokemon is a game directed towards kids, what did you expect? (Pokemon black and white with the Pokémon slavery, The way home having the professor being dead the entire game, sun and moon with Lusamine)
@@a.x.x8184 did you forget you played as a goddamn kid ? The fact that this is the first pokemon game where you go to an actual school is honestly shocking. Also, what, you wanted another pokemon game where you leave your home and meet another generic evil group of bad guys who wanna end the world with legendaries ? And, you cannot complain about pokemons being rather "family friendly" since it's mostly targeted to a young audience, and despite that, it's still has really dark themes, such as the professor literally being dead and replaced by an AI, his son only having a sick dog as a companion, etc
Fighting is also an oddball for an evil team as it's almost exclusively a heroic type in concept AND practice. Love that the two oddball types are also the two highest level Star Bosses
Probably my favorite song in the game. Best part starts at 0:00 and ends at 5:00. Honestly though, Team Star killed it overall. They don’t have a super deep villain motivation, but they’ve got an understandable one that’s relatable for a lot of people. Also, they are absolutely ROCKING it in the wardrobe department.
Team Star has become a new favorite team of mine. They actually have depth and aren't just "I'm evil just because lol". Heck, they're not actually evil and are just a bunch of guys who got bullied and decided to stand up for themselves. Unfortunately, they are seen as the "bad guys" because of that, which is honestly more realistic than I thought a Pokemon game would get. Heck, the whole bullying problem felt very "real-world issue" for me, which is probably a reason why I like the story so much. That, and how your mindset goes from "Time to beat up the bad guys!" to "Am I the bad guy?" as you continue the story. At least that's what happened to me anyway.
Yeah, this is the first time fighting an evil team left a bad taste in my mouth. Team Skull had a rough go at it, but they were still bastards. Team Yell were a bunch of idiots trying to help someone who didn't want, or frankly need, their help. Team Star meanwhile are genuine victims of circumstance. What other evil team would have non-grunt trainers fight for them because one of the leaders is a friend of theirs? I was genuinely relieved when it turned out they could stay together and didn't have to disband.
They have absolutely killed it these past generations with Dark type specialists. They're finally not JUST in the Elite Four now, and Nanu from Alola, Piers from Galar, and Giacomo have all been great imo.
Odd but cool fun fact for the bosses their personalities are kinda reflected in their pokeball choices... Mela is quick tenpered and uses quick balls to hold her team, Giacomo is a dj and uses time to nake a beat and keeps his team in timer balls, Atticus is old fashioned and repeats old traditions and keeps his team in repeat balls, Ortega is a rick boy and can live in the lap of luxury and keeps his team in luxury balls, and Eri is the most kind hearted and wants people she cares about to be healthy so she uses heal balls
The guitar solo that starts around 4:40 is completely different from the one at 1:50, and it sadly gets cut off before it finishes. I know you like to keep your uploads 5 minutes long for some reason, but this track gets cut off before it even loops once lol
Yeah, turns out reading the description of each point of interest helps in figuring out where you're current power level is best spent. Made sure to do that once I figured that out...
For me that happened bc not only was she the one GF advertised when they showed off Star Bases, but also bc she was the closest to me also accidentally going to the grass gym first
As someone that was bullied a lot in school I relate heavily with these guys and I didn’t really want to take them down but knew no good would come with them staying unfortunately. Hell a decent part of me wanted to join even And 2:07
Will never forget fighting Giacomo for the first time and seeing "sent out revavroom" and waiting for a pokemon to show up, only to realize I'm fighting the car hes standing on. That's seared in my memory as a S Tier Pokemon Moment
Team Star is the logical extreme of what happens when schools punish bully victims for standing up for themselves. Pokemon really said zero-tolerance is bullshit
Team Star really is one of the most well written teams in the franchise like everyone feels so relatable in their own way and they’re not a standard “evil team” they’re just kids who need help but got in over their head (tbh if I were an actual person in the game I’d probably end up in team star)
All of the team star boss battles are so crazy intense and I love it. The bosses are towering over you with a whole squad of goons cheering them on, the engines are revving, and you're in their turf. The first time I fought Giacomo and saw his GIANT CAR was his ace Pokemon, I realized Team Star was actually cool. Eri is probably my favorite since she kicked me in the shins and is easily the coolest looking one, probably even the coolest fighting type trainer.
Giacomo has banger music composition skills, Mela is cute asf & is a fiery tomboy, Atticus is a fashion designer with hella good taste in fashion sense overall, Ortega is smart asf & an incredible mechanic, Eri is a total badass fighter who is beautiful but imposing HOW TF WERE ANY OF THESE PEOPLE BULLIED AT SCHOOL?! THEYRE ALL COOL ASF!
Tbf.... IIRC most of them didn't have their glow-up until AFTER team star was formed. Tho eri was bullied BECAUSE she was so amazing but ultimately alot nicer than most people with those stats. Because I'd fuck ish up on principle if someone messed with me if I was her
Alot are your typical bullying case Mela : tomboy and good looking. She is obviously stuborn and defiant as well which makes things worse Giaco : music nerd Atticus : boy who likes fancy and lacy clothings Ortega : obvious weeb with the whole ninja chuunibyou Eri : nice girl but giant size. Even as a team star leader and the whole wrestler dress code, its all an act she doesn't want to hurt anyone
Although Team Star aren't evil, it's nice to see them redeem themselves. It'll be nice to see Team Star bosses play major roles in pokespe. In Platinum chapter, none of the Sinnoh Elite Four minus Flint plays any major role, just cameos. It'll be cool to see the Team Star bosses showcase more in pokespe.
Bro every single generations music keeps getting better and better I’m loving it Edit: idk why I have to say this but this is my personal opinion and I don’t really care if you disagree I personally think it’s good can y’all stop spamming me with “cap” comments you sound like npcs
The verse that plays at minute 1:45 is my favorite of the entire song. Why? Because this is where the real Team Star is heard. Their past and the pain that brought them to what they are today.
Team star’s story wasn’t amazing, especially because the twist at the end was kinda obvious, but I still liked it a lot. It’s nice that they have an evil team that’s as you go on, you realize was never evil in the first place and are just kids trying to fight against bullying. It’s really wholesome and was definitely something that hit close to home for me. Again, it’s not a great story, but I love that this is probably the “”evil”” team with the most depth out of them all
Ngl, the last 3 "Evil teams" have been kinda boof. Team Flare's goal was to reset the world and eliminate whomever they deemeed unworthy, now that's pretty hardcore and most definitely evil. Then you have a group of wannabe gangsters, a fan club and now a group of delinquent students...
I still think Team Plasma was deeper, purely because the Liberation of Pokemon was, in my eyes, a much more sensitive topic, combined with the fact that Ghetsis fabricated that ideal just to get people to join. Plasma feels more mature, but credit to team star for being up there with their depth.
Tbh I think it was a great story, although the twist was obvious from the very start. The characters were pretty damn good, their backstories and motives were also very realistic and well-written, and the ending although again it *was* predictable, was still very good and positive, giving what they deserved from the very start. now, yeah, it aint innovative or anything like that, but i still really enjoyed everything in this story as it really reminded me of when i was in middle school and was bullied, always dreaming to have a friend group to fend off my bullies. so yeah, honestly i really liked this story and i think it was great!
I can't believe that Revavroom is such a based Pokemon that Giacomo composed a whole boss theme for them. Actually I can because Giacomo has VERY good tastes.
*Team Star Mela's Revavroom* - Yes, Mela's the trainer - Yes, the car has a name - Yes, the car is the pokemon *- OH MY GOD, **_THE CAR IS THE POKEMON-_*
It's interesting how most of the People consider them as Criminals when they are more like victims of Bullyng here Honestly, one of the best Pokemon Teams
tragic backstory aside they were quickly building up city sized encampments, blocking roads for their huge cars, and trying to get strong trainers to join them. like theres a difference between protesting bullying and going around like an invading army.
@@周生生-f1f It's mostly more complicated than that. The admins say it themselves: There are many of them in Team Star and they were on the verge of disbanding before we arrived. We can even see a group of Stars a little apart from the others towards the POISON camp showing a diversity inside the group. It is not impossible (see probable) that some actions were done without their order.
I dunno how to describe it but this song absolutely gives off "bullied group of kids form a gang and one of them happens to be cracked at composing in FL Studio so they make an unnecessarily hard theme"
This theme ROCKS!!! Also i really like Team Star bosses, they're amazing and unlike other evil teams like team skull and team yell all of them have a deep background
The insane adrenaline this song gives off as well as the fact the instrumentals slightly change when the song loops gives me Xenoblade Chronicles vibes.
This is my favorite theme this gen! I was a bit underwhelmed by the gen 9 Gym Leader battle theme which I probably set up myself since I expected another club banger like in Gen 8 and I thought we'd never have that this gen but imagine my absolute glee when this and the team star grunt theme came on. Pokemon OST never fails me 😭 Incidentally, Operation Starfall is my favorite storyline from this gen, too. Is the universe trying to tell me something?
These giant revarooms gave me a challenge...I never lost in a Pokémon battle in the last 10 years but I was so close there with Cynthia at bdsp. Especially against Eri. Not only her strong ass revaroom but also her Annihilape.
This game is so much mature compared to the others game, like, it really talk about kids who go traumatised so bad from school they prefered to be delinquents and be hated on purpose. They're lost and you, a new kid at school, is the first helping hand they see in a year and half
When the fucking car turned out to be the last member of their team, I was like "Oh shit? They're trying to commit vehicular assault? That's kick fucking ASS! This boss fight is AWESOME."
One thing I've noticed about Alola, Galar, and Paldea's Evil Teams are only a group of troublemakers. While the true villain of these regions was either a President or an evil Robot scientists.
For real me too. It almost makes me cry too every time I get to this part because it is so beautiful, yet so epic, more if you are terrastalized. It makes me sad that so many people hate on this game, but at the same I'm glad many others keep playing and love this game.
Team Star was better than I expected it'd be by a long shot. Actually tell a genuinely interesting yet real story (but Pokemon) about how sometimes when kids are bullied, schools turn a blind eye, but when they stand up for themselves, are treated as the villain. In this case, they had reason to fight back, although maybe didn't do it the best way. Yet if the school stepped in, maybe they wouldn't have? Interesting story and while Penny being the Big Boss was expected as a twist by boss two, I loved it. HASTA LA VISTAR!
Did you notice how each part of this theme contains a completely different style from the other? It's as if each part of the song represents the personality of each of the bosses
As I've completed Starfall Street recently, I must say that it's adorable from Clavell to help them change to helpful training teams that help students with their Pokemon. It's amazing that they returned and still run their bases, since I thought they will be gone forever after the story. What's best, that each time you return, bosses themselves greet you and even frickin Clive returns as your team's healer!!! I absolutely adore this team, Giacomo and Eri are my favorite members.
At first I thought Minako Adachi composed this theme, as she had previously done the battle themes for Teams Skull and Yell. Finding out that someone who hadn't composed any music for previous Pokémon games actually did it was a bit shocking, but it actually made a lot of sense. What a great battle theme this is!
You may have included the second half, but you cut it off by 48 seconds. Please include the rest, the length of this soundtrack is easy to miss, it's actually 5:48 long before it loops.
team star is the most grounded antagonist group in the pokemon franchise to date their not looking to change the world or some legendary pokemon with unlimited power their just a bunch of school kids who got sick of how they were being treated in school and decided to band together for a better life I like that about them
Imagine being a grunt in Team Star, this absolute unknown trainer starts declaring war on you then they show up. Effortlessly brush past the grunt at the gates, no big deal you think, they’re only bringing 3 Pokémon in we’ll swarm them 10-1, it doesn’t matter how strong they are. Only it does. You see them strolling through your base, 4 or 5 of your teams Pokemon descend on them at once and a single member of the interloper’s team defends them and handily defeats your teams pokemon. Before you know it they’re staring down at your boss, possibly the strongest person you know, and it doesn’t matter, this unknown trainer is so strong they single handedly break your entire team. No wonder they disband
Classic Giacomo banger. Let's be honest we all love him especially since it's canon that he produced the songs

And both aren't really "evil" at all.
yeah no, they come nowhere close but they do be having a banger
They're just a bunch of hooligans
THERE'S NO REASON THIS SHOULD GO HARD.
Thank you Giacomo.

At least that's what happened to me anyway.

team star is the most grounded antagonist group in the pokemon franchise to date their not looking to change the world or some legendary pokemon with unlimited power their just a bunch of school kids who got sick of how they were being treated in school and decided to band together for a better life I like that about them
Imagine being a grunt in Team Star, this absolute unknown trainer starts declaring war on you then they show up.
Listening to the song in headphones was the best. I regret not playing pokemon games in headphones because most of them songs are banger
