    Okey, I need you to listen to me right now. I have maybe seen about 40 000 videos here to upgrade my golf swing, I have played for 2 years, 15 hcp. Non of them have helped me, NON. I usually come over the top and I could understand why. I went to coaches but nothing helped. But this one, this Video has changed everything. I went to the range today thinking about what you said about using your legs rotation. I have a lot of rotation in the backswing but nothing before impact. Every shot i made was completely pure and the distance was crazy!! and now its winter in sweden but it doesnt matter. So thankful, so so thankful!

    Wow, this worked for me within 1 bucket. Your videos are rebuilding my swing from the ground up. I was taught to keep my head over the ball at all times during the backswing, and that just wasnt working for me. It left me with a slice that would end up 20 yards right of where i was aiming. Now with this technique, I am hitting straighter shots. Thanks Paul

    I have been working through your Bodyswing method and discovering a lot about how the hands and arms have hurt my swing over the years. I have found that with a good shoulder coil and my arms and hands turned off the above tilt you mention seems to happen without thinking. It is so different to the rushed downswing feel I have when my arms are dominating. The particular drill where you swing to the top and hit the 7 iron 80-100 yards has been the biggest eye opener for me.
    I think the challenge for most golfers that started as adults (me included) is that turning off the arms is probably one of the hardest things to be able to master. Trusting your shoulders to create the backswing with your arms along for the ride as passengers is probably the single hardest concept to grasp but is basically the key to true distance and accuracy.
    Anyway congrats on your fantastic Bodyswing method which to me is the very best method out there. This is from someone who has tried them all.

      @paulwilsongolf  4 года назад +1

      Thank you for your support and kind words. I truly appreciate it. Yes, that is a great drill. It totally takes your arms out but you need to keep doing it until you get used to it.

      Yes. I can't believe how this method works. The pros are gifted physically and with hand eye coordination and flexibility. Those of us less gifted and/or older would enjoy golf far more using this method! Zen golf is also complimentary with this system.

    • @shanedeel2
      @shanedeel2 3 года назад

      It is hard because swinging without arms goes so much less in yardage but it’s much better contact. It’s hard to loose 30 yards on each club but I need to tell myself to do it anyway.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  3 года назад

      You may do that at first until you switch to using the legs and hips as the power source. You are not good at it. So keep working on it until you are feeling the legs and hips. I fly it consistently 280-285 which is plenty. Do this drill daily for a month or more: ruclips.net/video/x1NehGi8tyI/видео.html plus keep building the swing and making it great. You've come a long way since wanting to quit so lets make it even better.

    Omg thank you thank you. This is the video I needed 15 years ago. I never knew why I was hitting the ball so bad. I am the over the top puller. I never new that the head needed to be behind the ball on the downswing. I took your advice an went to the range and hit 2 buckets. Did what you said and omg the difference was amazing. The ball jumped off of my clubs. It seemed to give me lag and my finish looked amazing and my confidence has never been higher. So from 1 Paul to another thank you. For yeeeeears I was told I hit from the top. Had no idea what that was. Always hit slices. But with your help and a video I shot of my swing, I saw immediately what coming over the top was. My entire shoulder and right arm start the down swing. Keeping a head tilt back and starting swing with my lower body has literally been a swing changer. My challenge is keeping my arms relaxed. Thank you so much for your insight and wisdom Paul. For whatever reason, your ability to speak about the golf swing makes sense to my brain. Who wants to buy my golf lag club 😂

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 года назад

      Yeah hitting from the top will never work. The great majority of people are doing that and guess what? The great majority swing over the top. See the correlation? I am not hitting anything. I fire the lower which gets the tilt between the axis and flattens the plane (simple physics). Glad you are on track now and will never try to hit from the top ever again.

      Been there. I went through exactly this. First 2 years trying to get it back I hit 1,000 balls per day, every day for 2 years hitting it sideways. Then 8 more years working positions. I only got it once I turned me arms off completely. Stay focused. Whatever you think you've done I have done 100 times more. So follow exactly what I say and show. Do daily practice swings. Every swing counts now. You've got this.

    i ended up buying his driver swing lesson and i can't recommend it enough. I was so focused on hitting the ball and taking a divot, coming over the top that I ended up getting stress fractures on my ribs on my right side. This swing has completely changed my golf swing. I went from a 22 handicap to a 15. Cant recommend his method enough. I payed 10$ (CAD) at the time and it was worth every penny. His youtube lessons are fantastic but there's little tips in his payed lesson that make it that much easier. Treat yourself and buy the complete lesson to make it that much easier to get this swing down quick. Thanks Paul!

    4:23 - Manual Tilt! Last year I began this exact transformation, and I had to do it 2 phases. First, I had to purposefully introduce and over-exaggerate trail-side lateral bend (tilt), but I lacked even the slightest hint of good hip rotation. So I had good tilt, with the dreaded early hip extension. I spent months working on hip rotation, but only ever got about 15 degrees open on my best swings. Then one day Paul, the mad scientist golf pro instructor guru, tells me, "You got to push that lead knee straight back, not towards the target." And bang, a sense rotation was born, like it fell from the sky! So I had good tilt, better rotation, but my arms were not sync'd well with all that. So I spent 3 weeks working on it and I'll know if any good came from it on my next range session video. Hopefully this week.

    For the average golfer like myself it's that synchronisation of staying behind the ball & transferring the weight to the front foot that needs the work. I played with a group of guy recently who all sent it over the top and they literally would aim for the trees (left side) with the hope of the face opening and slicing it back into the fairway. Even the PW would "cut" slice back into the greens. It was wild and it was all 3 of them.... I'll be honest with you I don't think any of them drove it farther than 200 yards and they were in their 30s, I am in my mid 40s. -- Apologies Paul, but I forgot to mention I noticed that a lot of them set up with super open shoulders and I think that compounded their issues more.
    I'm so glad to have stuck with the body swing and I am able to smack irons with relaxed arms and a moderate body/hip turn. Even just moving my hips 50% or what I perceive as 50% ( I am still new to this technique) I am able to carry 165 - 170 with my 7 with a high ball flight and hold greens. When I was arm's hitting Paul I grooved a moderately consistently swing and could play to a 85 scoring level from 6400 but that was when I was playing my best. But my ball flight was soooo low, anything after an 8 iron would skip off the Bermuda greens. Now I am launching it MUCH higher and holding greens.
    I haven't quite gotten back there yet as in scoring, but I rarely practice my short game (never) and hit the ranges maybe 2 times a month, but I am consistent with your drills and that helps out a lot. Being in Florida I play year round and each time I have gone out there I have gotten better since staying with the body swing. This is with me going through an iron fitting as well to graphite shafts.
    One last note, my Stokes gain on my irons (per shot scope) vs 10 handicap has increased by 3 strokes in the last 5 or so rounds. It makes a HUGE difference.

    His tip about staying behind the ball and what that actually means was eye opening. I played in an outing a couple days and while not hitting everything perfect, I hit some shots that I haven't hit in 20 years because I was not staying behind the ball. I could not slice when I did it properly. I actually didn't embarrass myself playing with 3 strangers. I think I am going to adopt Paul's swing method. A friend pointed out a good way to shallow the club and hit from the inside is to think and feel like the arms are low to the ground in the downswing. I tried this and found it helps tilt the upper body and power the lower body.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 года назад

      Seems like this would be okay. I keep telling people you can't hit the ground behind the ball unless you are attacking from the inside. If you were over the top you would hit the ground ahead of the ball. I know you are not trying to hit the ground but essentially that is what you are doing by feeling low hands. If it works for you keep doing it.

Did not realise how important to let our head move a bit as we backswing, and let it stay there as we downswing, hence automatically creating shallowing of the club and the tilting of our head behind the ball, then magically our head will turn to the target automatically as the club force pull our body forward after the ball is hit. Effortless..! Thanks again, Coach!!!

I can't tell you how badly it bugs me to see people half my size hitting it 300 yards and I'm skying the heck out of my balls 3 miles into the air and landing at only 200 yards. My iron game is money and my driver game stinks. Your loose wrist hinge philosophy, coupled with your awesome techniques are going to enable me to become a dominant ball striker. • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  4 года назад +1

      Yes, you need to get the driver going. Problem is people want to kill it. This tightens the wrists. So as much as you want to kill it give up all control. ALL control. This will feel weird at first but in no time you will see amazing shots because they less you use your arms the more you use your body. Skying driver is the head getting ahead of the ball in the downswing so you sure are using your arms. Keep your head behind the ball in the downswing and you will never sky it. I still remember the last ball I ever skyed.

    My golf buddies just told me the other day that I need to work on this. I'm shooting around 80 from the tips (about 7,100 yds) at the course I belong to and I'm just 1 or 2 really bad shots away from shooting in the low 70s but I can't get away from the huge miss due to my over the top swing (also get accused of swinging similar to Furyk). I'm going to work on this as much as I can. Never had a lesson but I'm coachable...lol.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 года назад

      You are doing well for no lessons. Where are the bad shots going. This will determine what you need to do to fix them. Having a Furyk swing isn't a bad thing as he is one of the most consistent golfers of all time plus as he takes it way outside he drops it inside coming down which allows it to be on the inside out path. If you do have a Furyk move then make sure you are looping it from outside to in to get the path. Also, following this tip will do the trick too. Keep in mind too that if you have a unique swing and start to make changes your 80 could easily turn into 90 as the new swing will feel totally different. Make subtle changes. You change the whole think right now and it could be trouble.

    • @aaronpoynter1144

      @@paulwilsongolf the bad shots are mostly pull hooks but can occasionally be a huge high slice.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 года назад

      The pull hooks are you starting it down with your arms. There is no slice spin though so you are releasing the club. If your wrists were locked you would be pull slicing it. So you have half right on those shots. You need to start your lower body first to straighten out the pull hook. The slice is you hitting so hard you are coming out of the shot. This locks your wrists and you get the slice spin. So if you see that shot slow down. Feel loose wrists before hitting your next shot.

    Paul! Come back to Kingston for a week please!!! Great video man. Maybe I will hit a fairway this weekend. Hard to believe it's been 25 years since played Cat.

      Thanks. Probably not going to get that way anytime soon. Was it 25 years ago. Wow. Now that's crazy.

    Hi Paul
    Love your instruction. I have changed my golf swing by watching your videos. I have been an arm swinger all my golfing life. It is very difficult to know what to do with your arms on the downswing . Cannot seem to stiop bringing them into the hitting area. Please assist.
    Many thanka

      You are doing nothing with your arms. In the downswing they are powerless. You need to watch more of my tips. Work on the arms as a unit. You do the neutral grip. The wrists hinge and reghinge. A hinge is loose. You then connect this arm unit to your body which coils and uncoils. That is the most simple image you need to have. ruclips.net/video/fuOJxv_22Hk/видео.html go against human nature.

    First class presentation Paul! Thanks for sharing! One question if i may please. Today i tried to get right knee kicking in but struggled to do this.
    Having now seen this video i wonder if my not staying behind the ball longer means it is more difficult to push off the right foot/kick in with the right knee or am i just not getting it ?

      You need to stay behind it as you fire the lower. If not, you will come over the top so you need to keep working on this. Give it more than one try. Anytime I change anything I think 1 month until I can groove it. Just look at the back of the ball as you fire the lower and hit the shot. If so, it will keep you behind it without thinking about it. This is one of the ways I got it years ago.

    Lmao...it’s funny that every bad scenario you described was me!!! Very good explanation of exactly what it is you’re doing in the swing. I’ve taken lessons and my instructor didn’t get as in depth as your videos....and the sad part is that this video is free.

      Glad you enjoyed it! I just say things in a certain way. I need it to make sense. Glad you got more out of it. Now it's up to you to do it.

    This tip has helped me from topping my drives. Do you keep your head behind with 3 and 5 woods as well.

      You keep your head behind with all clubs but the harder you drive the lover the more your body tilts. So a wedge would be way less than driver.
