@@corneliali7747 Idk if they edited it out, but it seems they ignored most of the VHS tapes and notes laying around. For example, there is lore in Eliot Ludwig's office (the one with the red door at the beginning), they explain he lost someone close (I believe it was his daughter) and that he's experimenting with small animals and poppy flowers to (iirc) resurrect the dead. There are also a lot of notes that indicate that they are testing children to match them with specific toys so they are (presumably) used to make the toy feel alive by somehow transforming them into the toys. So yeah, Shane got it with almost no information.
@@ItsJustValHere if i had a nickel for every cartoony styled game that had lore about souls being stuffed into cartoon characters, this would be the third nickel that i know of. So its not exactly hard to guess.

30:00 kinda sad the boys didnt mess with the VHS tapes to much, especially the blue one in this section since Jacksepticeye is featured in it and its a fun little easter egg! maybe if they play it again on their own later they can explore that avenue too! the story is a good one to learn about for sure in this game!

watching shane and ryan play games like this is always so interesting to me because of their lack of game literacy. mechanics that seem obvious to people who play a lot of games (watching the tapes and grabbing the collectables) don’t occur to them. i love to see how the way different people interact with media is so informed by their background

This feels exactly like what would happen if one of their investigations actually ended with them finding some paranormal stuff. Wit a lot more screaming from Ryan, of course. Also, since the Professor and Huggy Wuggy are both fuzzy and blue, and the Professor raises spiders for food like chickens, Do you think Huggy Wuggy would eat Mommy Long Legs? Just a theory I've had in my head this entire episode.
I’m realizing that Shane is actually a pretty big fan of horror movies, he’s always correctly referencing them!
Omg Ryan's reaction when they finally complete the Huggy whack a mole in the tunnel challenge was so funny. He looked so genuinely stressed out. Like doctor that just finished an extremely difficult heart surgery.
I always say huggy was much scarier, and people say I'm biased but honestly. He just is. Hopefully he returns in chapter 3. Mommy is a great design and well-voiced character though!

The great thing about that commercial is how nostalgic it feels without it being real. The toy is a play on the toy Betty Spaghetti which I do remember commercials for. And the commercial fits the time period so well that you wouldn't be able to tell it wasn't a real commercial if lined up with others.
