    I have been to 8 of these spots in Yucatan. Valladolid also has a beautiful plaza where historic churches make up one entire side of the square. There's a leather shop nearby where you can buy some handmade sandals at a bargain. A restaurant near the plaza (south I think) has wonderful POC CHOC--delicious marinated beaten thin slices of pork served with all kinds of great side dishes. Their drinks are COLD--especially the mojitos and margaritas. A sweet lady sits on the ground patting out homemade tortillas. Forgot to say this is all in a very nice garden with plants, lizards, trickling water fountains and nice music. FRESH FOOD! YUM!

    Valladolid is a hidden gem in Yucatan. It definitely is a place that's worth to take to time to explore all of its nooks and crannies, and that's no small task, also because there are so many places around Valladolid that are worth visiting.

    I hear a really great way to travel around all these sites near Valladolid is to rent a moped for 400pesos and drive yourself to both Ek Balam (30mins) and Chizen Itza (45mins) - thanks for the video, planning my trip for later this month!

      Sounds like a great plan! The roads there are in good shape and relatively quiet so can definitely imagine that's a good idea!

      You can easily get around Valladolid on foot or local collectivo / taxi. It's not very expensive to get a taxi.

    did you hire a guide for Chichen Itza when you got there or was it part of a day tour?

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  3 года назад

      We did it as part of a tour. Definitely recommend getting a guide though as it’s very interesting to learn about 😊 there are many guides at the entrance and they always let you wait for some additional people to share the cost!

    Are there colectivos/combis that go out to chichen itza and back to Valladolid? And are there some that go out to ek balm ruins and back?

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  2 года назад

      Not that we found, but we visited during covid so there was less public transport in general. We took a shared taxi with other tourists so we could split the cost. I can imagine there are collectivos though!
