This scene really hits differently after God's appearance in the final season. God had little to no understanding of physical pain. Granted, this was when he temporarily made himself human, but you'd think an all knowing being would have the foresight to implant some instinctive memory into his human form so the slightest experience of pain wouldn't cause a panic attack. I think that while he understood how pain was SUPPOSED to feel, he was never able to actually successfully imagine himself in pain, because he simply had no experience of it, even when he was at full power and ought to know such things.
So think about what he's done to Cain. Cain's body heals, and a hell of a lot slower than say, Wolverine. So his pain lasts a lot longer than most characters in fiction with rapid healing factors. And 2000 years, of countless wars and atrocities. No chance Cain could have dodged them all given how unsafe say, ancient Egyptian, Roman and medieval times were compared to today. And Cain was likely conscripted to fight in close to a hundred wars unless he maintained a position of political power for that whole time, and given how fast he got bored as the years went on, I highly doubt that he did. Think of all that physical pain Cain suffered. And we saw in the final season that God absolutely did not understand the emotional pain he inflicted on anyone. He had a plan, sure, to turn Lucifer from a rebellious conqueror into a healer, and knew it would eventually work and that Lucifer would accept the role gladly and willingly. But he didn't understand what he was putting Lucifer through in the meantime. How easy is it to slip into an 'ends justify the means' mentality when you can literally see the future and you know it actually will be for the best ultimately?
Cain suffered 2000 years of physical and emotional torture and God didn't even realise what he'd sentenced Cain to. He just knew Cain would eventually learn his lesson and that was enough for God. And on top of that, from what we saw of Cain and Abel, they were as bad as each other. Cain was just the one that survived. At least given Abel spent most of his time in a Hell Loop time would have been kind of distorted for him. Most of the time, despite effectively spending millions of years in hell (because in Hell time passes faster), Abel wouldn't have remembered 99% of that time. It would have only been in the rare moments when the demons spoke to him between hell loops that Abel actually felt how long he'd been there (and I also wonder if a human mind could even retain millions of years of memories when I barely remember last week). So you could argue Cain had it worse (most of the time), and he hadn't even gotten to hell yet.
I wish these were plot points that the show pursued more. Like most Hollywood shows, the storyline just mindlessly pursues reconciliation with abusive parents. Lucifer and even Amenadiel had every right to turn on their father instead of returning to his side. And Amenadiel will definitely be a better god than his father was (but no one says this), because he's actually capable of real empathy with his subjects, and is forcing other angels to spend time on Earth like he and Lucifer did in order to understand the people they are supposed to protect.
And since this show barely touches the idea of Jesus, it's unclear if that part of this show's story was similar to God making himself human in the final season. And honestly given the Bible portrays Jesus as fully aware of who and what he was and could still perform miracles, and how God kind of turned into a clueless moron (who even forgot where he'd left his powers) when he deliberately fully depowered himself in the final season, it seems likely Jesus and God's human form are not equivalent entities. So something Amenadiel figured out so fast, God failed to do when he supposedly existed as a celestial on Earth for far longer back in the day.

    "I don't care."
As much as I hate Pierce, that was a pretty good response.

Hi LuciChloe I have a request, if I may: I'm not English fluent and it's quite hard for me (and I believe for more people) to understand what they are saying, it's easier read than hear. Is there a way someone could subtitle their dialogue in your videos?? Pleeeeeease?

You have to use the RUclips option of subtitle, it's not 100% right, but it helps.

I still dont get it: Lucifer, the king of hell and all kinds of demon, who aflicts pain and torture for fun, has a guy in front of him who cant die but still feel pain. And the biggest threat he can come up with here is: exposure? I guess even the lord of hell has a weak moment.

And besides I think he isn't following the rules of heaven or hell that much when he thinks his dad is involved. But hey it's just my opinion.

Probably too much effort to torture a guy that politely asks for a drink while dealing with the pain of a fatal wound.

@@johnt.6107 Cain just killed an asshole for a brother, a brother who is rotting in Hell, and the only rule he follows when it comes to his father is the rule of not killing humans, which he broke at the end of his season, and no he does not torture for fun, he hates torturing

Whine fest:) there are worse things than being immortal and looking great. Once Cane dies and goes to Hell he will long for a do over. Loved how Charlotte called him out on his treatment of his employees.
