Back in the mid 90s when NASCAR was awesome, country music was great, videos on CMT were something to get excited about, our nation was stronger, life was good. I'd go back in a heartbeat

Catchy words & lyrics
My husband, John, passed last Tuesday. I'm listening to his Playlist. Ha! For the longest time he thought the lyrics were, "dust on the Bible!" Makes me laugh when, all I want to do is cry!!! 😂
Omg...lady I thought it was "dust on the Bible too!"....my brother made fun of me.lost my love of my life in 1988. 13 years of beautiful taken away in a horrible wreck.
Thank God every day that i had him
So sorry for your loss, ma’am. RIP to your husband! Godbless you
That’s the way I sing it. There must be a little dust on the Bible, but it gets sweeter in time, even though I know it says bottle.
I just wanna give ya an 'air hug'
John had great taste, bless his soul.
I feel the same, lost someone very special on Mothers Day 2000 to a horrible wreck as well & this was one of our favorite tunes. I am blessed for the time we did have, I'm just selfish & wish we had one more day.
You take care,
The thing about David Lee Murphy is that he’s known for this song, but he has a lot more songs that are just as good, if not better.
YES 😍
I had this album... And I don't think there was a bad song on the whole thing!!
Miss him and all of the GREAT, TRUE COUNTRY artists, from this period in time❣️❣️

There's plenty of great country artists out there today. You just won't hear them on the radio. Check out Cody Jinks, Tyler Childers or Sturgil Simpson. There's so much more than them too, but that's a good starting point.

+Brandon Van i hear ya bro im only 23 and even i know this new crap is trash
I know what you mean but some of it sounds good ... Just search Crash and Burn ( Thomas Rhett ) and Kick up the dust ( Luke Bryan ) those are some pretty good "pop" Country song
+Brandon Van That's because country music back then used to talk about the human experience, good times, people living a good life, or bad times, how people deal with that. Country music nowadays talks about hot chicks, drinking, and partying. Like every other type of music, a lot of the generic stuff is just appealing to the most base desires of people. Not that it's totally like that, there are still some people like Zac Brown Band or Brad Paisley who are much more like more classical country music, but that seems fewer and further between nowadays.
Pretty sure I’m the only Korean knowing and still listening to this song alone in South Korea especially in this 2019. Can’t stop loving this classic country number. Respect!
Much respect

In 1996 riding down a dirt road in south east Alabama I was 17 she was 19 and I knocked the dust out of her and we’re still together now it’s 06/23/2023 this song was on the radio will never forget that day
When I was little I thought he was saying A little dust on the Bible. Regardless, it still makes sense.
Same here.
The song 'Bad Moon on the Rise', I always thought they were saying "there's a bathroom on the right" 😐😂😂
That’s sooo funny, because that’s what I would always say when I’d sing it out loud whenever I heard it....what makes it a lot funnier, (to me anyways), is that I don’t practice a certain religion, but if I did, I always said it’d be Baptist, so it fits even better! 🤣
That is exactly what I thought I was hearing when I listened to the song. Which honestly, fits appropriately too!! A reference to good things inside the bible, but gets "dust" on the bible because people aren't reading it as much as they should be. Glad I wasn't the only one hearing "bible"...lol.

The 90's were great period for pure country music!
Nice job justifying your years dumbass. This was made in 2009
Actually he is correct. This video was posted in 2009 however the song came out in the 90's. In my experience it is always best to double check your facts before slinging insults at others. Besides , 90s were the best time for country music in my opinion.
I do not believe I am a dumbass. Perhaps looks can be deceiving...HAHAHA. LIkewise Queen Alyssia, 90s country music were soulful.
Hey, ...Those cowboy hats they wear dont look like the real thing! Every photo I ever saw of real cowboys had them mostly wearing huge floppy hats pushed up in front from riding in the wind all the time, or they wore one like William S. Hart, who was a real working Texas cowboy before gettin into the movies in around 1911 ! These modern style hats were born in some eastern dudes mind I think!
acerb45666555 Hey there....Cowboy hats back in the day were produced just for the main purpose of protecting cowboys and cowgirls from the sun and weather when they are outside riding or doing outside chores. Modern cowboy hats are more simply just for style just like you stated.
