As an American living in Germany for the last 25 years, 21 in München (Munich), it’s so cool to finally see some of the places I go to, not just the “tourist destinations”. Thanks so much. Maybe I’ll see you around sometime. Servus!
First of all, compliments that you have chosen the "drei Mühlen". I live right across the street (you even filmed my entrance to the courtyard) I've been living here for almost 20 years and the drei Mühlen, even for me as a Bavarian a stunner. I often and mostly eat the delicious roast pork with beer sauce and coleslaw. Unfortunately, you forgot one important point! The quality of the meat, from the best butcher in town. Magnus Bauch, just around the corner. He is one of the best butchers in Germany and I mean that literally! It is a good sign, if you come there on saturday morning around 6:30 am and you see the fire brigade, the paramedics and the police geting the Weißwürst ther colleagues on duty for a Weißwurst breakfast. Sometimes they are in the second row. By the way i`m not getting paid to say this. I just love it. Keep up the work Matthias from Reifensuelstr 8
Thanks so much! 😍 We only just learned about the restaurant the other day when some friends who live around the corner took us there. Thanks for the tip! We'll have to check out the butcher. We're getting so much great information via comments from locals. 😍
Great video! One really unique thing is that you showed the charm of the neighborhoods, I would have never known how great Au-Haidhausen was. Definitely would love to see more of these and keep showing off the great city that is Munich. Interestingly, my family always refers to Munich as the Millionendorf, which essentially means a village of a million people. You could be in Altstadt and never know you are in such a large city!
Thanks so much.🥰 we really loved showing off the neighborhoods. I have often heard of people saying similar things about Munich’s similarities to villages
I can’t believe I accidentally ended up at the Wirtshaus in der Au tonight! I just arrived in Munich and my NYE reservations fell through. The concierge made a call and said go to this restaurant. As I arrived I realized….holy poo…I am at that restaurant that I just saw Near from home talking about. The food was amazing and I am planning on a returning before I leave. Actually…I am now on a mission to go to ever restaurant you recommend here. Thank you so much for making this video.
What a surprise I stumbled upon . Over 10 years I used to live in the same little one way street where the Drei Muehlen restaurant is situated now. That was 30 years ago before I moved to Australia. Drei Muehlen didn't exist back then but your video triggered all the good memories I had from this great city. Thank you 😁🙏
I'm currently in Munich (April 2023) and I'm hitting all the spots presented in this video. Although I've been to Munich over 15 times, I usually roam West of the Isar River. I'm certainly glad that I found your channel - your recommendations are spot on - thanks!
I am sooooooo sooooo thankful! Finally somebody who recommends skipping the Hofbräuhaus, which is only loud and touristy. And somebody who does not call the Maß a "Stein". Since there are actual "Steinkrüge" :-) There is also another very nice beergarden between Neuhausen, Gern, Nymphenburg, the Taxisgarten.
Only problem with skipping HB is you miss out on the history and culture that makes Bavaria, Bavaria. It is having a bier fest every night of the year. It also has a sweet restaurant on the 1st floor and an amazing festival hall on the second floor. It is a major historical part of the Bavarian empire. Not to mention some pretty amazing food upstairs from the beer hall.
@@j54island Well, talking about history. On February 20, 1920, Hitler's party, the NSDAP, was founded in the Hofbräuhaus. In the course of the Munich bombing in 1945 the whole building was totally destroyed. Reconstruction from scratch was finished in 1958. So I think it's pretty decent to skip the place which is not even the real thing. Also I was driven out of the Hofbräuhaus by the noise and the stink seconds after I literally poked my nose into the place.
I'm not on the Hofbräuhaus hate bandwagon. I've had several memorable experiences there over the years that I do not regret. It is indeed too touristy but it's one of those tourist places you should experience at least once, preferably not during the peak hours or season. I'm kind of glad that Ben & Camille do not cover it as I can find enough info about it all over RUclips. I'm always looking for hidden gems and HB is not one of those, so I'll keep watching NFH for more insider tips.
Awesome video! My family and I will be visiting your spots next summer when we visit Munich. If you two bike ride in Munich that would be a great topic. You two have the best Germany travel videos. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much! Glad to hear you’ll be visiting 😍 we’ve actually been doing a lot of bike riding this fall, but have had no time to cover it on our channel. Stay tuned for the spring time!
Good video with a change of pace from your regular, nice to see the fall foliage and the local Munich spot. I hungry now for some good snitzel! Keep up the great content
The best of bavarian self service beer garden culture is the fact that you are allowed to bring your own food. You can prepare what ever you like at home and consume it in the Biergarten as long as you buy your drinks (beer) there. The ultimate local tip: go to the Viktualienmarkt buy great food specialities at the surrounding market shops and then sit down in the adjacent beer garden and eat & drink like a bavarian king for relatively little money...
Hello Near From Home, It is a pleasure to meet you both. I've been enjoying your videos of Munich food and transportation. I'm traveling to Munich next week to meet my husband during his business trip and to enjoy my first Octoberfest. We'll be staying at the Four Points by Sheraton Munich Arabellapark. I'm looking forward to exploring the city and its neighborhoods with your suggestions of great places to stop for beer or food. As a professional chef and baker, my favorite way to learn about the culture of a place is to spend time walking through the neighborhoods away from the tourist areas and asking the locals and shop owners what they suggest. Thank you so much for the work you all put into your videos. I'm a new subscriber to your channel!
Munich is a beautiful city (especially in the fall🍂) and has super delicious food to offer. I really liked seeing that you didn't just go to super tourist places🤩
I would love to make (another) trip to München and do a tour of only traditional wirtshäuser... with no trendy modern places, no ethnic food, (other than Bavarian or the occasional döner), no IPAs or burgers.... just lots of delicious pork dishes and lots of local beer. I love your work. You've touched on it a bit but I think you need to make that video. :-)
Thank you for all your amazing videos! As lovers of Bavaria we are soaking up every bit of information you have as a local, we hate hitting the tourist traps. More food and beer tours is a must 🥨🍻
Yes! That’s my favourite Biergarten in Munich, too. Wiener Platz has got nice cafés, generally. Nice to have found your channel- we both love it here, in this amazingly beautiful part of the world! I’m just an hour away irl, btw.
Fino Feinkost in Max Weber Platz is the perfect place to grab some delectables to take to the nearby Hofbräukeller in Wiener Platz-for a lunchtime drinking session, that is. Good options for both vegetarians and omnivores!
In Munich for two days and our first stop was at Drei Muhlen! Had the trilogy and it was every bit as delicious as you promised. Thanks for sharing the tip!
Nicely done video. Glad you enjoyed Munich. Best regards from a polyglot U.S. American, residing in Munich (downtown Gollierplatz) for several decades. p.s.: Augustiner Helles is my favorite Munich lager beer.
I am currently planning a trip to Munich (with day trips to elsewhere in Bavaria!) and I have watched a LOT of your videos, but I wanted to drop a comment here because as a vegetarian I particularly appreciated the tips from Camille about what she likes to eat in Munich, so thank you for this and many other things that I have learned and will definitely be using on my upcoming trip.
Glad I found your videos.. heading to Munich in July and this helps.. more would be gr8.. I also loved the rothenburg and Salzburg vids as we are going there also.. cheers from Australia and keep em coming 😁
Oh my god I was in the same beer garden first time I visited Munich one of my favorite spots. There is nothing that I don’t like about Munich. I can’t wait to visit again.
@@NearFromHome Did you know that Haidhausen actually used to be called "Glassscherbenviertel" ("Brokenglassquarter") and "Franzosenviertel" ("Frenchquarter")? When I moved there in 1974, mostly students, workers and "Guestworkers" (from Italy, Turkey and Greece) lived there. Living space was still very cheap. I shared a 5-room apartment (at Wörthstrasse), with 4 more people, so it was very affordable. There were plenty of Turkish, Greek, Italian and French restaurants. All my friends lived there and after work, we met mostly in one Greek restaurant, "Kytaros", near Wiener Platz, and talked, ate, had Greek wine, and....danced (there was always Greek live music) until 2AM in the morning. During the summer almost daily. We spent more time in their beer garden than at work. Talking about "Life-Work Balance:, ha, ha. Best time of my life. Truly.
Thanks for this (and many of your other videos). We are fortunate enough to get to Munich once a year for the fest, but we also save several days to explore Munich and surrounding towns, so it's always good to get some new places to check out. I ran across you guys when I was doing research for our trip to Weltenburg Abbey in Sept 2021. Drei Mühlen is now on the list for Sept 2022! We stay in the area I believe that is called Schwanthalerhöhe, near St Paul Church and the Hbf.....if you need an area to do another "Munich Food Tour". Prost!
When you were at Wirtshaus in der au you were practically filming my front door, lol. Glad to see this part of munich get some recognition even though it's right next to the deutsches museum!
Hof-X (Hoflieferant) means that the company/producer had the title of a official supplyer to the the royal court - in Bavaria the Bavarian court. Like in the UK a Royal Warrant of Appointment.
We just got back from a trip to Germany. Your recommendation of Wirsthaus in der Au was outstanding!! We travelled for 2 weeks and ate potato dumpling as a side several times but I didn’t really like it. Though that was your top recommendation I ordered a roast pork which came with a knodel. And boy were we blown away. Loved loved the food. Also they were so kid friendly. Perfect place on a cold snowy day ❤️
Nice vid, brought up memories. I lived for 3 years in Johanniskirchen ( N. Munich), being from the north I never would have expected moving south :) But I have fond memories of Munich, especially because I lived near the Isar. I don't know of other major cities having a clear water stream flowing through?? But regarding the alternative music (partying) scene, Munich fulfilled all my prejudices. A good recomendation is the X Club in Lehel. I have fond memories of nights at the old location, playing Kicker all night :)
Thank you for your videos. We lived in Wiesbaden for a few years. We loved it. Miss it loads. The giant pretzels, OhMy Word. YUM. Well all the food was wonderful. Again, thank you for your wonderful videos.
Loved the video, great tips, but the last place, the Drei Mühlen, blew my mind. Must go there! However, in your ”beer review” you forgot to mention tgat it’s actually Augustiner that is the best beer of München. Naughty man!
Servus Ben! 👋 Mein Mann und ich besuchen zurzeit München, und wir haben heute Abend in Wirtshaus in der Au gegessen! Danke für die Vorschlag! Es war toll! Wir probieren auch Drei Mühlen und Hofbräukeller später.
Totally loved that cheese at the HofbraukellerNot to mention it isn’t so damn crowded like the main location!!! Such a chill relaxed environment (at least when I was there…..now).
That Biergarten was near our hotel. It was wonderful. There was also a schnitzel place near an Aldi’s that we ate at more than once. I really liked Putinschnitzel, and not just because Putin is Turkey (it’s a 70s perjorative) in Deutsch. They didn’t want to give me sauerkraut and potato salad, because they didn’t want my fragile American tummy to get upset.
Thanks for this great video! My two sons and I were in München in April and our first restaurant we went to was Drei Mühlen. And we got the schnitzel trio with the mushroom sauce! So good! Sehr lecker! Such a great recommendation!
Next time don't forget to mention that in Munich one can bring their own food to a beer garden - and sit down on the benched tables, not the chaired tables. Which makes a visit to a beer garden a rather cheep picnicking destination. (doesn't apply everywhere in Bavaria though.) Obviously you'd get the bevvies from the bar after all. Thanks for your insightful guides!
I've been to this Biergarten twice this summer. It was undisputable a great experience. But it gets super crowded. Had the fish on the stick an I can recommend it.
I have also had the fish on the stick hahah. Would recommend. It does get very crowded, plus, I think tourists are catching on, as I've heard quite a bit of English there.
@@NearFromHome They might be locals. There’s actually a sizable English-speaking community growing on this side of the river. I’m in Altbogenhausen, the so-called consular quarter, and on hearing my accent several cab drivers have asked if I work for Microsoft, since it’s apparently the “Microsoft neighborhood.”
I'm taking my first trip to Germany next week, November 2022, staying in Heidhausen, so I will definitely try one or two or three of these places, if I can talk my wife into it. Thanks for the info.
Day two of following these recommendations. Haidhausen is wonderful. Hofbraukeller had the exact atmosphere I wanted to experience. Maybe rose tinted naïveity but certainly felt like a local there. Of note though; as a Johnny Foreigner I got totally confused by my glass deposit token. Promptly remedied but did catch me off guard.
I'm so glad you are having fun with our suggestions! It is funny you mention not knowing about the pfand system, though because we have been debating making a "how to beer garden" video for ages, lol.
Thank you for the great insider's guide. I am planning a trip for September and Munich will be my home base for five days. I think I know which food video you referenced because I just watched that one too. We're looking for semi-touristy eats to get the feel of Bavaria without the crowds. Big fan of your cat cameo as well. It's going to be hard to be away from my two kitties for ten days.
Thank so much! I think these three restaurants sound like what your looking for! I would also recommend Zum Kloster, also in Haidhausen . We wanted to feature it in this video, but it would have been too long. Glad you appreciate a good cat cameo. If you watch some of our other videos, maybe you'll see the other two. lol
The last restaurant with the three types of schnitzel is definitely on my list! Your video on navigating the German ticketing system has already been extremely helpful. I feel confident that I can navigate to Zugspitze and other day trips without the need of a tour guide. I'll try to spot your kitties in other videos.
@@NearFromHome Hey.. it took only two years to answer :D and yes, you are right. Actually..I guess you are no longer a foreigner, more a local. Servus.
Well I find that the best local food I can get in all the Bräu houses Ana amazing beer paluner dunkel for example are wundabar Like yours Chanel guys Munich just amazing city
We love your videos! Thank you for your content. My wife and i will be traveling to Munich Nov 2- 5 and are wondering if there will be any Fests or carnivals in Munich or a nearby town? Thank you!!
I found something called the Tölzer LeonhardIfahrton November 6th. It's in Bad Tölz, which is about an hour away from Munich by train. Other than that, November is pretty quiet as it's the time between the fall festivals and Christmas markets.
Big fan of the Münchner Schnitzel, although, as a classic nitpick, to my understanding that's sweet / Bavarian mustard and horseradish. So that'd actually be the Drei Mühlen Schnitzel on that menu ...
Do you know what "Obatzter" actually means? It's from Batz (spoken with a long a) or pulp/mush so it's mushed up cheese. The "o" is Bavarian for high German "an" so in e.g., Hanover you would say "Angematschter" if it even existed there.
Excellent camerawork. Schnitzel is my go to food when in Austria and my home town of Munich. In the US its hard to find anyone who makes Schnitzel with Veal.
I've tried all of the Big 6 Munich breweries beer. I'm personally most fond of Augustinerbraeu Helles. I've probably drunk more Hofbraeu or Spaten, but only because they are available here in the States. Another of my faves is Kloster Andechs Hell. I haven't yet found a local source of Augustiner Hell.
On my recent trip to Europe, I wasn't able to visit Kloster Andechs due to time constraints. I've watched your presentation several times--which prompted me to have that trip on my agenda for a possible visit. It was pouring rain the day I had planned for the visit. 😂@@NearFromHome
Schnitzel can be had in bavaria and good ones too but its really an austrian dish. There are only 2 options for a side dish. Its either parsley potatoes or potato salad. A chips option doesnt really exist. Its just much cheaper and easier to buy chips and fry them than peeling potatoes so in bavaria many restaurants offer it but less so in austria. You also always get a sort of cranberry sauce which often times isnt homemade and is usually too sweet but it fits really well if you happen to get lucky with a homemade one. Also gravy is a big nono on breaded schnitzels. If you think the meat is too dry without it then you should probably try a different restaurant.
Are you Austrian? I get this comment a lot ;) but I’ll tell you what. Drei Mühlen Schnitzel with the mushroom gravy, it’s the best I’ve ever had. Which from this channel’s receipts alone, you can tell it wasn’t my first rodeo with the Schnitzel. I do hope you subscribe and stick around though. I’ve got another food tour in Heidelberg coming up and they served their schnitzel with a beer gravy!!
@@NearFromHome Im actually bavarian and Ive lived not in but close to munich for 25 years total and Im living there right now. But Ive lived in several places in bavaria including Würzburg and Garmisch. And even though Im a proud bavarian I have to admit that we cant really hold a candle to Austria when it comes to Schnitzel. Of course everybody can eat what they want but I personally dont understand chips as a side dish in general. There are so many better things to make out of potatoes :D
Have you done a video on the breweries you can visit in the Munich area? Augustiner is a favorite of mine, as well as Paulaner, but I can't any information on touring either.
We will be visiting Munich for four to five days next May. Neither of us drink. Will that be weird to be in a beer garden? Your other videos have given us plenty of great options for day trips. Keep up the good work and share more about Munich itself.
No worries. People aren’t pushy and mostly keep to themselves. Your drink of choice, though maybe upon a very close inspection will look a bit of an odd one out, is perfectly fine and no one will be looking that closely or judging :) perhaps during Oktoberfest I’d recommend non-beer drinkers give the gardens a skip, lol, but nah don’t worry.
Zero problemo! Every Munich brewery and Biergarten offers alcohol-free beer, though in some places you may need to ask for it. You’ll fit right in. I find the alkoholfrei Weißbier rather tasty.
Great job on the video. We’ll be traveling to Munich in mid September and I noticed that there were quite a few wasps at the Biergarten you visited. My kids and I are near phobic of wasps and I’m wondering just how bad they are at that time of year. I did some research and it sounds like they can get out of hand in August and September. We might need to try the Biergartens in the evening after they’ve gone back home. What are your thoughts?
Hmmm, yeah I suppose now that you mention it there were a lot of wasps. So you might want to be a little prepared. I would say that you don’t need to worry too much as they aren’t particularly aggressive, but that’s not really very helpful. I’m deathly afraid of snakes, and telling me that snakes are nice doesn’t really help. So what I will say is maybe go to busier beer gardens, or simply beer halls. Are you hoping to come for Oktoberfest? Because if so you won’t need to worry about wasps there :)
Well, my feedback is that I looked up recipes for vegane Semmelknödeln and vegane Sellerie Schnitzel So as a food tour it was great it inspired me. My experience of Munich eating was finding a vegan restaurant that served something other than american style burgers which sadly seems to be the trendy thing. I would be interested in you and your wife exploring ethnic restaurants in Munich as a tour idea.
That has been our experience with vegan and vegetarian restaurants as well. 😓 Honestly, I've found the non-Bavarian food scene to be really lacking, but we have managed to find a couple of good foreign restaurants.
Dude, munich tourist office should pay you big time for this great advertisement! Nice Video ;) All the best from Dachau ;) 12:20 Bruder, als Österreicher bricht es mir immer wieder das Herz wenn ich Sauce zum Schnitzel sehe. Sauce zum Schnitzel gehört verboten!!! Erlaubt sind nur Preiselbeeren!! ;)
Watching all your vids in preparation for a Bavaria trip in June. Can't wait to try these places out (schnitzel every day!). Any pointers for good district for hotels (Munich, not too touristy)?
Awesome! Most of the hotels I know of are in quite touristy areas, as in near the train station and in the Altstadt. I would go with a hotel in the Altstadt, as it is touristy, but aesthetic, as opposed to near the main train station, which is noisy and a little seedy. My favorite locals' neighborhoods are: Maxvorstadt, Schwabing, Schwanhahlerhöhe, Haidhausen, and Glockenbachviertel. Maybe there are some nice Air B&Bs there?
@@NearFromHome Thx for the help! Also thinking about 2 days in Berchtesgaden and 3 days in Garmish. If you have any other suggestions for picturesque mountain towns to spend a few days, let me know :)

Glad I found your videos.. heading to Munich in July and this helps.. more would be gr8.. I also loved the rothenburg and Salzburg vids as we are going there also.. cheers from Australia and keep em coming 😁
Thanks so much! Hope your trip goes well. :)
Great video brother! Headed to München this weekend and this was an excellent guide and introduction to the city!
Thanks so much! Hope y out have a wonderful time!
Oh my god I was in the same beer garden first time I visited Munich one of my favorite spots. There is nothing that I don’t like about Munich. I can’t wait to visit again.
We love it too. 😍
I've lived in Haidhausen for 14 years and, oh boy, do I remember this beer garden. Thanks for this video.
Wow. I am mad jealous 😭 Haidhausen is great.
Thanks so much! 🥰
Truly.
@@amfgraphics3810 I had no idea. The most i knew was that Haidhausen used to be a "working class" neighbourhood.
You time there sounds truly amazing
I am going later this year! Definitely will make sure to go to these places! Look fantastic so can’t wait to go in person
Thanks so much! I know you will have a great time!
Prost!
Thanks so much! 😎 Glad we have been helpful!
We love the Schwanthalerhöhe neighborhood, and are trying to branch out to it for future food videos!
Great footage and tips! Would love to see more content like this in addition to your usual videos 😊
Thanks so much! 🥰
When you were at Wirtshaus in der au you were practically filming my front door, lol. Glad to see this part of munich get some recognition even though it's right next to the deutsches museum!
😭 so jealous!
Glad to give Haidhausen the recognition it deserves
I absolutely LOOOOIIVE Münchner Schnitzel. I didn't know the Drei Mühlen before, thanks for the tip, I am gonna check it out.
Then you will love this place! :D Hope you like it.
This is awesome 👏🏽 traveling to Munich for the beer fest, can’t wait to try all your recommendations.
Sweet! We are also very excited for Oktoberfest
great vlog, thank you for taking us with! Yes keep doing food vlogs, you look good
Thank you!
I'm headed to Munich from the US in less than a week, and I can't wait to try all of these spots you showed us!!
Yay! I hope you have a nice time!
Hof-X (Hoflieferant) means that the company/producer had the title of a official supplyer to the the royal court - in Bavaria the Bavarian court. Like in the UK a Royal Warrant of Appointment.
ohhhhhhhh :O
Going in June! Hope to see you there. Awesome video.
🤩
Fantastic food tour!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just enjoyed our first trip to Germany-Rhine Valley, Rothenburg and Munich/Salzberg. Many venues were based on your videos. Fantastic trip!
Thanks so much! Glad it worked out! :)
Perfect place on a cold snowy day ❤️
Glad it held up to our praise! Thanks for watching.
The Isar is so pretty. 😍 I really find that if you want the alternative partying scene, you need to go to Berlin
This is awesome, I wish I seen this before my trip to Munich 3 weeks back.
Awww man. Next time!
Great recommendations! Hope to go in Sep 2023! Thanks.
Thanks!
Thank you for your videos. We lived in Wiesbaden for a few years. We loved it. Miss it loads. The giant pretzels, OhMy Word. YUM. Well all the food was wonderful. Again, thank you for your wonderful videos.
Thank you so much! :D
Yum please do more food reviews and restaurant recommendations!
😎
Loved the video, great tips, but the last place, the Drei Mühlen, blew my mind. Must go there! However, in your ”beer review” you forgot to mention tgat it’s actually Augustiner that is the best beer of München. Naughty man!
Hahaha not me starting a culture war in this videos.
Thanks for watching. :D
Servus Ben! 👋 Mein Mann und ich besuchen zurzeit München, und wir haben heute Abend in Wirtshaus in der Au gegessen! Danke für die Vorschlag! Es war toll! Wir probieren auch Drei Mühlen und Hofbräukeller später.
:D Danke! Freut mich, dass es dir gefallen hat
Going to munich in March and we are a 10 min walk from out hotel to that first beer garden 🍻 😃
yassssssssss. What a great place to stay!
Been to Munich quite a few times and love it everytime. I will try these places next time. Tchuss.
😎
Amazing and useful video! I hope I'll be there to try it in 3 weeks )
😎 thank you! Hope you have a nice time!!
Totally loved that cheese at the HofbraukellerNot to mention it isn’t so damn crowded like the main location!!! Such a chill relaxed environment (at least when I was there…..now).
Same! :D
I’m in Munich right now. I’m going to check out Drei Mühlen while I’m here on your recommendation
:D
That Biergarten was near our hotel. It was wonderful. There was also a schnitzel place near an Aldi’s that we ate at more than once. I really liked Putinschnitzel, and not just because Putin is Turkey (it’s a 70s perjorative) in Deutsch. They didn’t want to give me sauerkraut and potato salad, because they didn’t want my fragile American tummy to get upset.
Hahahah excellent. The sauerkraut and potato salad is definitely different :O
Thanks for this great video! My two sons and I were in München in April and our first restaurant we went to was Drei Mühlen. And we got the schnitzel trio with the mushroom sauce! So good! Sehr lecker! Such a great recommendation!
Glad you liked it!
At this point, Drei Mühlen really needs to give us some kickbacks :D
@@NearFromHome Wouldn't that be nice! And I'm a big fan of Augustiner. I sure hope to go back.
Nice video, you are probably stuffed with the food and the beer after making the video 🥰✨
Oh yes. We were out for the rest of the weekend 😅
thank you for your video. greetings from germany.
Thanks for watching!
Yes please, keep eating for us 😋😋
Hahahaha this video is doing really well, so a part 2 is in the works 😄
Loved this video!
Thanks so much!
You both are very funny! Congratulations from Rio de Janeiro!!
🥰
Just found your channel. I love love love Munich. What about my two favorite restaurants in Munich.
1. Augustiner Keller
2. Klingwirt
Thanks so much! We love Augustiner Keller, but haven't been to Klingwirt! Will check it out!
Just caught up with YT, you were literally on my doorstep 🍺
yayyyy. you are very lucky to live in such a cute neighborhood. 😍
@@NearFromHome cheers. It is alright.
I'm taking my first trip to Germany next week, November 2022, staying in Heidhausen, so I will definitely try one or two or three of these places, if I can talk my wife into it. Thanks for the info.
Haidhausen is a wonderful place to stay. Hope you can make it out to these restaurants. Have a nice time!
Oh my. Thank you for really showing the neighborhoods. I want to move to f'ing Haidhausen RIGHT NOW!!!
:) It#s such a nice neighbourhood
Big like . Big support , I like your videos my dear friend 😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks you!
Preysingstr is in da house! Und die Rocket auch 😂
Want to visit Germany one day!! Subscribed :)
Thanks!
Great video tour. Your very well spoken and I wonder if the beers after awhile make it hard to stay focused.
They definitely do, but movie magic also made shooting this video in "one day' very possible. 😉
@@NearFromHome yes movie magic 👍
Enjoy man nice place and good good beer 🍻 too
Thanks!
Sitting here at 00:05 and watching some foreigners eating delicious bavarian food, while I am in a suburb of Munich...ahhh I am getting hungry :D
hahahah well at least you are close 🙃
@@NearFromHome Hey.. it took only two years to answer :D and yes, you are right. Actually..I guess you are no longer a foreigner, more a local. Servus.
great videos , thanks.
:D
Well I find that the best local food I can get in all the Bräu houses Ana amazing beer paluner dunkel for example are wundabar
Like yours Chanel guys
Munich just amazing city
Thanks so much!
Congratulations, Augustiner: best beer in Bavaria. PS: Very beautiful Autumn impressions.
Thanks so much.
Augustiner is one of our favorites. 😍
At least the best of the big breweries
We love your videos! Thank you for your content. My wife and i will be traveling to Munich Nov 2- 5 and are wondering if there will be any Fests or carnivals in Munich or a nearby town? Thank you!!
I found something called the Tölzer LeonhardIfahrton November 6th. It's in Bad Tölz, which is about an hour away from Munich by train. Other than that, November is pretty quiet as it's the time between the fall festivals and Christmas markets.
@NearFromHome Thanks! Another question. Do people still hangout at the outdoor Biergardens during early November?
ummmm I think if the weather is nice, then yes, but don't quote me on that!@@picoplaya
Ahhhh, I did not know. 😀
Excellent camerawork. Schnitzel is my go to food when in Austria and my home town of Munich. In the US its hard to find anyone who makes Schnitzel with Veal.
Thanks so much! I don’t think I’ve even seen that much schnitzel in the US, so that tracks
Awesome! Augustiner is our favourite too! We want to do a beer tour video at some point!
We also have a video on Andechs if you want to check it out!
On my recent trip to Europe, I wasn't able to visit Kloster Andechs due to time constraints. I've watched your presentation several times--which prompted me to have that trip on my agenda for a possible visit. It was pouring rain the day I had planned for the visit. 😂@@NearFromHome
Obatzda goes well with beer because a lot of times there is beer in it I have heard :D
Oh yeah. Forgot all about that 😅
Schnitzel can be had in bavaria and good ones too but its really an austrian dish.
-> Great video! I fave dish is “Käsespätzle”!! 🤓✌🏽I’ll be back May 2022: can’t wait!!!
Thanks so much! That is also my favorite :D
May is such a nice month in Munich
Have you done a video on the breweries you can visit in the Munich area? Augustiner is a favorite of mine, as well as Paulaner, but I can't any information on touring either.
We haven't gone to any brewery tours in Munich actually. Kinda shocking :O
That borders on sacrilege. That's like me saying I've never been to Disney World. @@NearFromHome
Don't worry! I live here and don't drink either but I still love going to the beergarden. You can drink our typical Spezi or sparkling apple juice.
Zero problemo! Every Munich brewery and Biergarten offers alcohol-free beer, though in some places you may need to ask for it. You’ll fit right in. I find the alkoholfrei Weißbier rather tasty.
We went to Hofbräukeller, looking for ya! No luck!
Aww man. That is a pretty good bet though!
Well, my feedback is that
I looked up recipes for
vegane Semmelknödeln and
vegane Sellerie Schnitzel
So as a food tour it was great
it inspired me.
My experience of Munich eating
was finding a vegan restaurant
that served something other than american style burgers
which sadly seems to be the trendy thing.
I would be interested in you and your wife
exploring ethnic restaurants
in Munich as a tour idea.
That has been our experience with vegan and vegetarian restaurants as well. 😓 Honestly, I've found the non-Bavarian food scene to be really lacking, but we have managed to find a couple of good foreign restaurants.
Love them all. Try out Faun restaurant. Deutsche Eiche restaurant. Und augustiner. Mein lieblings. Thanks for the great videos
I got it Faun all the time! Love it
Na toll……jetzt hab ich Hunger……😵💫👋
🥰😅🥰
Great video. Do they have menus in English?
Almost always! If not, the waiters are very nice and speak excellent English.
Dude, munich tourist office should pay you big time for this great advertisement! Nice Video ;) All the best from Dachau ;)
12:20 Bruder, als Österreicher bricht es mir immer wieder das Herz wenn ich Sauce zum Schnitzel sehe. Sauce zum Schnitzel gehört verboten!!! Erlaubt sind nur Preiselbeeren!! ;)
Lol, I’m starting to think that as well 🧐
Es ist eine neue Tradition!! 😎
