My family was supportive, but they either brushed it under the rug, or treated it incredibly seriously. After years of this, I finally told my dad and brothers, I would really feel accepted when my orientation was treated more like a quirk in me, no different than my Dad's balding head, my brother's propensity to burn what he cooks, or my mother's bizarre addiction to her soap opera. I wanted to be kidded, gently teased and made to feel it was OK with a little bit of laughter. We can relax as members of our family, see it as a foible in us, learn to joke a little about all the pieces and parts that make us who we are and that is healthy.
Hey just seen your video part 1 and 2 and am so proud of you to take that big step to come out. No matter what your parents will still love you even if they dont approve or say. Wish you all the best. God Bless
It's great to see the acceptance coming to LGBTQ kids from their Asian parents. Ofcourse Sam got to be a bit lucky based on several aspects, not many South Asian kids can have it. P.S. Loved your Father's reaction. Cheers mate.
Congrats on the amazing second video. Everything resonated with me so well (except the being on TV part lol). You've given great advice at the end. As for the fact that people don't bug you about getting married happens to me too. And I don't think it's because Desis don't speak too much. It's maybe because this is uncharted territory for most of them. I think it's great that they didn't change their attitude towards you. That's a huge plus giving the general idea I have from our communities. Looking forward for your next videos!
Sam, you are very handsome looking - I’m 53, Irish gay man and I would happily date you in a heartbeat - by the way, have you ever thought of doing a collab with Irish RUclipsr Riyadh Khalaf - also, next time you go on holiday, I highly recommend the beautiful West of Ireland next summer 🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪❤️

Thank you! 🌈🙌🏽
Thank you for sharing with us. Your mother is special to have even thought about your struggles growing up gay.
