With super powers because fuck it
MK9:kabal gets burned while working with stryker then gets his respirator,then unlocks his super powers
MK11:He doesn't need his respirator, he's apart of the black dragon and already has his powers
He wasn't undercover and feeding Kano info. He had left the black dragon and became a cop out of remorse. That's why after he gets burned and Kano saves him with the respirator and gives him his hookswords back he dips.

After D'vorah runs from scorpion she literally doesn't appear in the story again.

The saddest part about Mileena's character is that there have been hints of her genuinely wanting to have a sisterly relationship with Kitana initially. But Kitana constantly pushing her away and being utterly disgusted by her mere existence drove Mileena to grow her deep-seeded hatred and envy for Kitana, and caused her to become even more murderous and mad.
It would have been interesting if Neatherrealm gave Mileena a type of "I didn't ask to be made" type mentality. Or maybe something similar to Arcane Jinx
Amethyst from SU is basically the same character: Conflict about being something "bad" and actually being bad... but who decided what's good and what's not? it's not Mileena's fault that she was made to be a monster, an abominable copy of someone else so she can replace them. Now she's really the monster that everybody calls her, but that's just because she kinda half accepted that role, nobody would belive in her anyway...
And guess what, that's what they did, basically

Because Kitana opposed her existence along with her tarkatan biology created a mad creature who had no true purpose of her own other than replace Kitana

@@Your_Mom498Terrible take. And this wasn’t even about the characters, it was about how they are in the story. Both Kuai and Hanzo are pretty set and have their shit all locked down (besides a few things like Sektor but both their clans are restored) during the timeline before the reset happens.

Kotal really fucking doesn't have reason to let her go, if the intro dialogue of their potential affair isn't canon, she still fucking betray him and he's been shown to be quite merciless. Note that she didn’t technically lie, she just answers vaguely in a way which implies she killed him. Probably because Sindel asked her to keep all that a secret.

I do like to think that Kronika was in fact just dangling fake rewards in front of everyone as a way of getting them to do what she wanted. Like Bi-Han says in his ending, she made lots of promises to everyone, there was realistically no way she could keep them all. She just wanted to get the end results as easily as possible.

That’s just NRS writing for you. Noob is weak, Ermac is weak, Shao Kahn is weak, everyone that should be insanely strong is weak as hell. All this is basically due to the fact that Dominic Cianciolo doesn’t understand power levels, nor does he understand how to keep a narrative remotely cohesive, nor does he understand the rules of time travel, and yet they let him write 2 time travel stories. So yeah, as sad as it is, don’t expect characters to have accurate power levels until we get a completely new writer.
I've said it in other places, but they seriously need to make an in-universe tier list for who would beat who in a fight.
Don't forget about Smoke.

I mean. They mention Daegon and Hsu Hao more than a few times. So they’re not exactly “buried”. But even good characters just sometimes don’t get played. Most people are in agreement that Fujin is better than Raiden but he took 13 years to be playable again. I don’t think it’s exclusively a NRS problem with some characters not coming back.

Kronika as a villain hinges upon the fact she manipulates people by promising them everything they want in a new timeline. Even if this is all a lie, it falls apart the moment any of her lackies realise everyone else they are working with. At best, they should need some convincing that it is possible for everyone to get what they want and at worst, they should all freak out the moment they see each other and turn on Kronika for obviously trying to cheat them.

The Elder Gods literally didn't do nothing in the entire saga besides empowering Raiden to kill Shao Kahn in MK9. It will be interesting to see with the new MK1 trailer if Fire God Liu Kang will even hear them

I never saw the original MK movies (i was alive back then, i guess they just didn't air them in my country), but I can fully agree that Hiroyuki Togawa as Shang Tsung is the best Shang Tsung. He is amazing in this game, my favorite character.

I always believed a character who has free access to time travel and time manipulation would be unstoppable... since any mistakes they make, they could just go back to when the mistake happened and undo/fix it... any moments of vulnerability would be negated and it would come off to the others that the time wizard is some sort of input-reading mind-reader.
For a character that has reset the timeline countless times, she had all the time in the multiverse to perfect her abilities and be untouchable, even without her ability-enhancing crown... or she was too complacent having presumably "won" in countless timelines, she had no reason to think this one would be any different.

That’s what the game wants you to think before the big twist that she’s actually reset time countless of times because the realms stopped fighting.

Something has always bothered me about Aftermath and idk if it was ever brought up but, when either Sindel or Shao kill Kung Lao by throwing him into the sea of blood... shouldn't his revenant have started choking and throwing up blood from drowning? You know like how Liu Kang's legs shattered. Instead Rev Kung Lao is on the final room with the remaining revs waiting to get killed for basically the third time in this time line.
The theory that I heard was that Kung Lao isn't dead. He just swam away XD

I've always assumed, especially after the revelation that Liu and Raiden have fought in multiple timelines, that every fight you as a player partake in is in an alternate timeline. One in which different events have happened that caused the two fighters to face eachother. (This also being the case for MKX and Injustice 2). So D.Vora saying she killed Jerod or seeing the corpse of Ferra Torr likely is true in that very small glimpse of the timeline that you get to see during that fight. The timeline the actual story takes place in is not the same one as any other fight you play in the rest of the game. There may be some convenient overlaps (Like Liu and Raiden) but NONE of them are actually canon.

Imagine that scenario where we get Kronika quickly sends out different DLC characters as sort of a homage to the Shang Tsung fight of MK1 where you have to fight different people during the boss fight

Yep, I had to question the Sindel retcon simply for the fact that the twist added a good few layers, as coupled with the mind control, it had me and Revolver Ocelot next to each other saying that was a "pretty good" amount of effort put into explaining why she cheated on her husband

Actually, Shinnok's defeat was simply unlucky. Johnny Cage has power that's good for defeating godlike creatures, but that power doesn't really do anything big to anyone else. It's like a god silver bullet.
So yeah, Shinnok wasn't defeated by pathetic humans, he was defeated by effectively the only thing that could defeat him- as humiliating as it may be.

What about Shinnok? The whole reason Kronika devised her plan was to avenge him. Why didn't she reverse time to before he had his head cut off and save him? Or bring another version of him back. He isn't dead just headless. It always pissed me off whenever the revenants would bow to his head but he was still alive. Why not re attach his head? Lui Kang could do it since he learned all of Shang Tsungs magic.
