  • Dan and Jacob walk through a little bit of a discussion on the topic of their own and the community's picks for:
    Your favorite infantry,
    Your favourite tank,
What do you consider to be the worst infantry
What do you consider to be the worst tank
And a point or two on what we'd like to see Warlord do in a golden universe

How to fix MMGs, HMGs, heavy tanks and light “Dakka” tanks all in one go.
    1. Infantry based MMG teams automatically inflict 1 pin for targeting a unit. Shoot as normal but even if you don’t make any hit the target still takes a pin. This ONLY applies to MMG and HMG teams. Not LMGs or anything mounted on a vehicle.
    2. HMGs now get 5 shots instead of 3.
    3. Coaxial weapons on tanks and other vehicles can now fire at the same target as the main gun. This makes all tanks better, but really helps medium and heavy tanks compete with “Dakka tanks”.

My Favourite Infantry is the Standard Rifle/MG squads. They are the core of any army and generally give you a good solid core for beginners but a solid choice for experience veteran players. Plus every army seems to have a different flavour type of them. I find that interesting too.
My least favourite is Gurkha Maori as they didn't exist. They are two separate people.

I really like the idea about changing the Advance order to allow movement before or after shooting.
I've got another suggestion too. The Down order. Back in 1st edition, only an extra -1 to hit seemed barely worthwhile to ever do. Now in 2nd edition -2 to be hit seems huge and a bit too strong imo. I think the Down order shouldn't affect the to-hit roll at all. Instead, the Down order should make the shooter re-roll successful hits.

That's a very interesting suggestion that would also allow for some variety and reduced lethality.

I think the best way would be add one to hit and one to wound. So you're marginally harder to hit (but easier to pin than in 2nd) and harder to kill. So essentially it means that you've dived to the floor and basically voluntarily pinned yourself but you're a bit harder to kill because you're eating dirt.

If you wished for a plastic French infantry kit then you’re in luck!

1:40:11 Machine Gun "indirect" fire is nothing at all like mortar indirect fire, maybe like howitzer indirect fire but definitely not to the same degree of elevation as a howitzer would use, how would MMGs getting indirect fire without a spotter even make them more useful?

Yeah we aren't convinced this is the right answer for mmgs in comparison to other popular suggestions.

My wishlist is strictly USSR 1.... AVT-40's these was select fire SVT's that was brought out as a stop gap measure mid spring 1942 to late 43 until DP-27 machineguns could catch up and so be given to the troops instead of being ear marked for the armor and aircraft armament. They would basically be Soviet BAR's in profile and function 2....... Dodge 3/4 ton or WC-51 truck as 25,000 was given to the Soviets and quite a few was armed with the heavy DShK 12.7mm MG as convoy escort and anti Panzerschrek ambush vehicles for tanks and infantry carriers. 3...... BM-8- 24 they was built on T-40 and 60 light tank chassis with maybe a few T-70's around 130 was made> They was refurbished light tanks with the turret removed and replaced by a multi rocket rail for R-82 rockets, they would be a huge upgrade over the truck based Katyusha. As then you wouldn't have to worry about everyone with a slingshot on taking it out since it has armor protection. 4 Last would be the ZSU-37 since there is one thing the Soviets are weak on is anti aircraft vehicles. The ZSU-37 used a modified T-70/Su-76 chassis with a single 37mm autocannon in a turret at the rear of the vehicle. They built around 120 at the end of the war in Europe but never fielded during the war just like the M-19 as over 200 was in France but never was used in the front.
