Im sure this new album will be amazing, cause it will be something different for the other records. We have to suport Jeff, cause he have an amazing voice and is helping to keep the STP legacy alive
God bless Scott, but the dude couldn’t get sober. If he was still alive, I suspect there would be some sort of impasse between him and the band. The rest of STP have done a “Let’s move forward”, and I find it inspiring! We’ve lost Bowie, Tom Petty, Lemmy, AND Scott Weiland, but I prefer to take these legacies and move forward. Perdida is heartfelt and soulful music and I am grateful for it!!
The new stuff hasn't been bad, but nothing is really standing out as mind blowing yet. I guess I just would've preferred more of a rock album and not one of acoustic ballads. But again, it's not that bad.

Beautiful, just beautiful. Jeff’s voice is clear and hauntingly sad. I have followed him since X-Factor (he should have won), and he deserves to be where he is. Good luck in all you do, Jeff.

Btw, props to Jeff Gutt. His voice resembles Scott vocals at a very high level. Amazing perfomance. Now, about the word “Perdida” in spanish means “Lost” but if you put an accent mark to the letter “e” (PÉRDIDA) it means “Loss”. So, I think its brilliant what they did by naming it like that because it gives double meaning the scenario. Wonderful band!
It seems people want to judge this like it's a typical STP release its not it is a artistic departure that the band had wanted to make for 2 or 3 decades and it is fantastic. This shows the diversity of the band and once this album is released and we see the entire picture they have painted they will move on and give us what we crave on their next release which I believe will happen by 2021 at the latest. Enjoy this for the masterpiece that it is. Jeff has really fit right into STP and we are lucky he is in the band. I feel like this is the Art of Letting go of this album. STP can do it all.

It's in the same neighborhood as Big Empty. Big Empty has that smoke-filled blues club feel to it during the verses. This has a cantina feel to it. It just doesn't get harder and louder during the refrain, which makes sense on an acoustic album.

This type of album should have been done 25 years ago. Just like AIC, STP knows how to make acoustic music with their own signature tone in them. Glad that it is finally coming out. Wish it was Scott, but life moves on and Jeff is a spot on and talented singer taking the legacy and new stuff in the right direction, in the vocal department that is.

Some say Stone Temple Pilots are The Beatles of the 90s. The Beatles were the Beatles Stone Temple Pilots are the Stone Temple Pilots two of the greatest to exist in music history. Kretz and the DeLeo Brothers write phenomenal music. Scott completed them. Now Jeff has completed the first chapter of a new era. Hopefully a long catalog of beautiful relaxing and of course neck-breaking speed hard rocking STP that got us addicted to them in the first place

It's only in terms of SOFTNESS; they have a lot in common, although their stylistic structures are quite different.
