The Borla catback is an excellent choice for the BRZ owner who wants a subtle increase of exhaust sound while keeping things quiet on the highway or while cruising.
@Bry Zeer as if people already dont know that... come on bro you couldnt tell me you know nothing about cars any more that what youve said. no shit people already know its slow but look how many people grabbed the first gen, and that was REALLY SLOW, but unlike you, people with actual intelligence know there is far more to a car than just being "fast." i dont even want to dive into it deeper because i think im already at your limit of informational absorbance. i pray for you dear child
Forever hearing Mazdaspeed3 but my 6 sounds even better (maybe just to do with slightly different exhaust pipe lengths etc.) But yes, your comment still stands, agree!
Do the exhaust tips centre properly in the stock bumper cutouts or are there fitment issues? Seems like others have installed this on the 2022 GR86 without issues. Sounds great.
I have the same exhaust on my ‘22 BRZ. Fits perfect and sounds great! Loudish when you want it and nearly stock when just cruising. Borla did an awesome job. Great video! Captures the sounds perfectly!
Does it happen to have any pops at any RPM? Just find it fun to play around with it a little. Just got a new GR and looking for a clean non drone filled cabkn
I went on their website and they state it doesn't fit a 2022 BRZ (what I've got) but then most other companies say the same thing even though everyone seems to have no issues putting it on. When you put on our exhaust, did you have to alter anything or did it fit right on? I really like the sound of the car.....
I have the same car. 22 ice silver limited 6mt. Just put my borla catback on today. I love it. Its the perfect combination of loud when you want it and quiet when you dont. I can get some pretty good pops and crackles on downshifts too. I have mixed feelings about the "fake sound". I hated it with the stock exhaust because you could totally tell it was fake. I tried the borla with the fake sound on and off. I like the sound of just the real exhaust but then you hear the sound of the engine from in the cabin as well. And in the high RPM it doesnt sound great. I think I actually prefer to keep the fake sound still on along with the borla.
I didn't mind it much either way, but I thought having it disconnected quieted the cabin even more when cruising, but still had some sound when getting on it. I think once tuning is available, it should sound better with headers.
@@saiadventures1353 Sounds like stock cruising at any speed. Only when I give it some throttle does it growl. Nice pops and crackles on downshifts too.
@@finnster321 I did not. My buddy has one that is pretty heavily modded and thats the only other one I have ever driven. Bone stock my car is faster than his with full bolt ons and an e85 tune. I think the car handles amazing. Honestly still not what I would call "fast" but I have been spoiled with high power cars
Previous gen headers fit too! Pretty much the entire exhaust system from the first gen will fit. Making me pretty thankful I kept everything from my TRD SE.
' I was hoping it was more of a S2000 3.0 sound' - wtf, how are you expecting a 2.4 litre car to sound like a 3 litre car? Get real. Also if you wanted this new 2.4 litre to rev as high as the S2000, it would've still had the anemic torque that the 2.0 had. Its called making compromises.
@@smilepermile8165 As in version 3.0. The S2000 came as a 2 liter that rev'd to 9k and a 2.2 liter that rev'd to 8.4k.....and this engine is a 2.4 liter that out rev's to 7400. The torque is anemic for for both cars.

Sounds really good!
The exhaust is 2013-2020 Subaru BRZ Cat-Back Exhaust System S-Type Part # 140496? Correct?
That's the one. 👍
@@cuban_driver thanks!
@@cuban_driver Did it just fit or did you have to mod it a little to make it fit? I'm being told by Borla that it doesn't fit?
Sounds really good without the fake engine noise.
Borla always makes such great exhausts. Can’t wait to get this for my GR86!
@Bry Zeer Get some help
@Bry Zeer I'm trying my man!

@Bry Zeer Says the insecure kid who can't afford to go to a racetrack and afford track tuition to appreciate the benefits of lightweight RWD cars 🤣
Best sounding exhaust so far
This sounds clean, we can now add the gr86 to the small list of good 4cyl exhaust sounds right there with the STI, s2k, Mazda speed 3, and others.
Forever hearing Mazdaspeed3 but my 6 sounds even better (maybe just to do with slightly different exhaust pipe lengths etc.) But yes, your comment still stands, agree!
Sounds so much better than last gen
Sounds really refined. Not too loud.
17k views and I’m probably 500 of them. Love this sound, already ordered mine. Gotta wait 2 weeks till by 86 arrived.
I would have liked it if you did a segment that was just a steady speed highway run so we can gage the drone. Also those are some nice driving roads

I'm keeping mine stock, but that does very good.

It’s looks nice in that color
Sounds great!
Oye, esta buena esa carretera asere, en que parte del país estas? Gracias
Did you do away with the fake exhaust into the cabin?…ok, I see now the 2nd part has the fake disconnected…thank you, much better inside!
Sounds amazing good job man
@Cuban Driver Is this the exhaust the GR86 SPECIAL EDITION will have?
Thanks for the clips; mind sharing the setup for the blendmount (?) and mirror tap (?) not sure what gauge is correct on the blendmount site.
Did a little write up with the parts I used here: www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=148525
holy crap it sounds way too loud inside, but then you removed the speaker.. nice
the sound inside was so loud because the microphone was in the bumper

Bro did it fit easily? Is it from last gen or is it for 2022 BRZ? Sounds 👏
Same part number, most catbacks from the previous generation fit the newer cars. Install took about an hour, very easy.
Thanks man :)
Man i want this car
Get it bro I’ve waited two years for this car and it’s getting delivered Monday hopefully 🤞
This is the one
How’s highway drone?
Can’t decide between this and the magnaflow
So other than a new header, I can basically take the complete exhaust system from 2015 BRZ and put it on 2022?
Previous gen headers fit too! Pretty much the entire exhaust system from the first gen will fit. Making me pretty thankful I kept everything from my TRD SE.
Texas hill country?
Any fitment issues ?
How is the drone?
How much cash did that cost?
How much was the cost?
What’s the part number for the 22 GR86
What color is this brz?
Actually sounds clean and not raspy ..
Is this Lime Creek Road?! If so hit me up I got a GR86
Nice! Traded in the BRZ unfortunately.
All it needs are uel borla headers
This should also fit the gr86 correct?
Correct.
much better without the fake sound
Just kinda weak. I love the car, but I was hoping it was more of a S2000 3.0 sound. Just never rev's high enough to get angry.
