I 100% the game and "charming" is the best word for it. Nothing was INCREDIBLE, but all of it was good. It's likely going to be one of those games I show to my casual gamer friends with "Hey, give this a try."
I think it's quite fun. The transformations and all the different roles she plays. It makes me eant Prach to have her own partner series (a la Yoshi, DK, Wario, and Luigi) in the Mario franchise. And the inconsistent voice for Peach is actually brilliant. She's an actor/performer in the context of the adventure. Performers have range and adjust that range in accordance to the role they play. That's ehy she has a deeper tone for the more action-y roles and something closer to her typical voice for the Patissiere and other 'gentle' roles.
The gameplay of this one, to me, is *fine.* But I LOVE the aesthetics, the energy, the playful sense of imagination, the snappy action, the variety of gameplay ideas, and THE COSTUMES. The gameplay is simple, but that's okay because it has charm coming out of every polygon. It's been a long time that a game made me feel like a giddy kid the way this one did. More please 🍑
Grape does vaguely look like a Balan character, and Peach gets her powers from costumes. That's about all the similarities I can really see between the two.
The voice acting by Samantha Kelly is really good. To me though, it is a bit jarring to hear Peach speak multiple full sentences and for her voice to go so deep. Still great though!
I think a lot of the Balan comparisons aren't so much about what they have in common, but rather that this is accomplishing what Balan *wanted* to do with its game but failed to. At least from the comparisons I've seen between the two. I mean then again, I'm one of those people who are stupid enough to not absolutely despise Balan, so feel free to disregard what I just said. (Also Sony, please re-release Puppeteer please?)
16:26 this was literally me lmao I finished P3 Reload and was like “ok now for something more relaxing” And I really enjoyed my time with the game, very fun and cute, hope Goodfeel makes another one
Why does everyone forget Endless Ocean Luminous exists when discussing how there are no "new" first-party Switch exclusives on the horizon after Showtime?
You see, a lot of Nintendo fans only care about the big stuff while simultaneously being angry thinking Nintendo never brings back old franchises. Famicom Detective Club, Advance Wars, even Trace memory earlier this year, all ignored by the very people who thinks Nintendo abandons too many of their franchises. Old Antdude sadly fits this description if you watched his 2023 in review video.
Princess Peach Showtime sold very well so I think there will be a sequel. And in the end credits Madame Grape's mask could be seen. So I think she will be the main villain in the next game, maybe she will indeed be Peach's arch enemy, just like King Boo and Luigi. Anyway, the future of Princess Peach is going to be amazing.
@@earthboundman5769 I don't think Nintendo will do anything completely different with the gameplay. But there are a lot of thing that can do with this. Maybe instead of a theater, princess peach goes to a movie studio. I think they just stretch the surface with this idea
Honestly, I enjoyed my time with Princess Peach Showtime: I'm not going to say it's the most memorable game I've played on the switch (because Fire Emblem 3 Houses exists), but they're still fun to be had here.
My SIL had only ever played Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley due to my brother playing alongside her. He got her this game for her birthday and she absolutely loves it. I think these kind of games are made for people like her, a low-difficulty, high-production-value experience for people with low videogame literacy to dip their toes into games.
I feel a bit bad that the marketing for this was basically drenched in pink, and the game itself looks a lot more grounded and not very „princess“ like. That’s cool. I wish the marketing department would have put a spotlight on those other elements, so that it wouldn’t have looked to classic pink princess girl‘ish, tbh
I wonder if Nintendo listened to antdude about thinking Princess Peach Showtime is the last original game on the Nintendo Switch well now we got more coming on the way.
I had a very enjoyable time playing this game, and it was weird, because it was hard to tell why I was enjoying it as much as I did. I think just the presentation (the character interactions and theming) sold me
I actually played Puppeteer, still have my copy, regard it as one of the best platformers I ever played, and you have no idea how much it made my day that you know it too and gave it a shout out ^^
This game was charming as all hell and I absolutely appreciated that, but being honest I don't see myself ever playing it again. Having to start the entire stage over again if I missed a gem and not being able to skip cutscenes (with the sole exception being the transformation sequences) or dialogue were infuriating. The game took me around a dozen hours to complete but it definitely felt a lot longer. I won't say Showtime is a bad game by any stretch, but I kind of hold a similar opinion of it as I do for Kirby's Epic Yarn, the only other GoodFeel game I've ever played. A casual playthrough of it is kind of boring while a completionist playthrough is rather frustrating, but the charm alone was enough to make me say I don't regret giving it a shot.
I have the game and finished it in less than a week rather than a few hours, though, with that being said, I loved it. The game play was really fun and I loved the challenges, most of the Sparkle Gems were kind of hard to get, though.
I played the game and it really is truly the Peach game of all time. It’s cute, it’s charming, it’s a nice casual game. But it’s not super deep and even going in not expecting the deepest game, I was hoping for a little more. But still, I enjoyed it.
it really feels like Grape should have a title on her name, like Countess Grape, or Grand Diva Grape also... considering this game isn't truly voiced, why not let Peach talk? why Nintendo fears letting their protagonists talk, they aren't Custom Characters meant to be the Player themselves
@@ShweetsStuff ok Madame Grape, that's better well yeah, but that's what i mean, Peach has spoken in Dialogue before, so her not talking in dialogue is silly here
Hopefully Daisy, Rosalina or Pauline will be playable characters. The dresses I thought was a dud. They could have made them different colors. Like a Daisy color dress, or Rosalina or even Pauline. Maybe her NES classic dress, or the power up dresses from Mario Bros/Wonder, or the costume from Odyssey.
I loved this game, I don't even have any problem with its difficulty. My only problem was its length. It felt like a waste of designed gameplay to just have 3 plays per mechanic, they had everything to give us more content and that's my only issue...
I’m very glad I only played 32 bucks for this because anything more would feel like a rip off, it’s not a bad game by all means, it has its charm but it’s rather painfully basic
Bro, love your content! I'm playing through persona 3 reload as well would love to hear anything you wanna say about that for the record, I'm 80 hours into my play through lol
Seems like it’s a good “blockbuster rented” game. For those of us who grew up doing that. Good for a weekend but not really good enough for a complete commitment to buying it.
Most of the bosses in this game weren't all that interesting to me, the second one seemed like the best. Final one reminded me of kirby 64's one a bit. Also, hope I'm not the only one who found the ice skating stages weirdly difficult
I agree with you. One really bad take I've heard is that there isn't variety among the different costumes/stages. Disagree. And to be honest I don't play Lies of Bloodbourne Pinocchio...I don't even play Halo...but I'm not sure it's even fair to say it's unbelievably easy (how is that possible if the bosses are all awesome and you 'need' to replay each stage as you correctly say?). I'm going back through now to complete and it is annoying with how you have to totally restart stages. I wouldn't care if the loading times weren't pretty long, and they are. It's "cute" and playable and all, but from the demo I just wasn't too impressed...if this is what other games by Good Feel are like I don't think I'd like them much...I don't a game to be Dark Souls or a hard Metroidvania, but it just didn't do it for me...which is sad as it has potential, add a double jump and I'd automatically like it a lot more...a good game for kids and casual gamers but that's it.
I emulated Peach Showtime and Bakeru the Tanuki back to back because i did not want to pay 60 for Showtime and im glad i didnt. Good Feel made both games and i would have much rather paid 60 for Bakeru if they actually localized it for the west because that game deserves to sell more than Showtime. Its way more fun to play and is constantly surprising you just like Goemon 64 since its a spiritual successor. Both games may not be super challenging but if youre gonna play one of the two games, Bakeru is just more engaging because of the setting, visuals, music, characters, etc. It also has a fan translation so i recommend that.
