I really like how they use different balls that reflect their personalities. Eri uses Heal Balls because she's nurturing Mela uses Quick Balls because she's impatient Ortega the rich kid uses Luxury Balls Giacomo, a scrupulous musician, uses Timer Balls Atticus uses Repeat Balls because he's a bit obsessed with that historical life
Also, notice that Team Star makes liberal use of Revavroom (who's part-Poison) to power their Starmobiles. Maybe Atticus's Repeat Balls signify that he was the one catching all those living engines?

Additionally, fairy types usually evolve with high friendship iirc, so Ortega using Luxury Balls makes sense because they increase friendship upon catching with one

But beyond that, they double as a wildlife sanctuary and a research facility. *Team Yell:* A bunch of Marnie superfans trying to get Spikemuth back in the spotlight. *Macros Cosmos:* A corporate entity with some underhanded means to try and fix the energy crisis. *Team Star:* Students who had gone rogue due to the rampant bullying issues they had to deal with.
Team Skull had a similar story to Star. They were outcasts, some cause of failing the island challenge, some for other reasons, Guzma founded the team to... Well, he didn't really had a clear goal but just causing troublevas a revenge. All cause he didn't become a bug type trial captain.
Aether foundation is overall good but their president, Lusamine lost her husband during some reseaarch/experiment with Ultra Wormholes. Since then she tried to ind him but got attacked by Nihilego and started to get obsessed with beauty and the Ultra Beasts, hurting her family in the process.
Team Star was legitimately my favorite part of the game. I'm a sucker for misfit found families and the writing for the storyline was so dang endearing
I kinda understand team star's boss behaviour and way of thinking. Sometimes you cannot feel good within the school atmosphere, maybe because something bad happened to you or because you're not accepted by others, and these moments can really change someone's personality, and thus making negative traits in your behaviour. However the reason why someone is mean is just because he wants to hide his weaknesses and not being bullied again. And the fact that every boss leaves the team after their battle means that they're now ready to start again, this time in a better way.😊

Eri is my favorite Team Star Boss because of her caring and nurturing personality. Besides that I also like the way she dresses and the face paint that she uses as well as her combat stance and sticker photo shoot.
Also, as best I can tell… she’s the only member of any “villainous team” in the franchise to bring out a Lucario. Lucario and Riolu are innately moral creatures. The likes of Team Galactic, Plasma, and Flare would make them nauseous. But one isn’t bothered at all by the cause of Team Star… because it’s not nearly as heinous.
I like that all of their cards show how they respect you after their loss, while also reflecting their character. Giacomo has a casual handshake Mela has a painful handshake because she's tough, but she has a semi-friendly smile Atticus bows because he's fancy Ortega is also fancy, but just sticks to reflecting that with a handshake Eri does the "epic handshake" which is seen as a tough and masculine
I struggled with Atticus (had no idea he was THAT overleveled for where I was) and Ortega with the level 50s (had no idea he was THAT overleveled for where I was) and luckily Ortega and Eri are pretty close in power level
Even when I complete the gym battles (in proper order), became a rank champion (along with a "final" battle with Nemona), defeat titan pokémon (in proper order), battle Arven (a second time), and face other Team Star bosses, Emi gives me the run for my money. And I nearly lost for that. 😊
I love the subtle characterization in thier choice of pokeballs. Giacomo: Timer balls. Could be a sign of him becoming calmer and more patient since his student council days. Mela: Quick balls. Symbolizes her impatience and short temper. Atticus: Repeat balls. Referencing the shadow clone ninja trope. Ortega: Luxury balls. A sign of his wealth. Given how luxury balls work, it could also mean that he has a deep connection with his pokemon. Eri: Heal balls. Emphasizes her caring and protective nature.
I figured Team Star wouldn't be as threatening as the other organizations we had in older games, but this was still good. To think they made a team that had relatable characters is impressive. We haven't had flashbacks of the characters since Black and White. I still think the Starmobile should've exploded for more effect.
The last evil organization who was actually a threat was Flare. Lysandre wanted to use an ancient weapon for mass genocide that would also make him immortal. X and Y were also the last games who actually had something really evil inside of it besides the true final boss of Legends Arceus.

Two things. -Clive's jawdrop and sound effect when Cassiopeia revealed she was the Boss was priceless. Been a while since I laughed so hard. -I have only played generation 3 and 4 games, so I don't know how the previous games were in that aspect, but the soundtrack for the Boss battoes here? My god, they were incredible! More than the design change, the animation, the greater interaction and reaction, it's the music what I loved the most from this video. And the plot... it's refreshing after how repetitive the first games were in that aspect.
Quick summary then. B/W really started to elevate pokemon music, Ghetsis's theme was a little bit weaker (still solid) due to the limitations of the hardware having a hard time replicating the genre of the track. B2/W2 has all-round better themes with ease, Ghetsis's theme got remixed into a style that fits the hardware so much better, also as a side note, the grunt theme is amazing. Gen 6 has solid evil team tracks, even though only 2 battle themes. Lysandre's theme is decent despite being a more epic grunt theme, although it does miss something. Gen 7 with team skull.... It is team skull their music fits it is just pure streetgang stuff it works. If you want to count the other baddies, their themes are fine as well. USUM had Team Rainbow Rocket, and darn all those boss remixes are really good, as well as Giovanni's first ever unique theme. Gen 8, hm, Team Yell has a pretty weak grunt theme, but the leader and 'admin' are good. The other antagonistic force... Not all of the tracks fitted really well, I suppose it does sound kind of cool, but also weird.

The point of Misty Terrain is to use Steel Roller, which fails if there’s no terrain. It’s not like the reduce in power to Dragon Moves would have helped it that much, and the status immunity is somewhat situational
This storyline is my absolute favorite, probably in any Pokémon game. Just, all of the bosses being there for each other when nobody else was, Penny just existing (she may be my favorite character), and all of the character designs and battles!
As someone who got bullied at school to almost the point of suicide, this is probably the most accurate rappresentation of being bullied in video games, except for the school actually giving a shit and wanting to hear your side of the story, the staff at my school gave the least amount of caring possible, they knew i was getting bullied, but i only remember one time when they tried to help me, and it was just "i told you not to go in there because there was (insert bully name here)" my bully never got a goddam punishment, me on the other hand? Oh boy... Edit: for those wondering, yup im fine now, the only thing i regret rn is to not have slammed the biggest book i had on that bastard's skull.
Yeah schools are HORRIBLE at handling this stuff. It's part of why I was terrified to tell them about something horrible one of the other students did to me. @@hunterhq295 The professors are actual psychos though, they literally didn't really care that much about the dangers of paradox pokemons being brought into the current timeline and how it affects the ecology in Paldea. They also didn't even acknowledge their son, referring to "the boy" in their diaries. The robots are literally way more humane than their actual persons.
I made a mistake thinking that I had to fight Mela first probably because I saw her first in the trailer along with the grass gym leader and the rock crab titan,and also because she was closest to them but despite being quite under level I managed to defeat her , but barely, and only because of my revives and potions and also because I keep lowering her pokemon accuracy .

Grass starter was best for 1st while it could've used the dark to resist and spam seed bomb Against mela flash fire was a smart start but should have spammed nightshade then terra the water starter for boosted super effective moves.
She is there. She just disappears for a second so her model wouldn't disrupt the Starmobile's attack animation. This has been a thing for few generations now where during a battle the trainer (or an ally Pokémon in double battles) disappears
Maybe not "so much", but definitely better - with the games having the best plot since Unova, in my opinion (and maybe better than Unova, I can't decide). But, knowing the fandom, a large part of it will straight-up complain and moan, and throw other very pointless (and stupid) insults, especially towards VAs.

When we first encounter team star at the academy, i was like : pff, an other stupid antagonist team like team yell. But when you fight all team star bosses and penny at the end and look at the flashbacks, it instantly become my favorite quest of the game.
I decided to battle the fire type one last in my main playthrough and Then I realized that the more badges I have doesn't increase the power of who I battle next

When I played the game for the first time I thought it was gonna be another dumb version of team rocket, galactic, flare, and more. But when I got into the story I feel a little sympathy. Then I completed the story and realized they were just a group of kids that wanted to get back at the people who bullied them and then I started to shed a tear. Eri I hate this fight. 1) WAY TOO HIGH LEVELED 2) Amazing roster with amazing coverage 3) Close Combat. 4) Shift Gear + Stamina = Suffering
This may be a really weird opinion.. Easiest to hardest: 5. Giacomo - Due to being the easiest leader, he ended up being the easiest 4. Ortega - Even without a Revavroom of my own, he somehow was still easy 3. Eri - Swept her with Skeledirge, although me being properly leveled probably helped with that 2. Atticus - Wasn't that hard, but got defaulted here due to being harder than the previous three 1. Mela - Surprising choice. Mela was somehow the hardest leader for me
You used Chansey spawns to get stronger? All I did was battle trainers, tera raids, and did the midterms and finals. After all of that, my pokemon got up to level 81 each.
@sahih hawkins that method mostly works if you use just one team, I was still working out my team at the time cuz obviously, I wanna use new pokemon and I want to level them up faster with a lucky egg you get somewhere.

When i fought Eri i was sweepin through her team like crazy with my armorouge, but then annihalape came.... He singlehandedly knocked out 5 of my team members, AND THEN IT DIED BY POISON DAMAGE. Revavroom then took my pooper out and them defeated her on the second try

NOTE: Every Revavroom that's Team Star uses as Starmobile has abilities that aren't more common than Revavrooms you've caught and raised.
And i think regular Revavroom is a poison steel type(?) While the starmobiles were the types of the respective crews

-I have only played generation 3 and 4 games, so I don't know how the previous games were in that aspect, but the soundtrack for the Boss battoes here? My god, they were incredible! More than the design change, the animation, the greater interaction and reaction, it's the music what I loved the most from this video. And the plot... it's refreshing after how repetitive the first games were in that aspect.
Quick summary then.
B/W really started to elevate pokemon music, Ghetsis's theme was a little bit weaker (still solid) due to the limitations of the hardware having a hard time replicating the genre of the track.
B2/W2 has all-round better themes with ease, Ghetsis's theme got remixed into a style that fits the hardware so much better, also as a side note, the grunt theme is amazing.
Gen 6 has solid evil team tracks, even though only 2 battle themes. Lysandre's theme is decent despite being a more epic grunt theme, although it does miss something.
Gen 7 with team skull.... It is team skull their music fits it is just pure streetgang stuff it works. If you want to count the other baddies, their themes are fine as well.
USUM had Team Rainbow Rocket, and darn all those boss remixes are really good, as well as Giovanni's first ever unique theme.
Gen 8, hm, Team Yell has a pretty weak grunt theme, but the leader and 'admin' are good. The other antagonistic force... Not all of the tracks fitted really well, I suppose it does sound kind of cool, but also weird.

This side story was really nice and heartwarming. I loved it, and I love all the characters.
This storyline is my absolute favorite, probably in any Pokémon game. Just, all of the bosses being there for each other when nobody else was, Penny just existing (she may be my favorite character), and all of the character designs and battles!
As someone who got bullied at school to almost the point of suicide, this is probably the most accurate rappresentation of being bullied in video games, except for the school actually giving a shit and wanting to hear your side of the story, the staff at my school gave the least amount of caring possible, they knew i was getting bullied, but i only remember one time when they tried to help me, and it was just "i told you not to go in there because there was (insert bully name here)" my bully never got a goddam punishment, me on the other hand? Oh boy...
Edit: for those wondering, yup im fine now, the only thing i regret rn is to not have slammed the biggest book i had on that bastard's skull.
Yeah schools are HORRIBLE at handling this stuff. It's part of why I was terrified to tell them about something horrible one of the other students did to me. Still haven't told yet (I'm still in high school) and probably won't ever since I have even lesser chances of being believed anyway. I hope you're doing better now by the way (:

The player lacked battle skills. Late terras and ignored some type matchups.
Grass starter was best for 1st while it could've used the dark to resist and spam seed bomb
Against mela flash fire was a smart start but should have spammed nightshade then terra the water starter for boosted super effective moves.

When I played the game for the first time I thought it was gonna be another dumb version of team rocket, galactic, flare, and more. But when I got into the story I feel a little sympathy. Then I completed the story and realized they were just a group of kids that wanted to get back at the people who bullied them and then I started to shed a tear. This has got to be the saddest team created of Pokémon history.

Ortega is the easiest cuz there's a very convenient spot nearby where Chansey's spawn, everyone knows Chanseys give a lot of exp.

You used Chansey spawns to get stronger? All I did was battle trainers, tera raids, and did the midterms and finals. After all of that, my pokemon got up to level 81 each.
@sahih hawkins that method mostly works if you use just one team, I was still working out my team at the time cuz obviously, I wanna use new pokemon and I want to level them up faster with a lucky egg you get somewhere.
