There's plenty of great country artists out there today. You just won't hear them on the radio. Check out Cody Jinks, Tyler Childers or Sturgil Simpson. There's so much more than them too, but that's a good starting point.

+Brandon Van That's because country music back then used to talk about the human experience, good times, people living a good life, or bad times, how people deal with that. Country music nowadays talks about hot chicks, drinking, and partying. Like every other type of music, a lot of the generic stuff is just appealing to the most base desires of people. Not that it's totally like that, there are still some people like Zac Brown Band or Brad Paisley who are much more like more classical country music, but that seems fewer and further between nowadays.
Pretty sure I’m the only Korean knowing and still listening to this song alone in South Korea especially in this 2019. Can’t stop loving this classic country number. Respect!

Every photo I ever saw of real cowboys had them mostly wearing huge floppy hats pushed up in front from riding in the wind all the time, or they wore one like William S. Those who say country music sucks must have only heard country from about 2000 on. They didn't grow up on the older stuff and probably think a candle is as big as a bonfire. Yes, I'm a country boy.
