IMO 90's country music was the best.
80s and 90s.
IMO ???

@@HouseWashingRick in my opinion is what IMO stands for of that's what you're asking.

something so simple and honest about country music. Small towns, farmhouses, young love. Thanks Trisha, felt my mom's presence listening to you
One doesn't have to grow up country in order to love country music. I'm a suburban town mouse who loves country music and artists. My favorites list includes this, and Lynn Anderson's "Snowbird" :)
@Trisha Yearwood Thank you, Trisha! :)
Black people were the originators of country music

Trisha yearwood thanks for making this song me and my boyfriend love it
Theres a certain indescribale comfort that '90s country music brings
Jgo
Bocephus was 1980'$ and little of 1999'$
this was played at my daughters wedding i loved it soooo great and they are still together loving each other
The 1990s is by far the high point of country music

This is me and my late husband Tommy's song!! He died at 34 in 2014 from a very rare lung disease!! I just played it for our son Tommy Jr for the 1st time.... Still cry everytime I hear it because he used to sing it to me at the top of his lungs!!! R.I.P my love til we meet again!!

Trisha has a cracker of a voice. Perfect for country. She's like Reba, due to the voice she can make anything country

One of the best lines in music period.
Beautiful writing
Yearwood has the pipes to sing real Country music. The nineties was the "golden era" of Country music. It won't happen again. There were just so many great songs and singers it was best period of county music in my lifetime and I am 78.
Hello 👏 how are you doing?
I mean, never say never. There may end up being a "real country" renaissance somewhere down the road. It seems like there's a widespread desire for it.
@@darryl2542 Modern country is too worried about appealing to right wing politics instead of romantic sweet love songs like this
I actually knew a couple in high school, named, Tommy, and Katie. At prom, they were prom king and queen, so as an added bonus the DJ, (me) played this song for them.
That was 12 years ago, and I keep up with them. They're still together, married in fact, and have 2 wonderful children. I wish them many more years together. Cheers my friends.

This used to play at a country-style joint where I used to work. I'd be sweeping the floors at closing, and this song would come on, and I'd just get chills. This song reminds me of that warm feeling you get when you feel truly special or important, like your story means something, and someone would enjoy hearing it. When you're working after hours, and the last of the staff are wrapping up their shifts, and it's just you and a broom and an open floor, things become simpler. You start to enjoy those little sweet moments, and your heart just grows ten sizes, and you feel lighter than air. 💛
It's my humble opinion you should give writing a shot, seems like there is a heart warming tale to tell. You have a gift.
I am not so much a country music fan, but this is one of my very favorite songs! Thank you, Trisha Yearwood!

One of the last songs, in my opinion, before popular country turned into straight up pop music. This was a good era for country music.
Agreed - the late 80s and early 90s was the last of the good country
Michael Miller It really was! We do still have some great artists - Robert Earl, Guy Clark, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Fred Eaglesmith, and on and on - but funny enough, they're all from (or were active during) the same era!! But there is too much mainstream pop music touting itself as country these days.
Country has always reflected the era it's from. Most country songs from the late 1970s and early 1980s sounded more like disco songs to the untrained ear.
Armin Jorgenson Look up I don't dance by lee brice.
he seems true country
i agree, i was born in the early 90's, so i a grew up with the songs that were in circulation in the mid 90's, and early years of the 2000's, and my mind acts like if just found gold nugget, rightfully so i would argue, when i hears songs from that era. though i will also say that johnny cash is pure gold.
My brother died at 27 in 98' after a 4yr battle with cancer. I sure do miss him.😢
Who's still listening in 2025?
😂
@@kayongodavid4033 Thought I'd start early.😂
My first boyfriend used to sing this to me all the time, he would change the line she's inlove with the boy to he's inlove with the boy. He died two years later, I've never forgotten him and I never will.
Last night I had a dream about my first boyfriend ( he was the first one to have my heart and he always will ) he told me in the dream that he's watching over me making sure I'm safe and not getting hurt. I told my mom about it this morning she said it was just a very nice dream. I told her in the dream he called me by his special name for me and when I woke up my bedroom smelled just like him. She and my dad really liked him and it didn't matter to them he was inlove with their son.
This fits our history so well. My husband died two years ago after more than sixty one years...back in the 90's my line dancing group danced to this song, always my favorite. What I wouldn't give to have a few more years with him. Love you, honey!
Are you trying to make us cry? So glad to hear this. You are a great and proper American. Sorry for your loss. You are a great person. S

Country music was fantastic to me. Give me anything from the late 80s to the mid 2000s and I'd probably love to listen to it. It sucks that the genre is selling itself out to pop and rock music these days. I just can't listen to Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Hayes, or even less pop acts like Luke Bryan. Long live the best two decades of country that we're never getting back.
I agree with you 100%!!!
You took the words right out of my mouth. It's all bro-country now, sung by pretty boys who get every girl they want.
The best two decades period lol
I don't mean to be rude in any way Odin Von Togan I am a Christian and I know both of those songs and they are two different views. However the world is changing in good and bad. But that is choices of the world and even in the bible there is anti Christ. It's part of temptation. You need to think about what u want to say because they are a lot of things that are disrespect in your comment. So open your eyes and if you do not like what is going on then you are the only one that can change it. We are all in titled to our own opinions and that's yours. There is also a time and a place so please be respectful to all people and put this is my opinion upon your writings. Oh what I just wrote that's my opinion
Britt M Agreed! I'm a Christian myself but I don't like it when people start pointing at random things and going "that's Satan's work!" Shania is an honest individual with a successful and scandal-free career. Wearing black and eye-liner doesn't make her a demon. God bestows beauty upon us in many different ways and just because we see something different doesn't mean it's sinful.
My in-laws were like this in a way. Mils family was not happy about her love. He was a Cuban college student and she his English tutor. 65 years later they are still married. They celebrated 65 years married this year.

Hello Michael
How are you doing tonight
In Aug 1991 I saw Trisha open for Garth Brooks during Cheyenne Frontier Days (The World's Largest Outdoor Rodeo and "The Daddy of "em All"). On the flyer that was passed out as we were walking to our seats, her name was misspelled - Trisha Yarwood - so at first, I didn't recognize who she was. While she was singing her first or second song, I leaned over to my wife and said: "Wow, she has a great voice. All she needs is one great song and she's going to be a superstar." Before she sang her next song, someone came to the front of the stage and said Trisha's next song just hit Billboard #1 - and then she sang "She's in Love with the Boy". Pretty sure I told my wife - "I told you she's going to be a superstar!"
This was me and my husband 22 years ago...and were still.going strong!!! I love him soo much!!
Hello Tracy.. how are you doing?
Both families never thought we'd last, and it's been 40 fabulous years, LOL! Plus we were a blind date, truth!

How can ANYONE hate on this type of country? It's so relaxing and easy to get lost in
I'm glad I've had time to reflect on the origins of stuff and how it got to be that way. Even if im wrong it's partly right. This is a good one I'd like to hear from somebody someday but not today. Been fun. Later
I don't think this is the country anyone hates. I feel this is more just stuff that isn't someone's preference. It's the really slow old country or the new country pop that I've heard people actually complain about.

Now, I'm the daddy that disapproves.
Female country and western has some of the best voices in popular music, with Trisha, Reba and Martina to name just 3
This was my song w my daughter’s daddy, my first husband who is now w Jesus....
Wow this takes me back.
Oh my heart
@Trisha Yearwood
It has been over 25 years...and will remain a fan for the next 25 +
For many a milestone in my life- large & small, both joyous and heart wrenching, your melodies were there...
I hope you know how much you inspire, how your music helps to heal
And to also help us remember...nothing like a song to take us back, when days were sweeter, or perhaps not (which I need now more than I ever have)
(And cuz...i do not want to leave out his music - ‘She’s Every Woman’ has been my inspiration since I first heard him sing the words...I would dream and pray for a true love to find me...to see me for me, to truly accept all of me and not be afraid to show it. Life had other plans but I am fortunate to have the partner I have now, considering the path my life/health has followed; I wouldn’t think anyone would waste their time...so I do feel lucky that I’m not all alone, even if I AM physically alone 98% of every day. Except for my fur babies! Life could always be worse!)
Take care
I pray your heart is filled w love & laughter for all of your days
Much love, respect, peace & prosperity to you & yours
God speed

Carmona Crafts My Little League Sports was weird Football was by your weight not age. We had to get on a scale before each game. I played in 75, 90, & 120 This was in the 70s.
Didn't grow up in The South, and not a fan of contemporary country, but I gotta admit: this song is pretty amazing.
Late 80's and 90's country is way underrated. I always wondered why SiriusXM had a dedicated 80's/90's country station (Prime Country), now I know why. ;) How does this song not have more views?
+Guy Heller Because everyone alive right now are dumbasses. These songs reflect my environment growing up. City people would die for the simple life if they still made the same money. It's fun!
Jimbo Mitchell
I envy that. You're probably right, though. The country always makes me wish I lived there. There's more in the countryside to relish than anything a city could ever provide. Darn these Brooks Bros. wingtips...
Uii
Guy Heller 25 million views is not a lot?
To anybody reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind may clarity replace confusion. may peace and calmness fill your life

@@memphie6668 Take a deep breath, you should go outside for a walk, and let go of those trivial matters.
I was drawn to this song and see this comment you have no idea how much this hits hard right now but thank you 😢
This is probably one of my favorite 90’s country song
Thanks for your lovely comments, I wouldn’t have gotten this far with out my lovely fans. Have you been to my concert before?
90s childhood all over again.
Everything just seemed so golden back then😪
@Trisha Yearwood yes I would definitely be honored see I am looking to becoming a singer as well I've been singer all my life and I would like to make it big as well
Oh yes of course ms yearwood just remember my name Joshua allen Caines
Country music was 100000 times better is the 80's and 90's. People like Reba, Shania Twain, George Strait, Randy Travis, Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO THEM!
Ikr
ERMears nothing happened to them but what happened to Country Music?!
ERMears they are all retiring or are retired.
Pop is what happened. More money, bigger audiences
@faith holmes yup same
All of us old D.J.'S. WHO have been here since the. 1960's. That's who are here.........
❤
Aweeee 90s country. Miss it today’s country has nothing on it.
Not trying to target anyone, just wanted to put this out there. If your a Christian, and you want to hear some country with meaning, look up Ann Wilson; her songs are awsome!♥
Just wanna go back to the 90s and never come back. I was so much happier
Thanks for your love and support . It's a huge pleasure to know that I have got real fans.
