I explored Munich with Simply Munich and they showed me the top bars, restaurants, breweries, activities, sightseeing, and more. I also discuss the trendy hotel I stayed at (25 hours Hotel), and the importance of exploring with a guidebook. During my trip I met Amadeus the author of the Munich Marco Polo guidebook and he shared his top tip for visitors with me. If you enjoyed this video, please subscribe!

Nice video, I hope you had a bunch of fun in Munich!! Next time you visit also check out he rooftop cafe of the technical university for a beautiful view. It's close to all the art museums and sometimes when there is Föhn (a warm wind coming from italy) you can see the alps. Another nice cafe close by there is called "Von und zu" (it has really yummy cheese and ham platters) And there are a bunch of fun ("studenty") cafes and restaurants around the Barerstr. and the metro station "Universität".
Btw thanks for your great videos about NYC! I can't wait to check out the places you recommend!
Thank you for the great tips! I'm glad you loved the video Katie H. I hope you subscribed (if you haven't already)! Thank you! :)
In any case the roof terrace coffee! Vorhoelzer Forum is the name; not quite easy to recognize, as you have to pass through the university buildings, but one of the most beautiful views in Munich! ... and a great student atmosphere.
Dont remember Allianz arena
I am first indian watch you'r channel

According to all of the articles online it is the Swiss Alps. Reference: en.wikiarquitectura.com/building/munich-olympic-stadium/
You know you are in München, when your tour guide is wearing a Rolex :D
Why is that? I’ve never visited Munich so I want to know.
@@babylon3841 cause Munich is rich af
@@kilis9585 Just a cliché that has not much to do with reality.
Wish I would have watched before we went. Just got back and absolutely loved the Bavaria region, especially Munich!
gotta try "der verrückte eismacher" (crazy icecream maker) near the university. they always have new crazy ice cream tastes like cheese, augustiner or baked potatoes and some less daring ones like strawberry with basil or melon with honey. i really love the taste "pancakes with applesauce" yummyy
Schwangerschaftstest-Eis 😂
Great video, there were quite a few things I did‘nt know although I live here. My favorite things to do in Munich: In summer, jump into the Eisbach river at a spot just a few meters downstream from the surfers, and let the strong current take you through the English garden. A good place to get to know locals of all ages is the Alte Utting, a ship that crosses a railway bridge, where you can drink your beer on the upper deck while having a great view over the city.
I would also recommend "Neue Pinakothek" and "Alte Pinakothek", if you are interested in art. Also "Königsplatz". King Ludwig the first of Bavaria was a huge fan of Greek architecture, so he built "Königsplatz" in Greek style. It's a little less known among tourists, but really worth a visit. And "Botanischer Garten", which is a big botanic garden right next to "Schloss Nymphenburg", which you obviously visited, because it can be seen in the video. It's beautiful there, especially in summer, when all the flowers and plants are in bloom. :) If I where you, next time you visit "Nymphenburger Schloss", I would visit "Botanischer Garten" too. Also there is a Chinese garden in "Westpark" which I visit a lot, because it's so relaxing and awesome. One second you walk through a park in Munich and the next second you think you are in China. :) Greetings from Munich, I'm glad you enjoyed visiting Munich.
Thank you so much for the recommendations!
You're very welcome! :)
@@TheBloodiac ich sag immer, ich geh kurz nach China^^ Ich liebe es dort einfach, soo chill
@@anthonymuc Sehr gut xD Ist tatsächlich einer meiner Lieblingsorte in München.
Thanks Sarah for sharing your experiences!
You do great! Keep travelling!
Next time you should visit Leierkasten. Its one of the best night-clubs in the city, I swear 😂
I can't tell if you're joking or not lol
Sarah Funk its a joke 😉 but Leierkasten is really a must-see in munich. The best place for men to cross their swords hahaha
I've went there last week, had a nice fight, totally recommend

Leyva Marietta sprichst du so gut Englisch?

Hometown!!❤️
You have a great hometown!
Sarah, thanks for the information. I will be in Munich in 2 weeks. Nice to have a greater scope on what to do there.
great vid/review thanks @Sarah Funk !
I was born in Munich and i think it`s hilarious that you said it`s one of Europes best cities to bike in. I think every local knows that it can be very annoying and dangerous. Still love the video!
J 23 it can be annoying but compared to other cities, like London, Milan or Madrid, Munich is quite good to have a bike tour in.
It's terrible when you're a cardriver!! Sometimes I would like to nuke all the cyclists with my car haha
Compared to other big cities like Berlin, Paris, Madrid it is indeed nice to bike in Munich. The only city coming to my mind probably would be Amsterdam.
Loved our stay in München this summer! Gruß aus Mexico.
It‘s very funny to see, how beautiful Munich can be. Because as I‘m a “Native Munich”-guy I’ve didn’t know most of that...
Very good presentation, full of your energy and most of all, beauty :D. Thank You !
Thank you!
Nice video Sarah, thanks for sharing.
You been to Amsterdam yet? We got a lot of hidden gems too 🤗
I can see my school from St. Peter's church :) and yes, the sunset is beautiful from up there
Thanks for this nice video - makes me appreciate my city even more ❤️
I'm glad you loved it Red.Unique. I hope you subscribed (if you haven't already)! Thank you! :)
You should be proud of your city. It's so incredibly Beautiful!
Great video! thanks for sharing.
I'm glad you loved it Per Sempre Rossoneri. hope you subscribed! Thank you!
Ok ...born and raised in M.....Hirschgarten ,largest Beer garden also Bike tours along the Isar River ,especially in the Sommer ...just to add
I lived in Munich for four years. It is really my favourite German city most probably because it's the one that I know the best. As cred goes, I also lived in Dusseldorf and worked in both Dusseldorf and Cologne and I have visited friends in Berlin and Hamburg. If you are new to Germany and you are without local knowledge, then you will need a local person who loves the city to show you the little things that will make this city your favourite German city too. Or just go for it if the World is your Adventure. Ok. Perhaps, I am too old to give advice. ;-)
I love this city💙💙💙
Also the public transport is great! You can get anywhere you want😊
💕Amazing View 💕 Seem so fun!
I'm glad you loved it Alexa Style Book. I hope you subscribed! Thank you!

It was awesome, right?!
There in May. Will be trying some of these places.
I tell anybody going to Munich to skip the Hofbrau Haus and go across the Platzl to the Ayinger Wirsthaus. Great beer, great food and not a tourist trap.
Thanks for the tip!

Yes, agreed!
True! I really loved the subway in Munich. It was so clean, spaceous and quiet.
i wanted to hate on your upload but gd damn this is some good content. well done
Really good video! I love your editing style💪🏼. I live in Munich for my whole life and it‘s definitely a beautiful city! But there are some more places you need to visit next time!
-Maximilianstraße with the Bavarian Opera
-Isar (really great for biking, but also relaxing and swimming like in the English Garden!)
-Dallmayr (The biggest delicatessen market in Europe! It’s near the Marienplatz)
-fünf Höfe (many cool shops and restaurants)
-Schwabing, Bogenhausen and Heidhausen (really beautiful district of Munich!)
- Lake Starnberg and Lake Tegern (only two of the most beautiful lakes near Munich! Lake Starnberg is ~60min from the city, Lake Tegern is ~90min away)
-Pullach im Isartal (~25min from the city, so relaxing and beautiful)
My favorite restaurants:
-Brenner Grill (near the Maximilanstraße)
- Le Deux (French restaurant near the Fünf Höfe)
- Pageuo (expensive but worth it! It’s Ali Güngörmüs’ restaurant near the Fünf Höfe)
-Guido am Dom (nothing special, but really cool to stay at in the summer)
- La Cucina Tratorria (in Bogenhausen, really good Italian restaurant)
- Menterschweige (the best Bavarian Reastaurant! Near the Isar, ~25 min away if you go there by bike)
These are just some of best places here in Munich, you should definitely visit the city a second time!
Many greetings from a 16 years old Munich Photographer and Filmmaker, Nick ☺️

City looks beautiful.
Hello from Russia.
I have been living in Munich for 17 years and there were a few things I didn't know about 😅
Can you recommend me some budget friendly eateries around there? I’m going there with my girls but we’re on a tight budget.
When in munich go check out all the museums and Art galleries. we've got a fkn lot of em :)
Damn the Guy who wrote the book was my football coach once. Never expected to see him in a video like this
Nice video! In Munich we say, we are a village with a population of 1.5 Million 😂😂😂
Wow it's so cool

Thankyou sarah
Very Amazing
I'm glad you loved it David Ifeanyi. I hope you subscribed (if you haven't already)! Thank you! :)
I like the fact that you really got into doing stuff in munich. but as a person that lives in munich, I hope no ones comes here its way too crowded... And there is the Oktoberfest too... :(
I been there and I have already did all of that
You missed some really cool stuff like Borstei and the shut down train station behind it, flea markets in munich, Isartal, Sarcletti (munichs best known ice cream parlor), Väterchen Timofeis house, grilling at Isar and some other stuff Bavarians do all the time. :D
I'll just have to go back then! :)
Vorname Was kommt jetzt? Verrückter Eismacher? 🤓 Die traurigste verrückte Eisdiele der Welt?
Olympiastadion does not represent Swiss Alps but nomadic tents just like a tent camp for all the nations of the earth to gather for a great festival.
My hometown, one of my favorite cities in Germany
Such a beautiful city!
@@SarahFunky Love your videos of NYC
wonder when she was in Munich the center is normal crowded with people
6:30am lol That was the only way I could film with few people there!
Also if you’re into soccer visit the allianz arena it’s amazing and houses one of the best soccer teams ever
You all have to go to Augustiner Bräu, best beer in the world & typical bavarian food / Viva la Bavaria
Hey Sarah, the most intresting within Munich you missed wihich is the Deutsche museum, it shows the industrial revolution pretty well. We are not drinking only Beer on Oktoberfest,
Funk find this video wonderful
Do you live there Sarah? Great vid! Do you know if you can bring your own food to the beer garden at the English Garden?
You should do a vegan tour of Munich. Even if you aren’t vegan, it will get lots of views and you might enjoy it! I’ll be hitting my third Oktoberfest next week, and also doing a brewery/craft beer tour and a vegan tour at the same time. yeah! Munich!
That is a great idea! No I live in NYC but Munich is great :)
So beuatiful
1. visit the pinakothek
2. go to airhop
3. go to bavaria movie studios
4. avoid any public transport (at this point of time its a big mess)
5. visit botanic garden
6. stay away from east station (it‘s ugly af)
7. don’t expect any kindness from strangers. Munich is full of busy people whom don’t care about u what so ever
8. go to nymphenburg
9. viktualienmarket is waaayyy to overpriced and not worth it.
10. go to thermen erding. U dont want to miss that one
11. kartpalast is the best way to go gokarting. Shouldn’t miss it aswell
Great tips! Thanks!
Go to the central station we have nice table dance here😁
Now I want to go to Munich!
Luis Yanes
Where are you from?
