IKR. I mean toads, get help from the Mario bros, Yoshi, Daisy, todette... or anyone that's an ally of Princess Peach. Do something besides expecting the best from your fearless leader.
I honestly really like this game. I like the creative transformations like the Dashing Thief, Cowgirl, and Ninja are amongst my favorites in the game. Maybe it could be because this game came out on the day of my birthday. In fact I bought it on day one as a birthday present. And yes, my 23rd birthday was a great one!
Princess Peach: Showtime! is quite an intriguing game. When I saw a tease of it during the June Nintendo Direct, I was going to check it out. It was a highlight alongside Wonder and Mario RPG and reinforced the notion that Mario was getting back into a very creative era. There is a lot to enjoy about this game, and while I do have issues, namely with the simple nature of the game, the weak presentation and questionable performance issues. I do like the game. It feels very Kirby inspired, with the transformations resembling Copy Abilities and with a greater focus on story and character. I do love how it expands on Peach's character, and gives her a villain of her own. Madame Grape and the Sour Bunch are quite a fun cast of villains, and I enjoyed the interactions between Grape and Peach, which reminded me of Luigi and King Boo's. I hope Grape shows up in future Mario games. She feels right out of Kirby, especially in the final phase of the fight. In some aspects, this game feels more creative than Super Mario Bros. Wonder. This is one of the most creative Mario games on Switch, and kills the idea of supposed "mandates" even more. It just oozes creativity. One thing I'm happy about is how much better the music is compared to Crafted World. I don't know what went wrong when creating a soundtrack for Crafted World when Woolly World had such an amazing soundtrack. Music can come a long way and add to the enjoyment, or diminish it. Paper Mario: The Origami King, regardless of how you feel about the game, it's pretty much all agreed upon that it has an incredible soundtrack. I love the Origami King, despite vastly preferring the first two games, and part of that has to do with the game's wonderful music. I adore the music in the game. And Showtime! while not on the Origami King's level, it has a pretty enjoyable soundtrack. I love the music that plays when Peach dons the Kung-Fu ensemble. I do think this game lays the foundation for a solid series. Remember Luigi's Mansion? While that game is more fun than Showtime!, it's definitely aged, especially when it comes to nabbing all 50 Boos. That is one aspect of the original game I like less and less each time I replay the game. I'll see how Dark Moon stacks up in June, but it and 3 handle the Boo hunting far better than the original, though I hope they fix the ice monster boss fight in the remaster.
Excellent response! I feel if they were to make Showtime into a series, they need to make the sequel less basic and provide for a more fast paced experience. Similar to Super Princess Peach in terms of the game actually having a lot of depth and mechanics. Showtime is enjoyable, but definitely feels a bit basic.
Agreed. I loved the creativity, but I wish there was more meat on the bones. It felt basic. A game being simple is not inherently bad; Celeste is simple but definitely a challenge. A game being both simple and easy is where I draw the line. Kirby isn’t quite simple, but it is easy. Princess Peach Showtime just feels like video game junk food.
Princess Peach Showtime, for me specifically is like the Peach Game I've wanted, because as much as I enjoyed Super Princess Peach, it still felt like a Mario game, just the roles were reversed. Plus it was in that weird middle area between the early 2D Mario games, and the New Super Mario Bros Games.
You mention captain syrup as the most recent female villain, but forget Golden Diva, Terrormisu, Princess Shroob, Shadow Queen, And the most recent Hellen Gravely.
I personally think this is a solid game. I really liked most of the transformations available for Peach and I had some fun with them. However, 100%ing the game is a big chore to do.
Hopefully, with the launch of the Next Nintendo console. They'll be able to fix performance issues for past switch titles if they're compatible. This game suffers from that, and the loading is pretty ridiculous.
I feel like the transformations, although cool, take the focus away from the princess. I would like a game where Princess Peach was just.... Princess Peach, and not a ninja, cowboy, detective, etc. The game is fun as a spin off, but doesn't do justice to Peach's fans, I personally had more fun playing Mario Wonder with her than this game.
Totally relate to you about games being expensive. I probably still wouldn’t have picked anything up this year (not really interested in anything that came out), but if most of these games were a tad bit less expensive (especially Mario vs. DK), I might look into them more.
I hated how A is Jump you can switch it to B but A would be attack i could remap the controller but not the peach controller i use haha i thought about useing GC seem like it fit well with the big A to jump B for action regardless having fun chill time with it
All boss was all about Elegant Kamehameha. Final boss was Gatling Kamehameha. Was only fun the time it last. At least the kids has lot of type of gameplay & controls to train with. A good first timer gamer.
Honestly its about time peach got her own series plus the game is really good so maybe on the next console this game gets a sequel and make this idea flourish, I also like how this game shows how skillful peach is as she is very athletic and knows how to fight hand to hand and with weapons. Also when it came to her voice I think they were trying a more realistic voice for peach rather than her usual high pitched voice but I could be wrong about this, either way it's fine with me
oh, okay, I was watching your spongebob 100 episodes DVD video & wondered if you still make videos 11 years later, I expected an older voice & better overall quality but I was still shocked
If one of the main issues is performance in things outside of the main gameplay, I'd have to say that it barely counts as an issue to me. Yeah, the cutscenes may look off-putting, but at least for me that's relatively minor. The loading screens look pretty goofy though, but then again it's not a gameplay issue. Now the backtracking can be a major thing, but if the levels are overall enjoyable then it should be fine. I already wanted to try this game, but now I'm pretty convinced. Performance aside, the artstyle and graphics look perfect to me, as they remind me of Mario Party 9 or Super Mario 3D World but even better, and I love those games' artstyles.
If Metroid Prime 4 gets shown in the upcoming June Nintendo Direct and releases this Holiday Season, will you do a retrospective on Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption as anticipation towards Metroid Prime 4’s release, please? I find the Metroid franchise underrated and I bet the retrospective videos will get people’s attention to give the Metroid franchise a chance.
Such a good game. I haven't completely 100% yet since I was also trying to get all the achievements for Hogwarts Legacy on my Xbox. If I have the time despite having a pup. I'm planning on doing both Super Princess Peach and Princess Peach Showtime next month as The Month of Princess Peach.

Do I gonna get princess peach's showtime? Yes but if I beong honest I do plan to get it somewhat later due to want to get few games before it those being the spyro reignited trilogy, final fantasy 10 and metroid dread but that mostly for long they had been on my list. I do see PPS as a great game that does offer a kirby like veraity and does remind me a lot of some of the chapters in live a live on the sheer veraity but if there one thing I am quite hasitant is the 100% since is a major factor for me to enjoy a game but I am the same guy who 100% super mario 3D world so I am sure it won't be too much of a pain. Yes I am not glad with the cutscenes and I would say they bad as sonic force's cutscenes but isn't my biggest factor. Overall I will give princess peach's showtime the rank of an aligator's glove with the thumb nail popping up or a high B tier for now
The final boss theme should have been Latin choir music like Elden Ring. I played the game with 5 hours of playtime for 100%. It was a great game that I needed after playing painfully mediocre or just horrible games like Starfield, Redfall, Rise of Kong, and Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.
How in the heck can you hate Princess Peach Showtime?’ It is a unique and a very fun game! The transformations and the stories in the plays are incredibly fun!
Me, I do NOT plan on getting this game, because it's far too simple. Now, that doesn't mean I think it's pure trash or anything, but I am a _very_ skilled gamer for better and for worse. Some games have enough going on that, even if "just" 100%ing them is simplistic, it remains engaging to do so. What I've seen from playthroughs and my experience with the demo is that this is NOT one of those games. It really is a shame, I had been cautiously optimistic about it leading up to launch.
The poor performance is perhaps the main reason why people prefer to emulate the game, over using real hardware with its low quality visuals and choppy framerate. With that said, I hope NIntendo doesn't see this comment.

i love super peach because she has her time to save mario and luigi to kick bowser in the butt, i wish that super peach was revamped or remade in the switch.
This game is not a mistake. Still appreciate that there's finally an attempt of a new Peach game, but the results are pretty abysmal to be perfectly honest. One of the worst and most boring video games I've ever played. Children deserve better games than this piece of garbage. It's so bad imo that it makes a game like Sonic 06 look actually fun to play.
I think it’s hilarious how the toads that went to the theater with peach got thrown out and we’re apparently just waiting outside the entire game
