    Add a point to our roadtrip: • Plan our Australia Roa...
    Though life on the homestead looks different than it did 6 months ago, we are still working towards our goals and keeping busy.
    We have had to rehome our animals so we can put all our focus on finishing our bus conversion.
    There is often a lot of tasks that happen that you don't realise fill our days, from cooking, to clearing the landscape ready for bushfires, to enjoying life and our hobbies. These are the other parts of the homestead you don't often see while we show the big things.
    This Spring has started off hot, it feels like Summer already and we are still months away from December. Australia is definitely warming up and the strong winds and dry grass is putting a lot of fear and worry into everyone's mind. My heart absolutely goes out to the community who this is bringing up a lot of trauma for and I am grateful for decisions made by the fire department and government to continue keeping everyone and the area safe.

    We ended up having an extreme fire danger day where schools were closed for the day, see our experience through that.

      Yes a terribly dry season, hope you got your fire plan sorted, we have had a couple of scares around us already, gearing up for a lot of stress this Summer.

    Hi Di great clean up off the bush. Wise doing it bit by bit. How cute was that hedgehog? Seriously.
    Hi Sam hope the new job is going well. Love the way you prepared your roast. It looked bloody delicious.
    Great work on the wiring and installation guys. It really coming along.

      Yes the bush feels endless but any bit helps.
      The echidna was seriously cute and stuck around for ages!
      Sam's doing great at work, he is back in disability care and has fit right in as if he's been there for years. Certainly challenging balancing everything but we're getting there!

      @@DiandSam that’s fantastic news about Sam’s work. I’m so glad it’s working out for him. Your so luck having she/he hang around so long. When I see them up the bush I get stuck watching them for ages.

      We don’t have hedgehogs in Australia much to my disappointment but we have echidnas! A bit different but still cute! They do have a cheeky habit of sitting in the middle of the road

    My mother taught me to roast
    We used to put flour rub on the outside with the spice.
    Tandoori Roast is delicious

    This video is not about off grid living!! This video is about a man and his roast lamb!! LOL!! You need to show me how to make that gravy though!! LOL!!

    • @DiandSam
      @DiandSam  5 месяцев назад +1

      We're not off-grid yet, only rural :) But soon!!!
      As for the gravy, Meat juices, extra bone broth, worstershire sauce, and a cornflour slurry to thicken! Salt as is needed, can't go wrong!

    • @DiandSam
      @DiandSam  5 месяцев назад

      Certainly :) however our experience with sheep made us a bit worried to, having temporary fencing and structures makes it really hard to keep those little fellas in!

    CHEMICAL FREE PEST ERADICATION 👍🏆🥳🥳
    Echidnas live off eating ants and their eggs. Great for getting rid of white ants (termites) and annoying meat-ant nests that are too close to you and your main areas and your animals.
    Great roast, good clearing of fire fuels.
    Have a great day from Sthn NSW, Australia 🙏🦘🦘🦘

      Sooo true! Yeh their food of choice completely flew out my head with that comment hahaha Sam had to inform me that echidna was probably very happy there :P
