I haven't commented on one single RUclips video in the past, but You SIR deserve it.. Changed my game completely. Wishing you health, wealth & happiness. God bless
I can attest to the fact that this method works to cure golfers elbow. I had golfers elbow for years and just played through it but was unable to practise at all so never got any better. I came across Paul’s site and as soon as he mentioned turning off his arms, realised this could be the answer. After just a few months my golfers elbow has completely vanished, i’m practising every day, and the handicap is down to 4 with a bullet. When I first started doing it and didn’t quite have the hang of it, occasionally it would still hurt and I realised I had used my arms. It was almost like aversion therapy when I did the wrong thing! I wholeheartedly recommend Paul‘s method for those who are injured, and I can see this swing lasting me well into my 80s and 90s. I’m 57 now! Thanks again Paul, Matt
So glad I could get you playing pain free. Not fun otherwise. I just hope others find this tip and start working on it. If they keep hitting with the arms they will never get rid of golfer's elbow. Just a different way to do it.
It does for me, I have epicondylitis on my left arm, that I managed but came back recently; and now my right elbow is starting to send pain messages… 😢 I don’t have a choice at this point than to try. Thanks
This is literally the first lesson I’ve found addressing golfers elbow…I have it so bad that I can only play once a week. 🙁 I will definitely try your technique of hitting more with body rotation of hips…I sure hope this works as I would love to be able to play more often. Thank you for sharing your experience in golfing. ❤️
Glad you found me. I figured this tip would help a lot of people. It's not fun having golfer's elbow and few every cure it. Stay focused and you will totally eliminate it forever. After you stop having pain please comment again.
Great lesson for curing golfer's elbow. I started playing golf 4 years ago and developed golfer's elbow quickly. And this was absolutely because I swung with my arms, trying to force the lead arm straight, which resulted in a very short backswing. So, of course, I felt I had to swing even harder with such a short backswing, which compounded the problem. Over time I learned to swing more with my body than with my arms. Watching these tutorials, I think, will speed up the process of what I have been figuring out myself slowly over these 4 years. Here in New England the golf season is over until April, but I love the drills Paul suggests that one can practice indoors without even thinking about hitting an actual ball. I am looking forward to spring even more than usual. Can't wait to apply many of these lessons on the real course. Thanks Paul.
Sorry, I missed this comment. You are proof that hitting hard with the arms causes it. Glad you have been working on it. Your season will be starting soon so start off swinging super easy and get more power with the legs and hips. Switch the power source and your golfer's elbow will be gone forever.
Enjoying your tips as I recover from my motorcycle accident my shoulder is healed so I’m back taking swings in the backyard trying to get my swing back, the doctors don’t want me on the course till I get my skin graft on my leg but watching you helps I miss golf so much it’s unbelievable keep up the great work
Glad you're still here and healing. Just keep doing the practice swings. Try to make each position, movement and drill perfect. Don't see it as a negative as I keep telling people this is the best way to practice. Once you are fully healed you should be playing great golf.
I recently took up golfing and immediately developed golfers elbow as I also work at a desk 12hrs a day. This is excellent advice and very clear instructions that I will implement and hopefully the pain goes away.
So glad you found me. Golfer's elbow is not fun and it will never go away if you keep doing what you are doing. Make the switch and you will be pain free in no time making this game much more enjoyable.
Since i start doin your system, no more elbow hurting, no more back hurting... sometimes the only thing i can feel a little pain its the finger on side of the pinky of the right hand, cause that little bone lets say it touches the bone of the left hand index finger. Hope it makes sense... but its been goin great and every day i feel it goes easier. Just yep... takes some time to stop hitting it with the arms. But once you start to discover the sensation it feel amazing. Thanks Mr. Paul Wilson.
I have watched Paul's videos for about a week and a half. When I started, I suffered from costochondritis on my front-left ribs and a mix of tennis and golfers elbow on my right arm (I swing right-handed, but I am left-handed). When I felt well enough, I headed to the range this week and haven't missed a day. Each day, practicing Paul's principles, I have noticed I'm hitting the ball further, straighter, and now only with mild soreness, which is getting much better. I don't feel as fatigued as I did before when I obviously had repetitive stress injuries. Granted, I still get tired at the end of my sessions, but that's after 200 balls. I still have moments where I swing a 7-iron over 140 yards and on others where I can only hit it 70 yards, but I'm finding I'm getting more consistent. I was at a point where I felt like I was going to have to give up on golf and go back to swimming because I have always been a fish out of the water, but this is the first time I feel so energized after practicing my swing. Thanks, Paul!
So glad you are trying it and already seeing less pain as you swing. You are on track so keep at it. Little bit of work and you will have a swing for life.
I was out there working at Lake Las Vegas in 1996. I've been in golf for over 50 years and play ok. Brother played at ASU with Phil M. and you sir, are the most comprehensive instructor of the game I tip my hat and many kudos to you. You have a good communication style also.
Thank you for your kind words. Just 31 years of standing on a range wondering "why." Then ... knowing my students and putting it in terms they understand. From lesson 1, I always thought "fast and easy." It has to be easy and they need to see results fast otherwise they will not do or remember it. My other thought is "I need people to do this without me." Isn't that the whole point? Unlike everyone else who wants you coming back ... I want you to go away. Different business model but if you actually do what I teach people will ask you where you got that swing so I have a never ending supply of students and have never had to advertise. I went through all of this learning myself many years ago after I started taking lessons and lost my swing. It took me 10 years to get it back and that was working on it daily. So I decided I never want anyone to go through what I went through so here we are many years later keeping it simple and getting people to play their best golf. Thanks again for your kind words.
@@paulwilsongolf well, I totally agree with everything you have said Paul. Additionally, I think it might have been you who was asking a student one time about the furthest shots they hit and if they were hard swings. And the guy said "No, they were my easiest swings"...nevertheless, if I am misremembering that, I have seen you on that video where you hit 4 balls to that 325 yard par 4 and you hit two pin high and the other two were right near the green, and your swing looked so easy.
Yes, that's my line. If everyone has hit that one shot then why isn't everyone just dying to learn that swing? This is the swing I teach. Hopefully as I keep doing what I do word will keep getting out and it will be the popular way to swing. Seems like everyone wants to teach average players Tour swings when they practice once a week and are usually not in their 20's. The snowball has started rolling down the hill with my RUclips tips. At some point it will be unstoppable. Just need to keep doing what I do and word will keep spreading.
@@paulwilsongolf That's perplexing to me too: why isn't everyone dying to learn that easy swing that produces way better contact and distance and accuracy. I think part of that answer lies in that some folks only say they want to get better but they don't...I can't think of one reason why I would even hit one shot without the thought of always trying to learn and improve. Some people might be afraid to get better for other reasons such as not wanting to beat a friend or boss. I think the majority of people do want to improve though. Thanks Paul ❤
@@paulwilsongolf I have learned to accept the good with the bad. I embrace and enjoy the ups and the downs of golf (as in I have played at pretty high levels at times shooting a 69 one time and many rounds in the low 70's. But many more "bad" rounds because of the limitations of time, my body, my mind, etc.). It changed my approach to both once I discovered that playing golf is the same as living one's life...one will find trouble, one will make bad decisions, one will have fleeting moments of success, one will always have to make due with the physical and mental tools that only one possess and shouldn't be obsessed with comparing oneself to others
Very good. That's so exciting when you see results and know you can do it. Keep doing daily practice swings working on positions, movements and drills. This is the fastest way to get it.
I had tennis elbow (aka golfer's elbow) for about 1 1/2 years. Virtually no golf during that time. It was in my right elbow and I got it from hitting too many range balls. I went to the orthopedic doctor and he said it will heal itself in 1-2 years!! I said, I don't have 1-2 years to deal with this awful pain. He was right, after about 14 months, it just went away. I am now trying the body swing, and it is definitely better on my right elbow. Thanks.
Hi Paul, thank you for explaining this so well, although I developed this condition recently I was unaware it was a result of me getting back into golf! I thought it was RSI from another exercise I have been doing for a long time. It makes perfect sense from your explanations and I can see I have been trying to whack the ball with my arms rather than my hips. Looking forward to implementing this swing change mate. All the best from Australia :)
I have taught countless people who took a break and got back into golf. It's always the same they always hit with arms. This is due to human nature telling you to hit the object sitting in front of you and hit it hard. Glad you found this tip. Start working on turning the arms off and using the legs and hips for power. If so, any arm pain will disappear.
Awesome video again! Feel that stretched out feeling in the living room but not on the course yet. Played yesterday shot 84 (because I can’t pitch/chip) but I actually started to feel confident standing over shots. Usually I feel anxious. Swing thought was “leave relaxed arms behind, turn belt buckle.” Need to add stretch the arms. Do you have a pitching video?
Glad you tried it around the house. This is what I want everyone doing. Indoor practice swings. This it the easiest way to learn this stuff. Pitching is simple. Set the backswing by hinging your wrists for the shot you are trying to hit. Once set, turn your belt buckle as I show in this tip to hit the shot. HINGE/TURN ruclips.net/video/BZD0_jPL8ks/видео.html
@@paulwilsongolf thank you. I’m sorry watched the pulling wedges video twice but pulling isn’t my issue. It’s how do I make a 50 or 30 or 20 yard pitch shot in your system. To me those shots do feel like arm swings but I know you will probably have a different view. I found myself getting stuck yesterday asking myself “how would Paul play this 40 yard sand wedges shot?
Pitch exactly as I just told you. HINGE/TURN. This is exactly how I teach it. You hinge different backswing lengths. For a 40 yard pitch I would point the butt of the club at the ground going back. As soon as I set the hinge I turn the belt buckle. My powerless arms come down and through to hit the shot. Shorter shots point the butt at the target. Longer shots point the butt away from the target. HINGE/TURN.
It always looks so nice on your golf course there. I'm a little envious sometimes, i usually have to wear a fleece and windbreaker even in summer. Thank you for your videos, I am trying to change from arms to body swing, and I still forget sometimes! It is so much easier to use the body though, and while i'm doing that I am usually a lot more accurate though at the expense of distance. (that will come with time and practice though!) Better to land on the fairway and have to take an extra shot to the green than slice into the gorse and drop a ball! Anyway thanks, I'm really enjoying your videos and I *have* improved!
Yes, it's a pretty cool range. Great view. You may have to move. Glad you like the tips. I appreciate the support. Yes, get the swing then when you are ready try for a little more distance. To get more distance you need to understand that there is timing between the release and body rotation. If you only speed up the body of course you're going to blow it right. So the first thing you need to do is roll the wrists from the top and hit 10 hooks in a row. This speeds up the release. Now you can drive the lower harder to straighten it out. If you blow it right do it again. Do this but early: ruclips.net/video/Xk7t9yHCO-I/видео.html Here are the drills (wrists): ruclips.net/video/M868QsTlGt4/видео.html ruclips.net/video/N-nGM6yN790/видео.html ruclips.net/video/yHEv7G9Z5-0/видео.html Remember to roll it from the top to get it hooking. @@paulwilsongolf I've been practicing these drills for the past several days, and spent some time at the range too before heading onto the golf course. It's surprising how much easier it is to play. because i'm not using my arms I feel less tired half way around the course. I've also been a lot more accurate a lot more of the time. I've only sliced a few times, and whenever I do, I pause and do some half powered shots for awhile until i'm back in my groove. A lot more practice to be done, but these have made a great difference for me. Thank you! heading out again this afternoon for another round and really looking forward to it!
I'm having to lay off for several weeks due to golfer's elbow, but I'll be working on this when I get back out there. When you mentioned the butt of the grip being further from your body, something clicked for me. Every now and then, out of frustration after hitting a couple of bad shots in a row, I'll just walk up to the ball and mindlessly hit it with no setup, alignment, etc. It almost always ends up being a really good shot when I do that. And I'm pretty sure the reason why has something to do with the butt of the grip being further away. Anyway, until I get back out there I'll be practicing my putting and chipping.
Yes, to out when you are feeling better. Don't want to keep tweaking it. I would be doing daily practice swings. You need to get used to the new feeling. What and practice this one: ruclips.net/video/LAejvDbw_aA/видео.html
@@paulwilsongolf I went to the range today and took my first full swings in 3 weeks. I related to your tip about slinging the club down the fairway, and I went out with that and 3 other thoughts: arms do nothing, belt buckle starts the downswing, and tits to the target. I only took my SW and PW, but I was hitting straighter and more consistent than I have in quite a while. Had a bit of trouble with my half-swings hitting fat, but I'll keep working on that. All in all, today was a success and a good start to getting the feel of the swing that you recommend. Thanks, brother!
So glad you tried it. Fat shots is too much weight on your back foot at impact. They were half swings so you weren't leading with the hips. Keep at it and see how you do with longer clubs. Keep doing the drill daily to keep getting used to the feeling. Get this and no more pain.

I think your new name should be Paul Wilson Golf Medium, because every time I need something you have the perfect video for it like you’re reading my mind💯💯💯🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️
As a seated golfer you are still rotating your shoulders. If not, you couldn't even hit it 100 yards with just your arms and no body rotation. So if you can even turn a little you should have no problem getting power with loose wrists. I demonstrate this all the time for my seniors. I do about a 45 degree shoulder turn and fly it by them. Watch: ruclips.net/video/O9jr3G1FF6M/видео.html In this video I am turning more but you will see how much power I can generate doing nothing and keeping my wrists loose. Now apply it to your swing.
@@paulwilsongolf Thanks for the suggestion. Even though I am 77 and have had 5 wrist surgeries, two shoulders and two elbow surgeries I still am out there trying to play the game.
I’ve been working on effortless power by turning off the arms. Two problems I encounter are at the start of the swing and the moment leading up to impact. How do I start the backswing without activating the forearms to manage the clubs weight and bring it to the “top”? And is it just commitment to the process to not grab the grip just before impacting the ball? Also I’m in Vegas this next week. I’m sure its a long shot, but could I arrange a lesson with you?
Powerless arms is not on the way back it is on the way down and through. I don't want you snatching it back though either. You can take it back many different ways. Left shoulder, right shoulder, both shoulders, back to the target is a popular one. Arms are extended from your body. Move your body and your arms move. Once you get to halfway back you need to se the hinge which means you are manually hinging your wrist to their maximum. As you keep doing this, you loosen them up and they will go up their on their own. So think coil then hinge. ruclips.net/video/5_O0H2QNFo0/видео.html ruclips.net/video/k1OhZyWKgGc/видео.html Thank you for your interest in lessons but I am off until October. Next time.
Yes, all 3 of those would have your lead arm straight at impact. With chipping I wouldn't be extending it out in the through swing. Chipping is like putting. It's a stroke.ruclips.net/video/MK9MyN3mdt8/видео.html
Paul, when I totally relax my arms and let them stretch out, they usually stretch out too soon and I end up hitting the ground behind the ball. If I try to keep my right elbow tucked inside so it doesn't stretch out too soon, then my arms turn on and tense up. How do I keep my arms totally relaxed, but not stretch out too soon without turning them on?
This would be you not firing your body. You need to fire the lower body then allow the arms to stretch out. The don't both stretch out until after impact. Watch: ruclips.net/video/jEWe9Gaoqxo/видео.html ruclips.net/video/MTLQWJLRAU0/видео.html ruclips.net/video/gMVs6SZNBIQ/видео.html

@@paulwilsongolf Wow! You’d be a first of all these online instructors! They seem more concerned about acquiring followers then helping people actually get better! Maybe I’ll try asking you a question someday! Thanks for replying!
Looks like you’re referencing tennis elbow in this video. Golfers elbow would be on the inside of the elbow for right hand golfers. The medial side. Are there particular moves in the swing to help this?
Nope, 99% of everyone I have seen with this issue in over 33 years is left elbow. The odd person is right elbow. Regardless, it's cause from hitting hard with the arms. Turn them off and it goes away. Takes time though.
Thanks for your tips Paul! I apply them all to my game. The other day a guy I was golfing with ask, how do you hit so far with such an easy swing? I said I use my body. My instructor is Pual Wilson, look him up on RUclips.
Glad you like them. Thanks. So cool when people take notice of your swing. Thanks so much for spreading the word. I need all the help I can get. This is how you know you are doing it. Keep at it.

But I’ve been working hard trying to use your body swing and every now and again I get it almost perfect, and my drives are now going 20 or 30 m further and my iron play is finally ball then turf for the first time in my life. Using my body has even helped my short pitches which I used to yip. Trying to undo 40 years of muscle memory is difficult but I am determined to stop hitting at the ball and even though I know I still have a long way to go, every now and again I get it just right… consistency is much higher too… 9 of my last 10 rounds have been in the mid to high 70s, but I feel any day now, if I have a good putting day, I could break 70.
Watched your three part instruction video. I immediately felt looseness in my shoulders and wrists and shot 82 after shooting 96 three days earlier!
Very good. That's so exciting when you see results and know you can do it. Keep doing daily practice swings working on positions, movements and drills. This is the fastest way to get it.
@@paulwilsongolf PS; I'm 74.
You're right in my wheelhouse of who I typically teach. You've got this.
Thanks.
So you know all about it. It certainly isn't fun. It's just such a nagging problem. Stick to not hitting with your arms and it will never come back.
You saved my golf life, I was about to quit b4 I barely started ty!
So glad you found me and so glad you are doing well. No need to quit. I've got you.
Thanks for sharing another great drill Paul.
Glad you liked it.
I got the pain last weekend...dont want to miss my weekend rounds so will try these adjustments
Yes, you better get on this asap.
@@paulwilsongolf Will do sir...playing Anaheim Hills on Sunday and will get their extra early to practice these techniques. Thank you
Awesome video again!
HINGE/TURN
ruclips.net/video/BZD0_jPL8ks/видео.html
HINGE/TURN.
@@paulwilsongolf Ahh. Thank you. I didn’t get that. It makes sense now. I’ll work on that. Thank you for your patience.
Do this but early: ruclips.net/video/Xk7t9yHCO-I/видео.html

Remember to roll it from the top to get it hooking. Forget direction. You only care about the spin.

@@paulwilsongolf Thank you Paul, i'll check these out!
So glad you are working on it and seeing results. You know you can do it and are on your way. Please keep at it. Try to do daily practice swings too.
Hi Paul, I’d like to purchase your book and video. How can I purchase them? Thanks!
Thanks for your interest in my products. You can pick them up here: www.paulwilsongolf.com/site/the-body-swing I truly appreciate the support.
What and practice this one:

Great tip. What is your grip pressure and will the face automatically hit the ball square?

I think your new name should be Paul Wilson Golf Medium, because every time I need something you have the perfect video for it like you’re reading my mind💯💯💯🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️
For sure. It is funny how I get in synch with some people. Literally as they were thinking about it I post a tip on it.
Sounds great, but for a seated golfer who can't use the legs and hips we have to use the arms and wrists if we want to play.
Watch:
ruclips.net/video/O9jr3G1FF6M/видео.html
In this video I am turning more but you will see how much power I can generate doing nothing and keeping my wrists loose.

Thank you for your interest in lessons but I am off until October. Next time.
Paul. Can you relate this to pitching, sand and chipping?
Yes, all 3 of those would have your lead arm straight at impact. With chipping I wouldn't be extending it out in the through swing. Chipping is like putting. It's a stroke.ruclips.net/video/MK9MyN3mdt8/видео.html
Thanks Paul
Paul, when I totally relax my arms and let them stretch out, they usually stretch out too soon and I end up hitting the ground behind the ball. If I try to keep my right elbow tucked inside so it doesn't stretch out too soon, then my arms turn on and tense up. How do I keep my arms totally relaxed, but not stretch out too soon without turning them on?
This would be you not firing your body. You need to fire the lower body then allow the arms to stretch out. The don't both stretch out until after impact. Watch:

I literally spend all day answering questions. I have answered tens of thousands of them. Just read the comments below any tip. I am off for the summer so I am constantly checking YT for questions.
Keep at it.
My left elbow doesn’t bother me, it’s my right elbow (and, btw, I’m a right handed golfer). They always talk about the lead elbow. I need a video on the right arm elbow.
Doesn't matter what arm you are hitting with your arms. Need to stop. Follow the tip otherwise you will never get rid of it.

I only get golfers elbow from hitting 3-6 inches behind the ball and chunking it 30% of the time lol

I started taking golf seriously about a month ago. After my first trips to the range my right elbow and back was in terrible pain. I never felt pain in my elbow like that before and I've played tennis for years. My friends said "it's just your muscle fibers getting used to the swing everyone goes through that." I discovered this RUclips channel and hit about 250 balls today, no pain at all. I also hit the ball better. I'm still working on my "belt buckle" turn, club head speed and balance but I'll get it. Paul, I will never be a scratch golfer , but at age 72 I can shoot in the mid- high 70’s on a good day and low -mid 80’s on a bad one. The more frequent good days I have are because of your Body Swing program I purchased in 2018. It has allowed me to still play well after back surgery and a left knee that will soon need replacing. And most importantly the principles of the Body Swing when properly applied make me TRUST MY SWING, so I don’t have to obsess about the results when standing over a shot. This is why we see pros pull off miraculous shots in high pressure situations - they trust their swing. I will never be that good , however your BodySwing program has allowed me to be the best I can be. Thank you.

Hi Paul, you have changed my life. I had tennis elbow in my right arm for years and played through the pain but finally decided a needed a swing that was going to be easier on my body. I assumed that meant poorer weaker golf. And I found your channel. I play off five, and I’ve always been a reasonable driver though a pretty ordinary iron player. I feel I am that close. Thank you so much, apart from playing better golf, I am also now pain free, Matt, Melbourne, Australia (by the way I’m 58, just sad I didn’t discover this in 1999 when you did!) I got married in Las Vegas in 2006… next time I come, you’ll be the first person I’ll visit.
