I think the Rise version is fine and makes absolute sense imo. The Crimson Glow is a Valstrax that mutated terribly and became insane. It fell from grace and is bent on destroying everything because the dragon blight took over. It has essentially become a villain. Hence, the reason why the Rise song sounds so aggressive, sad, and evil.

@@kidblack7905 basically Crimson Valstrax is a Valstrax that became too strong. It's essentially a berserker form. Think of Broly from the Dragon Ball series kinda. This Valstrax has so much uncontrollable energy that it doesn't discriminate on who it attacks.
I took a step foward, Its called Guard tackle because us 245 greatsword mains back down to no one and also cuz moving thru a nuke to slap a de on the side of the head with a giant flat of a sword is kinda funny
In the original version the theme hits much harder with strings accompanying the vocals, but in Rise, aside from adding a few more segments to the song, they play the main chorus twice which I think is much better,. They are both very good on their own but combine the two and we have a masterpiece, thanks for making this.
I absolutely love how you made the "chorus" of the song repeat. It adds so much to it and it always felt a bit jarring when the original cuts off so quickly after the epic melody.
Much like Chaotic Gore Magala, both seem to have lost control over what they both used to fight/survive with, now both must be put down to end their suffering before it gets worse than it already has gotten
Unlike Chaotic Gore, Valstrax's suffering is from internal forces not from external like when a Shagaru Magala molts and activates his version of the virus that gimps every magala surrounding its habitat.
Side note: Am I the only one thinking that Capcom introducing Valstrax to Rise gives us a chance of the return of the Gores? They share the same skeleton after all....

Here in Rise, we see Basarios but no Gravios to date (Gravios is also mentioned in the bio for Basarios!). Diablos appearing in both Gen 5 titles but no Monoblos. Leviathan skeletons being used but no Lagiacrus. And so on...

Both pieces are amazing on their own but when combined like this it's clearly valstrax but you can definitely feel that something is wrong or off and it sends shivers down my spine when I really pay attention and hear the baritones climbing down in the back of the main part
I can still see that moment, when Valstraax took flight then 1:07 came and I took his dive with my Lance' power guard. Depleted my stamina but so does his. We look at each other as my Palico and Palamute regained their footing. 1 cart left. Clash of steel and dragon fire. That win, when this dragon falls down before my lance. It felt so good. Damn.
i really wish the wyvern riding music didn't cut out the amazing themes in the game, seems like such wasted potential, really brings the hype out of a hunt

GU has the stronger instrumental while Rise though a bit weaker and a little too fast, has extended parts in the song that I actually prefer over GU. Combining both makes this so definitive! 😊

yeah the rise version has some slight differences that were hard to work with, just had to dip the volume of one for a sec and hope it sounded alright

Because Val in Rise thought stronger, in a sense is a downgraded of GU Val, because he has become insane from his own dragon energy
