@@Mr.xDLel124 Because it's overused. It can be a cool effect, don't get me wrong. But when it's used to compensate for a lack of vocal talent, something is lost. When used subtly, or even artfully in a less subtle way, it's an amazing tool. In the hands of a lazy producer, it's a crutch.
It's like I say.... Yeah sure, I can get that perfect take.... But do I really feel like spending 5 fucking hours recording a vocal track? Um..... Nope! I'm a decent singer but sometimes your voice just isn't in top shape and the time and the takes and the over and over and over....
Bro I really wan to tell you thank you so much for teaching this for free. I got to Los Angles Film School for Music Production and the course I’m currently in has us using the same auto tune plug in and they didn’t teach us anything about it. You gave me the knowledge I should have gotten from my professor wich I pay for for free.
Thank you! Was looking for a video that showed exactly how to change the audio to midi. It’s just like Melodyne in that sense where you have to track the vocals in the software itself. Great stuff.
Appreciate this tutorial, not too long just the right info. Very interested now to add this to my tools. More power and keep doing these videos. You have me as a subscriber. Great job!
When I use AutoTune 99% wouldn't even notice it's in use. Just because some people enjoy setting the retune speed at 0 doesn't mean we all do! I usually keep my retune speed between 10-15. I'm a decent enough singer where AutoTune doesn't even have to work that hard. She lays back and allows me to lay pipe. Every now and then she adjusts the pipe and I'm happy with it!
Thank you for the video. Great explanation. My voice is okay but I’m off on a few spots in my songs so I can’t wait to try this. Saw a lot of positive feedback in the comments.
How do you actually apply the changes permanently, i.e. make a change in graph, then actually save it? I save the changes to XML but as soon as you come out of the plugin, it reverts back.
Would love to know too, and the same thing with Melodyne if anyone knows? Bouncing in place is so tiring, is there a way in the plug-ins themselves to permanently apply the changes?
Thank you so much for tutorial. I d like to know if i can work on a single Note, editing the pitch at centesimal (not tone-by-tone) and work on vibrato, something as Melodyne can do. i cannot explain it so good, if you know what i mean..thank you!
I never understood the difference between bypass and remove in the advanced section. Also I wish you could see what note you’re on as the audio plays (like in AutoTune EFX, but it’s not in pro for some reason?). Good video though thanks!
Thank you so much for this video. Great deep dive. One question, so when using the graph mode, after you track the performance and made all you edits do you export the now new performance onto a new track inside your DAW?
Hey, Shawn! Great question. You’re really going to have the choice of whether you want to export to a new track or not. If you want to A/B the pitch correction you did in graph mode, you are able to just turn the plug-in on and off on whatever track you’re processing. But, if you’d prefer to print that out onto a brand-new track, you do have that option as well. It’s whatever works best in your workflow! I hope this helps! Can you also tweak with the time of notes? On the 'compare versions' Site of Antares the pro x Version cant do it, only the Producer Version. Hope you can Help me. Ty

Hey there! Great question. While there are some different workarounds to use Auto-Tune without a digital audio workstation (DAW/other program), these processes can become a bit convoluted. Really, running the software inside a DAW is the easiest and most straight forward way to run the software. As for which DAW to use with Auto-Tune, that’s a really difficult question to answer without knowing what you’re going to be using the software for. Feel free to reach out and we’d be happy to go over the different options we offer and see what would work best for your application. Thanks! Nick Pasquino, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 3230, nick_pasquino@sweetwater.com
I was wondering if it is possible to make maybe presets with autotune with reverb and other effects as well? A while ago I did a recording session with someone from my past work and he had some setups from the son of the owner of the company, and he had like a frank sinatra preset, a post malone preset and a chris brown preset.
You would create a mixing preset called whatever you want to call it. Let say you create your new session for an artist called KAREN. In this session you have your reverb, eq, auto tune etc… you decided to that it was a good session and you wanna save the settings. In this case what You would do is save it as a template (which you can bring up in your DAW) and enjoy it every time you have to record KAREN again. Obviously every session varies so make sure you adjust your parameters as you go x
Great question! Melodyne's pitch editing screen is pretty similar to graph mode so while Melodyne and Autotune both have some unique features, you wouldn't need Autotune specifically for the graph mode that it has. Autotune's ability to process in real time and give you classic autotune effects quickly are what you should consider if you already have Melodyne. Do you need to export the vocal after wards since you kind of record it into auto tune. Or if it's applied to the track it's just making those adjustments on the original track?
Hi, thanks for your interest! That's a great question. After you've adjusted the parameters in the Auto-Tune plug-in to your liking and gotten a take that you're happy with, you would want to export it as an audio file with the processing applied. Some DAWs will also allow you to "freeze" the track, essentially rendering it as an audio file while also giving you the option to go back and make further edits if you want to. Hope this helps, and feel free to contact me directly with any further questions! Caleb Lowrey, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1620, caleb_lowrey@sweetwater.com

It might be possible but since this program is a VST, which won't work standalone I believe, you need to have a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) Even if you can run it standalone, it doesn't change the fact that you need to do a lot of complicated tweaks to get that working, and I don't think that's worth it.
