@Cletus Mcbetus I can agree on that score bought an Xbox and an Xbox 360 both Halo editons because I like green but honestly don't care much for Halo would definitely prefer plain green like the jungle green n64s perfect. Xbox one camo is pretty good too doesn't advertise cod ww2 which was the bundle with the game, I gave game too my nephew because pvp doesn't interest me.
@Cletus Mcbetus I get exactly what you mean and agree I'm the same way 40 years old and prefer solid color consoles and accessories without any kind of branding whatsoever.
I would even argue, that other than the lacking spider emblem, it looks better than the ps4pro spiderman edition.
You know they could have included Mario in the Mario edition a little more..
Exactly, the only thing that makes it "Mario Edition" are the colors, they should've included the game with it.

@@mobubbler in my opinion the Joycon grip looks horrible they should have used black, and put designs of mario blocks or something. Like how the animal crossing switch has stuff on the back

Odyssey even comes with a pro controller they couldn’t throw it in the Mario switch

Watching this, I now realize that all they did with this was just color swap, like that’s it. The AC:NH switch variant was done so much better in my opinion
The AC NH was a pallet swap to me pretty much too lol. Nintendo is really lazy since they know people will buy it
Yeah the New Horizons limited edition was fantastic looking, a proper limited edition in my opinion
When I got the AC:NH edition it looked waaay better irl, then it did in any video. I’ll guess the same is with the Mario edition.

This is the first time in my life I was able to buy something before price scalpers bought them first. My Mario switch is my first Nintendo system and I’m scared to touch it because it’s so pretty. I have it charging and I signed up for Nintendo account. I might get the pro controller or the aftermarket one you recommended. For $299 it’s a great deal, screen protector I put on and at least it comes with a case.
I know what you mean mines still in the box and I’m just wondering if I should leave it there’s as I have a perfectly running switch already.... decisions decisions
I ordered one too but I will be opening it as it is my first and only switch. I figure I'll just wait on a PS5 until there is a large selection of games and the console is easily attainable

The black stand looked really bad in the photo, but seeing it with the full system, it didn't look that bad
I love the way it looks, I love having a red dock in my set up. Black is getting boring

They should have done 2 models with colors inverted on each of them.

I do think of all the current versions of switch this one will probably be the one that holds up the best as far as price even as we get new iterations and stuff. Unless of course we get a green and gold Zelda one that would be incredible.

Finally a special edition I can get excited about. If I’m going to spend $300 bucks on a new switch, I don’t want tacky designs/etchings with a lot of branding. I want this.
Its weird.. These Mario system's are in-stock everywhere.. I couldn't believe how many Best Buy still had. I just think that there aren't many people jumping on this.

Picked mine up yesterday it’s beautiful, they should have definitely added more blue contrast like on the kickstand & buttons & maybe added some Mario decals but its still nice. For the $299 price tag I’d pick another one up before the regular switch.

Just got this edition today and I love it, the only thing really I wish was the kickstand was blue, think it would have been a nice touch on the backside.
Just two things. 1) The kickstand could have either been red or blue 2) Can we get a Luigi green version? (Or maybe they're saving green for a zelda anniversary edition)

Well apparently nintendo execs are able to sleep well at night knowing the kickstand on mario edition switch is neither red nor blue BUT BLACK.

A fully red shell is easy. They use injection molding so all they have to do is insert a different color plastic.

It looks more like a spiderman themed console than mario to me, I love red consoles/phones, but this one really hasn't impressed me. Sticking with my animal crossing switch for now, though it's fan gets quite loud.
Weird I didn't think they really changed the internals much. I use a usb fan when docked and it helps tremendously. My switch stays very cool with all games.
yeah my AC switch is very quite, the fan doesnt even make noise like my old v1 lol

This is actually a Spiderman switch
Got mine yesterday, upgraded the system and it doesn't recognize SD with more than 64gb (they work fine in my old switch), I don't know what to do, I guess time for warranty already
What I would've done.
1. Change the red to be the same as the Odyssey joycon. And make the blue deeper
2. Have red joycon with a blue back.
3. Have white joysticks like on the Switch Lite, and make the buttons gold.
4. Have the Mario M on the back of the Switch and the front of the dock.
The yellow mimics Mario's overall buttons.
They should’ve made the joy cons blue, too much red.

Yup I own it. So it basically is red while odysseys joycon are darker red and the regular is neon

It's a bummer that the only difference between a normal Switch and this is it's color scheme. I wanted to buy one but after seeing it I decided to go for Pokemon lets go edition instead

This is disappointing honestly. It's just like another different coloured switch like the blue/yellow/black switch lites. This doesn't feel like a special edition
