Owner of the LC500 here! Nice to see some of you recognize me. First of all, thank you Sam for inviting me out for an absolutely fun day filled with adrenaline and thrill. This is actually my first time at a drag strip and it was slightly nerve racking at first but the great vibes of the CarLegion team made it all the worthwhile. As most expected, the LC500 was most likely not going to win but honestly, the LC is a car you really don't mind getting gapped in. I had plenty of faster and iconic cars on my potential purchase list but somehow the LC500 won my heart and I couldn't be anymore happier. Personally, I'm not chasing for having the fastest car; what I care about most is owning a unique and rare car, you never see these on the road and the presence is has it surreal. Constant gawking, compliments, head turns, and people screaming how much they love my car is icing on the cake. The interior is amazing, every passenger that has experienced it have also agreed it's something genuinely special and everything is high quality. Personally, never cared about the interior of my cars as I'm more about the exterior until actually seeing the LC. Despite it being extremely heavy; remember it is a luxury GT not a performance first car, the v8 is plenty of power for the streets, in fact it's quite overkill and can get you in trouble in a matter of seconds. The exhaust itself is also exceptional, you can tell they took time into refining it; the high revs and downshifts ALWAYS make me smile and the downshifts alone makes numerous strangers nearby turn their heads because you can just tell from the audibles alone some type of amazing car is nearby. It has a dual personality, it can be a loud beast but also be one of the most comfortable and quiet cruises with decent gas mileage on the highway, city driving will make your wallet cry though. On paper, the LC might not seem that great but I guarantee not many cars can make you feel this emotional. What Lexus has done is create such a controversial and unique car that has an iconic presence in person and across the Internet. Remember, we're all free to our own judgements and opinions but what really matters is how the car makes you feel and getting to actually experience it. Once again, thank you Sam for providing me a wonderful experience! Can't wait to get back on the track, will continue supporting you and your team, all the best to you and your success.

The LC500 is certainly no slouch, but against anything with forced induction its gonna have a hard time with less torque and high weight. The sounds of the these two V8s though made this race awesome.
Yeah the power numbers are fine, it's just the weight , of it weighed as much as the jag it would be faster than the jag, I'm curious how a RC F would do
It is quite a slouch, it barely makes a 13sec 1/4 mile and for a price tag of over $100k, and special versions for $130k with orange interior. it is quite lacking.
@@Abercrombemonkey I agree they’re not good value for how much they cost, and I personally wouldn’t own one. Its the weight and 4x4 in jag what makes diffrent from stand still also like always true power and peak width gearbox shifting time ,torque at crank have very small to do with this 👍🏻actually lexus lfa will beat this jag with much less torque =(354 lb-ft )than lc have 😎 again at couple first metres jag drive away thanks 4x4 but after this lfa start to accelerate better even with more narrow peak because hp advantage is big in this egzample 👌🏻 lfa 50-100 1,7 vs jag 2,5 according to fastest laps 100-200 lfa 7,5 vs jag 10,5 so except 0-40/50 lfa leave jag in the dust with 354 lb-ft against jag 427lb-ft 👍🏻 its also lil lighter 🤫
@@mociczyczki fastest laps is wrong, the Lc500 does not do 100-200 in 7.5. That is similar to a gt500 making 760hp, and faster than hellcats running 700hp. The lc500 runs around 11s 100-200
Richard , the cabriolet is always heavier than the corresponding coupe ... regardless which make ... even a 718 spyder doesn't defy the structural requirements
I love my LC and never intended to race it but got it for the crazy looks and the reliability and luxurious feel. The price point of the LC is incomparable to what you get for it.. Attention and makes me look Sexy everytime I drive it🤣😂🤣🤗🤗🤗.. Love it🖤
I’ve seen the LC 500 in public at least a dozen times. I’ve never seen anyone give a second look or walk up to the owner with questions. I like the interior but the exterior just screams try hard to me.
What timing i found this today. Last night i found myself looking in the rearview mirror to see this new black F Type frantically try and catch me. I just picked up my LC500. The car gets to me and passes me its a two boys who got their dads jag for a spin. I sit back and watch, we get to the next light both up front and i do what the driver on this video did not. Yes you put it in sport + but then you need to put one foot on the brake while preparing the car for launch with an rpm raise. In my case i was trying to be stealth. The light turned and doors were blown. Frankly it shocked me even. I ride motorcycles and having done that id have been hard pressed to keep up if i was not RIGHT on top of the launch in timing. Timing is everything. Id smoke ppl in my Buick Park Ave doing that trick. Try it.
I have a 17 R as well. I had considered a few other cars when I was shopping for mine but kind of settled on the Jag when I got the chance to really get a good up close feel of one. It has an enormous amount of character while still being comfortable enough to drive a reasonable distance in. It gets a load of attention as I'm sure you experience as well. As much as I admire the refinement of the the Lexus I would be more inclined towards the Mercedes AMG GT-S but I'll likely keep the jaguar and simply get a sporty Cayman 718 GTS as a stablemate.
I'm a lexus owner, but I hate that the LFA's v10 isn't used in the LC, LS or even the RS for that matter. It would certainly put them in a league of their own.
Well the Jaguar is 400 pounds lighter, can we really expect a different result. I will still take the Lexus because of rock solid reliability and resale value.👍🏼🔥🔥
Those of you naysayers about Jaguars and reliability, my 2010 XKR, pulleyed and tuned to about 600hp, has 200,000 miles on her and would still take on the Lexus. The 5.0L Jag has been the most reliable car I've ever owned in more than five decades of driving and is still my daily driver and still wonderful. And the F type in this match up is the detuned version. Put the full bore R version and there is no contest.
Same thing applies to the F-Type. The stigma towards jaguars is pretty dated. Most of the modern models are no less reliable than anything and the F Types are surprisingly rugged.
He let off the peddle in the LC500 during the roll race a second before they started, and he also screwed up shifting the first round. Hard to judge, but i give the edge to the Jag.

@@BigDunker345 im write about lfa not lc 👌🏻
What ur pick....Jaguar or Lexus......
I love Jaguar my first car was a Jaguar s type R. So clearly I have a soft spot for them. They just need to actually learn how to make a car last 😂
That lex looks sooooo good.
Just my opinion, but I prefer when you had specs showing up like before on your older videos
Which is ur favourite car brand
The Lexus' looks + Jaguar's sound = sinister 😈🤘
didnt go as expected? that went exactly how i expected lol
More hp but still lost that's why a Lil bit out of expectations
I like how that Lexus look. 👀
Richard , the cabriolet is always heavier than the corresponding coupe ... regardless which make ... even a 718 spyder doesn't defy the structural requirements
Bmw m340i xdrive vs lexus is500 pls
m340i will destroy that lexus fact
The lc500 is such beautiful vehicle. But I’ve always felt like it needed more power to be the legend it can be
Current pricing would say you should compare the Jag R version to the LC. Now that would be a trounce and a half.
The Maserati sounded so good😍
I love my LC and never intended to race it but got it for the crazy looks and the reliability and luxurious feel.
The LC500 has such a great V8 exhaust sound until an F Type pulls up.
Eh my preference is the NA toyota v8 high revving but it's close and just my opinion
You should of race your IS500 with the jaguar since they both weigh almost identical.
News flash......the Lexus LC500 is a grand touring car, not a race car! It's about luxury, comfort and styling! That's why I bought the 2022 model.
Is the LC500 supposed to be the Lexus LFA? Lexus need to reproduce the LFA
good sounding cars and nice drag. thanks Sam. can you pls say the weight in kg too pls???
Was the LC driver expecting a call during the race? There's a small tampon in his ear.
The beauty of the Jag is 700HP for $1200.
Two pulleys. 4 hours.
Try it.
It's gonna be a sad day when V8s will no longer be available in new cars :(
Finally some Lexus on the channel
I'll take the LC just because it miles more dependable and durable + looks much better. Nothing wrong with the Jaguar though. Both great cars
Video quality is getting better I see y'all!👌🏾
The RC is a heavy piece of crap and pointless Imo for the Lexus line up 😂
Uh what. That thing is a beauty
The LC500 is essentially my dream car. I would be upshifting and downshifting and accelerating constantly lol
I love F Types it is my dream car , no competition here .
I currently have a 2017 Ftype R...I admit...I may get an LC500 at some point if I just want to switch to something else
@@path.1499 very nice!
I'm a lexus owner, but I hate that the LFA's v10 isn't used in the LC, LS or even the RS for that matter. It would certainly put them in a league of their own.
I couldn't agree with you more in fact make it available in LS, RX, LC and anything it will fit in, price be damned.
Two sexy cars for sure! Awesome video!
I am big Lexus fanboy that LC 500 is so slept on !!
He let off the peddle in the LC500 during the roll race a second before they started, and he also screwed up shifting the first round. Hard to judge, but i give the edge to the Jag.
Both amazing machines...but I'm taking the LC-500
Now do it 100 times 😅... LC 99 launches, Jag almost 50?🙈
Funny. My sister has the 6 cylinder F type, and an LC500. I like the Jag better.
What do you like about it better
