What I like about the Mike ability is the fact that Kirby's not trying to attack with it. He's just so tone deaf that when he tries to sing he does massive damage. LOL
Regarding the Copy ability from *Kirby Super Star:* It was also useful in the *Milky Way Wishes* portion of that game, as your own copy ability is nerfed in that game, requiring you unlock them in order to use them. The copy allowed you to use abilities you hadn't unlocked yet.
Even with that I barely used copy. Since you got so many abilities so fast it was more fun just to stick with the ones you have then to use copy and hope you get a good ability.
@@Magic_Ice Unless you play in multiplayer, because the helper version of Copy is a legitimate monster. TAC (the helper) can all but one-shot any enemy he cannot copy and the hand (which has surprising range) is pretty powerful even on bosses. Even more broken, however, is that, when TAC transforms with Copy, he gains full health in that form. Furthermore, if that form is damaged, he can drop it like Kirby can and have whatever health he had before. For all intents and purposes, a good TAC player can be immortal, cleverly switching between powers to protect himself. And, if that wasn't all, TAC is the first character in the series to have the "hide and take no damage" guard ability, meaning he can "block" with the shoulder buttons and be completely immune to damage. If you're playing multiplayer with a friend, you give them this ability, hands-down. It was even upgraded in Superstar Deluxe for the DS, making it pretty potent if you play solely as a helper and not Kirby himself.
There's obvious ways to separate them again, they just probably haven't thought of it yet. One thought I had is to make Burning be the one that gives you more control over your trajectory while you dash and then also adding an ability to charge it up and become a more powerful fireball. Fire could still keep some elements, like the aerial dash, but it would be much weaker. They could do something similar with Freeze and Ice -- Make the dash attack for ice into the spinning ice breath from 64, and then give Freeze some ability to expand its AOE and maybe some gimmick moves where Kirby turns into a snowman or you can create a blizzard above your head. Stuff like that
Glad to see another Poison appreciator! It was actually the copy ability I used on my first True Arena clear in Robobot. I hope it comes back someday sooner than later
Nice to see some Staff appreciation! It's not necessarily my top ability, but I always thought its concept was really cool and the pogo bouncing moves were quite fun, especially when you give it a wind element. Would love to see it again, especially to see how it would work in 3D.

@JeSuisSansy Several of the attacks in the trailer are the same as the Robobot armour. I wouldn't be surprised if the bot armour itself was a Gundam reference.

THERE ARE THREE WAYS TO GET PAINT! You can get it from Marx as well. Also copy can be used in Milky Way Wishes, if you deal the final blow to Heavy Metal Lobster in the same attack that you scan its little paint blob, to take the Paint ability outside of the boss fight.
Specifically, the Marx Soul in Super Star Ultra, where it is an excellent troll on the player. After seeing the new move from Marx and realizing it is a paint blob, you drop your ability use Paint on the boss. It does practically nothing, and now you gave up your ability for no benefit.

Happy 200 episodes! I’m of the personal opinion that Planet Robobot had the strongest selection of new abilities, and I wish we could see them more. Doctor at least got to show up again in Battle Royale and the Clash games, but ESP would have been SICK in Fighters 2, and Poison (along with Missile) is probably the most underrated ability in the franchise imo. Plus the backwards cap is always a plus. 2. Fighter, I get to be Ryu from Streets and use a command input. This is always a reliable ability to thrash anyone around in. 1. Sword. This is like picking Charizard as your favourite Pokemon. "Wow you must really like stale bread too huh?" But I can't help it. It's moveset is so full and fluid. All of it's moves feel like they connect into each other. And who doesn't love a good duel with the coolest knight around.
I’m surprised that you didn’t mention swords upgrades in forgotten land. Sword has always been my favorite copy ability and the upgrades in forgotten land perfect it.
Throw is actually one of my top 3 favorite copy abilities. As well as backdrop. Yes backdrop, not suplex. This shows how little of this series I’ve played
Animal should’ve 100% been in forgotten land instead of drill! Heck the main enemy group is called the BEAST pack! It’s such an extremely massive missed opportunity and I’m so mad….
@@Insdoodoldchannel yeah I was about to say, it would probably be confusing for the average player about what enemy could give them animal, or if all do, then animal would show up way too often.
The thing about Throw is that throwing enemies is stronger than just spitting them out. Throwing enemies acts like you've sucked up 2 or more enemies and you can aim it.
I'm honestly shocked that they didn't bring Animal back for forgotten land. I mean come on, the outfit he puts on literally looks like an Awoofy! It would've been perfect!
Funnily enough, the only kirby games I've played are Adventure, Super Star Ultra, and Planet Robobot, and the ladder two are the only two appearances of Mirror, so I had been under the impression that Mirror was very common in this series. I had honestly forgotten about it completely because it had been so long! Now I want to replay Robobot lol.
What people forget about Copy is it's use in milkyway wishes, where your inhale can't copy powers, instead forcing you to use statues. It's only found in a secret area because the game knows how op it is to bypass the gimmick
I'm so happy Yoyo made it so high up. It's always been my favourite and I always used it in Superstar. Honestly I though I was alone on this because non of my friends ever used it when we played Superstar
We love to see Mirror getting the respect it has always deserved but never received (ignoring the one game only abilities which have gotten even less) Mirror is so fun and useful it was always my go to when it existed in a game
I always felt whip didn't get the love it deserved; felt more like a timing-based ability to me. I love all the angles you can attack from along with the rapid-hitting whip, but it is kinda weak in terms of damage.
the commentary on some of these bits are strikingly similar if not the same to a video @SilveryMP did a while back. you should credit him in a pinned comment or something. :)
3:53 it was also meant for Milky Way wishes. You could get it on its own isolated planet without visiting the others and it allows you to basically have the copy ability before you start getting the permanent ones.
Man, I loved this list, but I would have put fire and sword higher because of the upgrades of Forgotten Land - moving around with dragon fire is sooooo satisfying, I spent most of my game with it. And the final sword upgrade is really OP!
Congrats on 200 episodes, Ant! Just a suggestion, but what if you were to do a Smash Bros copy ability ranking as well? Whatever you do next, best wishes for everything!
Congrats on the 200 eps milestone, Ant and really hope you can keep going! :D Your vids are always a great time hehe ^^ this was a fun ranking list as well lol
Beam is so solid and iconic that I think it's more iconic than sword and also more fun (unless you're fighting Meta Knight, of course. Give the man an honourable duel!)
I had no idea that you could swallow those little balls that those bosses shoot and get the Paint ability. That's a Kirby ability I'd never even seen before. I learned something today.
Copy is also useful for something in Super Star: Copy a Scarfy to get Crash! This is a cool thing unique to Copy that’s not very well known. You can’t inhale a Scarfie so people generally assume you can’t get a copy ability from them.
I love how doctor kirby plays, especially the ways he was redesigned visually for Super Kirby Clash. They make him a little wizard crafting potions, while still performing all the same attacks
I've been maining Yo-Yo since the SNES days and I'm so glad that it got to where it was based on merit alone. Made me all the more eager watching through seeing how increasingly glowing the summaries got.
**Spoiler for AntDude's Ranking** but fun fact! Mirror being towards the top at the list isn't all that surprising when in the first voting phase for Kirby Battle Royale, Mirror won the overall ballot vote and became a new ability in the game! It also received a free 3DS theme because of it (which looks amazing by the way). Totally fair because Mirror is an very unique copy ability - but if we're sharing our own lists... 5) Animal: SO cute and I have so much nostalgia for Squeak Squad that I really wish this one would make a return with a revamped moveset. 4) Yo-yo: Has a lot of unique utility and is flashy as hell. It's one of those abilities I CAN'T pass up on if I see it because it's just so fun to use. 3) Fighter: When I was younger I would just spam the uppercut and dive kick to cheese bosses (and I still do) but in the same vein as Yo-yo it just feels so incredibly satisfying to use. Also being able to do a fireball input for the Force Blast is incredible too. 2) Smash: It feels like cheating but honestly you can't get much better than this, especially when in Amazing Mirror having access to most of the puzzle moves is invaluable. I also have a really close attachment to Smash Bros so this one is very high up for me. 1) Tornado: Ole reliable, this copy ability is so much fun to use no matter what game it's in. Forgotten Land really did it justice as it feels just as powerful as it was in the 2D games.
62: I think Paint is at least notable for being one of the few screennukes where a boss can troll you with it. Marx can grant you Paint but when it's used on him, it does an obscenely miniscule amount of damage. 46: Admittedly Forgotten Lands is my first proper Kirby game, but Drill threw me for such a loop when I first ran into it. Luckily, the stage it's in does a decent job giving you a tutorial for it but still, was very awkward for a moment.
As a younger brother, Copy ranks way higher for me. Because it sucks for Kirby, but the thief side character is super strong, plus as you mentioned having control over your own powers. Copy is the hero of anyone that was often relegated to second player.
The fact that Ant and I have the same favourite ability makes me SO unreasonably happy 😭😭 I've never fully understood why I love mirror as much as I do, but honestly I think you summarized it pretty accurately!! Amazing video all around :D
As a very casual Kirby fan, let's see if I can make my own top 10: 1-UFO (I mean, come on) 2-Hammer 3-Suplex 4-Smash 5-Sword 6-Mirror 7-Fighter 8-Fire 9-CHESTOOOOOOOOOO 10-Yo-yo
I'll always have a lot of affection for Mirror, if only because its special guard/shield move is undefeated. Pleasantly surprised to see it rank so highly.
Fun fact! The grab in Ninja is called an Inzuna drop, and is something of a staple of fighting game Ninjas. Examples can be seen in Samurai Shodown and Marvel vs. Capcom.
Forgot the part of upgraded sleep in Forgotten Land where it also doubles your health bar and gives you a timed speed boost. That puts it up way higher for me
WRONG. There are 3 ways to get paint, Marx Soul gives it to you. And it does a pixel of his health in damage without any secondary effect like how it has against chameleo arm and heavy lobster. Also, there's something I've always thought about copy that makes it not pointless that nobody else ever realizes or points out: the enemy you copy with it doesn't die. Meaning, you can copy them, make a helper, and then copy them again, giving you two abilities from one enemy.
Mirror is by far my favourite ability in the entire Kirby Franchise. Mirror is also recorded as being THE most popular Copy Ability in the franchise thanks to the 3DS backdrop being the result of a survey ranking the Copy Abilities.
When I was very young Sword and Wing were my favorite ones and I loved them so much You can't imagine my shock and joy when I played Triple Deluxe and found out Beetle was like a combination of the 2, still remains my favorite to this day
Honestly I prefer freeze and burning over fire and ice Soley because of the costume. Like I wish they’d switch the costumes of the 2 that’d make them feel more original
Kirby's magic ability is incredibly underrated in Squeak Squad. Say what you want about That DS title, but that Copy Ability was one of the best parts of this game.
Been following since the OG "film the TV with my Eye Toy" Sonikdude days, have always been happy to see this channel become as successful as it has. I feel like I grew up right alongside you, lmao. Here's to 200 more, my man!
Good video but man Archer deserves more recognition. It's guard literally makes you invincible to ANY attack resulting in it being so broken that you can even beat a boss without ever moving from your start location if you wanted to
My biggest problem with the mirror ability is that, for whatever god-forsaken reason, it doesn't appear in Amazing Mirror... Like, c'mon, HOW DID YOU MISS THAT OPPERTUNITY?
I had an idea for a replacement for Sleep if it ever got its Battle Royale moveset back in a mainline called Lazy. Kirby would don a pair of underwear and sit down doing nothing until getting back up. An upgraded version giving him a couch and a bag of chips to heal himself with.
What I love about Yoyo is that it's so unique. Especially the aspect that it's a superb close, grappling, and long range ability with many uses in-between. It's easily my favorite. Also, where do u get your Sonic and Kirby wall decorations in the background?
no way. NO WAY!!! Mirror is also my number 1 favorite ability! I straight up gasped seeing it on top, because I dont hear much people talk about Mirror. I adored it so much in Super star ultra and it made me even happier seeing it in Robobot. I love the look of Kirby's mirrors and the sound effects it use. I really hope to see it again in newer games. I miss it.
If anything, the introduction of the Dodge manoeuvers (Triple Deluxe onward) kind of hurt it, in my opinion. ... then again I don't like either, so that just gives me a quick excuse to bash them both at once x)
I completely agree with beam and mirror. Both are a blast to use, with mirror sliding around splitting and obliterating everything in sight, and beam's midair volley, you can't help gush whenever you run into them, knowing the impending destruction.
Damn I thought I was gonna disagree a ton with this list but honestly after thinking it over… that top 3 is damn solid and I gotta agree with that number 1
I actually think that Kirby’s backwards hat when he has Wheel is supposed to make him look like a Mechanic.
I see that
Always thought that since I was a wee child specifically from a racetrack when the cars stop and they fix the wheels
Yeah I see it now too

1. Sword. This is like picking Charizard as your favourite Pokemon. "Wow you must really like stale bread too huh?" But I can't help it. It's moveset is so full and fluid. All of it's moves feel like they connect into each other. And who doesn't love a good duel with the coolest knight around.

30:43 I have played this game for over 60 hours and I have never seen this move before! Kirby has so much depth and I love that!
I’m surprised that you didn’t mention swords upgrades in forgotten land. Sword has always been my favorite copy ability and the upgrades in forgotten land perfect it.
Sword was already one of my favorite abilities and Forgotten Land just made it better.

Throw is actually one of my top 3 favorite copy abilities.
As well as backdrop.
Yes backdrop, not suplex.
This shows how little of this series I’ve played
I thought backdrop & suplex were the same thing.
@@otakumarcus they’re slightly different. Suplex has a dash forwards while backdrop you suck in the enemy. I prefer sucking in the enemy over the dash
Animal should’ve 100% been in forgotten land instead of drill! Heck the main enemy group is called the BEAST pack! It’s such an extremely massive missed opportunity and I’m so mad….
@@Insdoodoldchannel they really could’ve just brought back Gaw Gaw and Gao Gao, I’m not mad at you just the fact that they scrapped the idea.
@@Insdoodoldchannel yeah I was about to say, it would probably be confusing for the average player about what enemy could give them animal, or if all do, then animal would show up way too often.
@@Insdoodoldchannel I mean if that’s the case then that’s dumb logic. Even in Squeak squad not all animals have animal just Gaw Gaws and Gao Gao….
@@Someguyonline24 same…
Actually, it should have been an evolution of Drill so that Flagship can continue barely being acknowledged in Kirby games.
Do it, I picked it up again yesterday and it's still stellar as heck.

Fellow Yoyo lover!!! It's always been my favorite too!
Facts!
I think I remember a Silvery video talking about that, has he deleted it?
3:53 it was also meant for Milky Way wishes. You could get it on its own isolated planet without visiting the others and it allows you to basically have the copy ability before you start getting the permanent ones.
Wing Kirby and the bird buddy were my favourite in ultra!! Defeating bosses as a cute lil bird was a highlight of my childhood
Give the man an honourable duel!)
as an added cherry on top, the sound design for mirror is just.. perfect
I had no idea that you could swallow those little balls that those bosses shoot and get the Paint ability. That's a Kirby ability I'd never even seen before. I learned something today.
The number of times I get a mix instead of Paint from Chameleo Arm is hilarious.
Congrats on 200 episodes, and thanks for all the fun provided!
Ant didn't add combo abilities from Kirby 64 because he knew everyone would guess that the number one spot would be FRIDGE KIRBY BABYYYYY
35:14 I will! Thank you AntDude!
Forgotten Land really did it justice as it feels just as powerful as it was in the 2D games.
to 300 and beyond! cheers to Kirby!
I kept watching, thinking "I wonder where mirror will fall on this list." Never did I think I'd see another big Mirror fan to rank it so perfectly.
Imagine if one day a kirby game lanches with every single ability seen up until now, it would be crazy
Let's not forget about the move named "Painbrush"
As a younger brother, Copy ranks way higher for me. Because it sucks for Kirby, but the thief side character is super strong, plus as you mentioned having control over your own powers. Copy is the hero of anyone that was often relegated to second player.
The fact that Ant and I have the same favourite ability makes me SO unreasonably happy 😭😭 I've never fully understood why I love mirror as much as I do, but honestly I think you summarized it pretty accurately!! Amazing video all around :D
As a very casual Kirby fan, let's see if I can make my own top 10:
1-UFO (I mean, come on)
2-Hammer
3-Suplex
4-Smash
5-Sword
6-Mirror
7-Fighter
8-Fire
9-CHESTOOOOOOOOOO
10-Yo-yo
Mirror is my favorite ability as well! I was over the moon when I saw it at number one.
Silvery: Puts Plasma before Spark
Antdude: Puts Plasma after Spark
Mad respect for using the Peppermint Palace theme with Ice Kirby
Amazing Mirror had a fantastic soundtrack, and that's easily a top 3 track.
I'll always have a lot of affection for Mirror, if only because its special guard/shield move is undefeated. Pleasantly surprised to see it rank so highly.
Ah yes the 200th episode is a Kirby episode. Truly one of the moments of all time.
Thank you for apologizing about the color about your walls.
Huh? There’s 277 videos.
@@madysonandres9571 there are 200 episodes where AntDude reviews things
@@wiseguidedmissile Oh.
Fun fact! The grab in Ninja is called an Inzuna drop, and is something of a staple of fighting game Ninjas. Examples can be seen in Samurai Shodown and Marvel vs. Capcom.
Nioh has a really cool Izuna Drop as well!
Forgot the part of upgraded sleep in Forgotten Land where it also doubles your health bar and gives you a timed speed boost. That puts it up way higher for me
Don't forget the third member of the "store buffs you can randomly get from the Deep Sleep evolution" crew, the attack boost!
Yesss, a great top two. Even if I was starting to worry that number one would get somehow passed over by mistake until it finally showed up, haha.
This video is eerily similar to Silvery's video he uploaded a while ago. Like, the wording is nearly the same in some segments.
I saw the video about him talking about it.

Facts!
best 200 episode video ever! i love your Kirby videos so much!
28:39 I wonder if Kirby can also turn people into snails with his rainbows
When I was very young Sword and Wing were my favorite ones and I loved them so much
You can't imagine my shock and joy when I played Triple Deluxe and found out Beetle was like a combination of the 2, still remains my favorite to this day
Honestly I prefer freeze and burning over fire and ice Soley because of the costume. Like I wish they’d switch the costumes of the 2 that’d make them feel more original
Kirby's magic ability is incredibly underrated in Squeak Squad. Say what you want about That DS title, but that Copy Ability was one of the best parts of this game.
I personally like archer, it's cool, and it does basically the same amount of damage as hammer.
Been following since the OG "film the TV with my Eye Toy" Sonikdude days, have always been happy to see this channel become as successful as it has. I feel like I grew up right alongside you, lmao. Here's to 200 more, my man!
The “Love-Love Stick” sounds like an item used for personal pleasure.
And there's probably a replica used for just that, out there x)
Good video but man Archer deserves more recognition. It's guard literally makes you invincible to ANY attack resulting in it being so broken that you can even beat a boss without ever moving from your start location if you wanted to
You forgot the final form of sword in forgotten land is Morpho knight. And that’s just fantastic
Odd, I hate spiders and Spider happens to be one of my favorite abilities, especially design wise.
Real spiders: AAAAAAH.
Cartoony ones: AAAAAAW.
Something like that x)
Yeah, pretty much
no way. I miss it.
Kirby’s number one copy ability is copying perfection 👌
and luckily it's the default
But you can't copy dedede
the rock ability is my favourite, its so destructive and in star allies it has a rock fist that SMASHES
Can’t believe you actually painted your walls; absolute legend
I LOVE MIRROR KIRBY!!! The whole episode I was wondering hmm who could it be 🤔 but I completely forgot about my FAVORITE ABILITY!! Dope list.
Plasma was one of if not the best power in Superstar. All you had to do was hold block and go ham on the d-pad, it’d make you near invincible.
