The point I'm trying to make is that in each of these conflicts, we viewed ourselves as the hero, and the people that hurt us as the villainous savages, and how we're doing everything in our respective powers to take each other out. For example, I'm sure in Russia, they're treating Americans like the villain the same way we treat Russians like the villain here. In the end, this song shows that there are two sides to different stories, the Indians viewing the white men as villains and vice versa, just like in real life there are two sides to a story.

Growing up watching this movie, I never really understood what was this movie was about at all. As I gotten older now, I realized how real these lyrics are. The music gives me chills frfr.

The problem with Pocahontas was that it was very historically inaccurate (mainly in terms of Pocahontas and John smiths relationship, and what actually happened to her) and that it did in a way place stereotypes on native American women and people. But this song is the best song in the entire movie, because of how well it brought up the subject of racism to children. It was a pretty good movie for it's time, but it definitely could've been a LOT better, if that makes sense? And yes I know it's a kid's movie, but sometimes kids need to be introduced to the violence, you can't sugarcoat what Europeans have done to native Americans, and you can't sugarcoat Pocahontas's story

The problem with Pocahontas was that it was very historically inaccurate (mainly in terms of Pocahontas and John smiths relationship, and what actually happened to her) and that it did in a way place stereotypes on native American women and people. But this song is the best song in the entire movie, because of how well it brought up the subject of racism to children. It was a pretty good movie for it's time, but it definitely could've been a LOT better, if that makes sense? And yes I know it's a kid's movie, but sometimes kids need to be introduced to the violence, you can't sugarcoat what Europeans have done to native Americans, and you can't sugarcoat Pocahontas's story
It wasn't meant to be historically accurate, if you forget about the real story and take the movie for the piece of fiction it is, it's a lot better. In fact, it's my favorite Disney movie behind Tangled
