How did you get the front and side LED strips to light up? Is it one of the cables in the top left that comes with the case? No matter what I’ve done I can’t get them to light up.
for me the only minus is that it doesn't have a metal door on the left also, could be useful if you move your case, if you build correctly you shouldn't have VGA led's popping at post. The fans i can feel working, so not many reasons for a pvc glass door especially on the Performance variant.
the other thing about these cases is they have the cabling done before shipping, so you don't have to do the case cabling yourself. And the Velcro straps just help you cable manage seamlessly in no time. So muich better than Zip ties which you have to cut, if you modify something. If you are a Pc builder that saves valuable time. compared to an aqirys case that loses you time.
on the Performance version how do you disable the Frontal white led strip near the power button? the Sata one, other than unplugging it? i was expecting to be able to control it via Gigabyte control center or via software or something.
A great review of a terrific case. I'm surprised at not seeing any place for bottom in take fans for extra GPU cooling though. I still do not get the RGB fever. I much prefer "stealthy and black". Hard to make a decision between Lancool 216, NZXT H6 Flow, Phanteks NV5 and the G500A Performance. Brilliant cases this year. See if you're ready to you make a The best case of the year video.
Thank you. I think that tends to be something on the dual chamber cases more, with the exception of the Lian Li 216. Not too sure to be honest, I'd like to try the NV5 first.
Per Phantek, top radiator clearance is 70mm, so it looks like it could support Arctic Liquid 2 360 cooler on top right? Arctic radiator thickness is 38 plus 35mm for the fans so total is 63. How do you like it compared to Shadow Base 800?
Yeah I think you'll be alright, especially as a 360 is thinner that a 280 (EPS connectors could be tight otherwise). No idea against the 800, I've not used it. Seems good in paper but I need to use one to give you a better idea.
@jordanash thank you for responding, could you confirm, so there is no dust filter on front of g500a? I know there is mesh but I was told it is not as fine as dust filter? Would I need an additional dust filter?
I think I covered that in the video. But no you don't need it, it just might mean slightly more regular cleaning is needed but it's worth the performance gain.
@@Galaxutube the dust doesn't go in, there is a buildup after 1 week, i would vacuum, not wipe with cotton rag . because even at silent and normal speed the fans are pretty powerful. Sometimes i feel my legs cooling
it's late response , but 360 Aio on top fits no problem. Just don't put the front fans on top, and the aio on front. which some people do. Phanteks site says no 420 on top . I think it would fit also, since they have the screws already pre drilled.
@@jordanash Thanks, I'm getting a new dream pc built up on pcpartpicker and I really like this case after watching PCCentric's build video on it. I'm trying to save where I can and mATX saves just a few extra dollars
You're supposed to say after watching my video 😛 I'd personally save a bit for an ATX, it looks so much better, especially as this isn't a small case. It would be worth doing, I wouldn't want you to have a "yeah I should have got ATX" after buying it.
@@jordanash I did come to this video for an in-depth review of this beautiful case! Since it's fairly spacious case I will save up for a ATX board. My current case is pretty small (even though it can support an ATX mobo) which I have a mATX for.
For me, having the option to not be paying extra for Rgb these days is a blessing. I'm one of those unpopular ppl that keeps his case under the table in the pc shelf, where it should be protected. I don't really care for RGB aesthetic unless it's on a keyboard, mouse, light switch where it is useful. I eventually went with this case i really like it, the other was Antecs performance 1. But i found the front design a bit gimmicky.
@@jordanash no, the pc cabinet is to my left leg, has no front door or back panel ofc. imagine book shelves but larger, and has space up top until the table top for airflow. I wouldn't put it in a cabinet closed lol
@@jordanash it's a 2000's desk from my highschool days that i find tasteful even today and didn't go out of style, with those pull out sections for the keyboard and mouse, but done in hardwood.
It would be the perfect case if the PSU moved to the front or to a side chamber allowing for a bottom 140 fan with unobstructed cooling airlow to the VGA.
Depending on the thickness of the card adding another fan might give turbulence though. I noticed that on the AP201 build, it was better without. Also no where to really pull air in from.
@@jordanash Yes, it changes by cases and cases. A perforated bottom part could help with the air intake. Lots of factors to consider though. The bottom fans work very well in the FD Torrent and the Antec C8/C5. We'll see how the Lian Li Lancool 207 and the Montach HS01 fare.
fans pulling from all sides just makes turbulance. The AIo on the top already puts a "wrench" in the airflow. All you need in a case is air coming in from the front and going out at the back. The rest is overrated marketing bs. The PSU should face down, and be pulling air, not the other way so the dust falls in from the top. Anyway Phantek designed it perfectly and i like the PSU where it is. Having it on the side would mean a fatter wider case. Which majority don't like. The warm air the GPU produces the case front and back fans dispose off.
Beautiful Cage. Simple but I like cable management it has! Cheers Jordan!
Simple but effective! You're welcome, thanks for watching.
Awesome review, love this case
Thank you! Nice, isn't it
How did you get the front and side LED strips to light up? Is it one of the cables in the top left that comes with the case? No matter what I’ve done I can’t get them to light up.
The front one is sata powered. I'm presuming you have the rgb version if you're mentioning a side strip, maybe it's 5v addressable instead?
Bro me too what did you do to fix it

Glass is all the rage nowadays, be nice to have the option I guess. Also some cards have LEDs that kick on regardless

Yep true
Is it possible to install a 420mm AIO in the front, and then move the stock fans up to the top of the case?
You could yeah, only two though
on the Performance version how do you disable the Frontal white led strip near the power button? the Sata one, other than unplugging it? i was expecting to be able to control it via Gigabyte control center or via software or something.
If it's just sata power then just unplug it.
Very nice video, thanks. One question, where can I find additional HDD 3,5 Brackets? I have 2 but i need 4. No way on the web for this model. Thanks

Silly question but can this case support mATX or does it only support ATX mobos?
It can yeah, I usually say the others sorry. ATX is better unless you have to use MATX, as that will fill out the case better
