Maybe not that brutal if you shut down the speakers ? With BMW, you never really know what sound you're really listening to.

@@marko1216 That's what most owners say. Until they find out it does. Active Sound Design, that's the name of the thing. I've driven a 228i which has that thing. I know the 235i has it too. It would be surprising not to have that on the 230i as well.
The sound comes from the speakers I own a 228i m sport the car is much quieter from outside
@@GBO76 I own the cabriolet version.. and when i having the Roof down i can hear the outside exhaust. Even reving it You can hear its quite loud If You compare to a normal car.
My 230i doesn't have the fake sound generator. It's a 2016 built, UK (right hand drive) with manual gearbox. The engine sound in the video sounds about the same as mine.
The tach looks like a game and the sound aswell with wind sound effects

I have one, in Seaside Blue. Great car. You're fortunate to have the Autoahn. The top speed limit in the US is around 135 kmh.

How has maintenance and reliability been?
@@SkateHoarder Except for the occasional recall, it's great. Just an oil change every so often. Mine only has 45k miles, though.

Yea and i think the best sounding 4 cylinder in N20 engine (it sounds a bit like 6 cylinders when full throtle)
best sounding 4 cylinder is the 45 AMG, never heard a 4cyl sounding better
heard something similar in an s3.... i would deaktivate all this.

What is difference between 228i and 230i ?
Waseem Khan the 230i is basically a LCI of the 228i. Comes with a new engine, some parts of the interior, idrive, and some exterior changes too.

228 - engine N20, 230 - engine B20; different engines
You mean B48.
It is the "facelift model" with a modified engine. 228i 2013 n20b20, 230i 2017 b48b20, both 2 liter twin power turbo ;) the b48 engine has a bit lower fuel consumption :D tuned my 228i only with Software to 295hp / 450nm 😄 runs 270km/h with the 8gear sport automatic gearbox on German autobahn 😁👌

Might just be me but the older interiors on the f22 look slightly better. Silver trim on the dash looks out of place.
I actually like the silver trim. Especially the golf ball like feel to it.
