Honestly I wasn’t a fan of RR at Top Gear but the RR in AutoTrader is amazing and he better not go anywhere as he got me to subscribe to this channel 😌
I think a lot of other people think that way too.
I bet presenters just love hearing people say 'mate you're an acquired taste but you wore me down in the end'.
And so what if he left? Why isn't everyone encouraging him to start his own channel?

She’s great, but like many others, I tune in for a Rory Reid presentation. Hope this isn’t a gimmick for him moving on 🤨
I just assumed that the channel was getting traction with the car companies, and they were bombarding him with more cars than he can handle. As Rory is just one man, what a man, but still only one man, adding an extra experienced presenter allows them more videos without breaking Rory into pieces.
Smart move adding a presenter. We can’t rely on Rory’s old Bentley getting him to work, can we? :)

I don't know if you want detailed feedback on this new format or not but....
I liked her, good energy, good presentation style. Not yet jaded to lower spec cars from years of hyper performance vehicles etc. Overall I'd be happy with Alex as a new presenter ☺️ however, it did feel like the content was a bit dumbed down to what Rory's videos are, maybe more aimed at buyers who don't have a lot of auto knowledge? Eg the description of the wheels and brakes were very simplistic, Rory would normally state the tyre size and profile and the diameter of brakes etc etc. if you're planning to use Alex as for lower tier car marketing style videos, it'll work I reckon. But I assume most of us watch the performance car type videos WANTING to know the small details. And the lack of any specifics other than 'its good and it's fast' wouldn't cut it for me in future videos to be honest.

Alexandra did a great review on this Porsche Macan GTS. With that said, I hope Rory is not going anywhere. His reviews are one of the main reasons why I subscribed to Auto Trader in the first place.

Autotrader, I think you missed a trick here. Why is Rory so popular? Because he's different. He's Black, eloquent without being posh, and he has swag - style with a common touch. Alexander is posh, highly polished and comes over very much as a professional journalist.
Absolutely nothing wrong with all that but why not take chance with a female Rory? Someone not posh, possibly even from an ethnic minority and with an individual style? Risky? Nah, not really. Look at how popular going against the grain with has worked out.
All the best of luck with Alex but you're giving us something we already have in abundance on other shows/channels. Vicky Butler Henderson gave us what your new presenter does more than a decade ago
She's great! Must've been exhausting for Rory to do all the reviews by himself. Glad we'll have more quality content and variety going forward!
I like how Rory's treating her. Their chemistry and her enthusiasm make it easier to embrace the fact that it's not just Rory anymore. She seems competent.
I’m happy to see the channel grow as long as Rory isn’t going anywhere. He is the reason I subscribed and don’t watch Top Gear much anymore.
Good job Alexander too, I think you add that diversity that will add more value to an already great channel.

I love how Rori ended the review in the first 10 seconds and the target market for this car continued with it😅
I really like how these two presenters work together and compliment one another. Its a winning combination. Among other things, Alexandra brings a perspective can attract women to the channel. She also presents in a language that men appreciate.
Rory? He is in rare company. Among other things, he knows he has a broad audience. Not all have the means to purchase a McLaren or Bentley. There are those who simply want an electric SUV that is suitable for young family. These souls may want their daily to be a Lotus, but they most consider things like space for baby car seat and stroller. What does Rory do? He reviews both.

My wife is strongly of the view that what attracts women to the channel is Rory. I think she cheapens him by viewing him purely as an object of desire.
Anyway, as long as Rory is not going anywhere - I think he's an excellent presenter - I think Alexandra is a welcome addition. This was a very good first review.

If Rory goes, I’ll never watch another Autotrader video, this one was terrible, Rory is a natural reviewer of cars, watching this video and then a proper Rory one shows it.
Ordered one,after a year still no sign of a build slot let alone a car....so good luck to anybody that wants one.

She still has to find her own voice, and of course Rory clearly has found his ages ago. Besides he is the best reviewer at the moment, wouldnt trade him in for her, like so many I dial in for RR. But I do hope she will find her voice because that will make it so much more fun and valuable for all of us. As long as it isn't meant as a run up to RR leaving. Just to be sure I liked his comment to get it closer to the 1000 upvotes!

After watching and reading reviews all I can say is the internet never disappoints. Something people fail to realise is that Rome wasn't built in a day. Rory is good at presenting 'cos he's been at it for a long time. As far as I'm concerned Alex did a wonderful job and will get better with time.
Reminds me of when Doug reviewed a car for the second time cos he felt the first time (which was years ago) he wasn't as thorough.
People get better with time as long as they stick to it.

I believe the strongest competitor for the GTS is its less powerful sibling the Macan S. It is basically as fast as you need with the same engine only slightly detuned. And quite a bit cheaper too

@@davidberg3154 Yeah, we have a Gen II GTS at home haha… but if you are value conscious… the Gen III S uses the same engine as the Gen II GTS… but w a milder exhaust yes

I feel warped back in time to good reviews, courtesy of this lady. Rory is the evolution the evolved. Like KFC he has his own secret recipe and is a source of uniqueness that’s refreshing entertaining informative captivating. So what’s his secret? It’s difficult to say but I think scientists would say. “It’s written in his DNA”. It wouldn’t be surprising his first sound at birth was “ca ca a Car”.
His enthusiasm is infectious, what he brings to the table precious, his contribution to Automotive reviewing, immeasurably humongous.

I've been watching Rory since his days way back when on the CNET UK podcast and his enthusiasm was boundless even then and that was talking about technology rather than cars.

Macan's are great, but the rear end on the 2nd gen's compared to the 1st gen's no comparison, the first gen has such a nice rear end.
These unibrow rear ends are awful. So generic and outdated already.

Same engine and PDK transmission as GTS, barely marginal difference in performance and look!

GTS trim on a SUV is not like _putting 💄 on a 🐷_ it's more _like 🐖 in a track suit_ I like the review and the presenters but I'm really not into SUV's, even when it's a Porsche. Can't wait to see the next video with the same presenters but with a more desirable car like a Maserati MC20 Ciel. Keep up the good work AutoTrader!

Experience is key I suppose, but she will grow on me, no doubt, if shown more. Love her voice..
Ms. Legouix is - according to her own website - “Host, Voice Artist, Psychotherapist, Yoga & Mindfulness Coach…(and not least) TV Presenter”. What she is NOT is what Clarkson and May are: motoring journalists who write…and think….and write…then talk.
Of course, after the very unsuccessful TG they moved onto a string of other failures.
Quiz Show hosts (primarily) and ex-cricketers and mindfulness coaches now abound. That’s why Top Gear and the rest is so better than before.
Who needs people who are real writers when anyone can rock up with a set of good teeth and pre-rehearsed banter. Right ?

Cuz firstly the difference is noticeable in terms of performance and ofc the price is different, also the colour is python green even the seat belt colour is. Great review btw.

When you want to do something dirty cheap use capacitive buttons and say they're futuristic.
Nothing quite like the feedback from a mechanical switch. Capacitive switches are utter shite
One of the best intros to a car review I've seen, great sense of humour guys. Keep up the great work!
I really love how the macan drives. But, the tech is not great. The back up camera is poor, the lane keep assist doesn’t pull the vehicle back into lane, doesn’t center the vehicle. I get that it’s about the drive, but at that price point you would except it to be competitive with current tech. You don’t even get ambient lights or a head up display.
RUclips is strongly geared towards channels never changing, so naturally people are gonna have strong opinions, but the future of this channel is looking pretty bright regardless of who stays or goes.
Alex & Rory are the best couple. I like to see both of them. But as reviewers Rory is unbeatable. Hopefully both are husband and wife.
LOVE the Macan!! If I wasn't a sports car guy (718 PDK GT4), I would be in a Macan GTS. If only I could have both.

Its fast because Macan GTS have RS4 engine.
V6 2.9 liter twin-turbo, the car sounds even the same as RS4.
She is not bad... but Rory is so much more charming.
I am sure on this new presenter. The reason , I kept watching auto trader is because of Rory. I tried to watch and got tuned out of what she is saying and started writing this.
What’s this then? A British automotive reviewer who actually pronounces Porsche as ‘Por-sha’ rather than Porsch??? Well well, wonders will never cease.
Rory makes us feel that all new cars have been delivered from another planet and has that surprise element and WOW factor. No one can replace him for sure. Will be back when Rory is back.
Best car I ever owned, specially during the winter. It is super smooth and preditcal even if compared to my previous, STI, X3M40, 340i XDRIVE.
