Love Kasse because he is so humble. He is always giving credit to everyone else and admits to having had lucky breaks. Some people out there like to claim that it was all them and they are the complete reason for their success and it is nice to see someone who knows their stuff but who also gives credit to others. It's got to be awesome to work in his shop.
Don't let anyone tell you what will not work. That's a very true statement. Lots of people will tell you what you can't do but what they are really saying is what they can't do.
At one time, the fastest car in my hometown was the same thing. A 64 tri powered goat until the 69 hemi showed up. Lot's of small block vegas. One big block vega until the frame twisted. I miss those cruise weekend's and car hopping before I could drive. Kaase is a genius and I'm from Sonny Leonard land.
I wish we had compeative Fords in Pro Stock these days. I thought the Quadry brothers were running strong Fords, but it turns out they are actually Camaros in disguise. I miss the days of all four manufactures running in pro stock. Ford. GM, Mopar AMC.
I had signs of oil on my intake runner floors on the last tear down, i had no clue where it was coming from.....evac tubes off of my valve covers were sucking oil and reverting back up the tubes i assume? I appreciate the shared knowledge! Thank you. P.S. - I will be cleaning my headers before racing from now on haha
I have a question for you guy I have a 1991 sho engine the bore is 89 mm but I want to get it at 95mm so my question is can we take out the hold liner and replace it with a wet sleeve to give me that 95 mm?
I have a coyote motor with stainless headers on it that might’ve been started up with a rusty x pipe. Could that have created some of the exhaust I’m seeing or does this pertain to just carbureted engines?
Yes, we are moving all of the old episodes over to this new channel, so we are bringing one “best of” episode every other week and a new episode on the alternate week.
The 64' GTO 4 speed would have been a Muncie M20 (wide ratio) or M21 (close ratio). They were relatively quiet transmissions.. It wasn't until 1967 that the M22 became available on select big block cars and with it's 20 degree (less steep) internal gear helix angle, this transmission was noisy with very noticeable gear whine in every gear. John would have really been impressed with the noise in that 64' GTO back in 64 if it had an M22. I have to disagree with John when he stated those old Muncie's were whiney and noisey and had "garbage" rolling around inside. The M20 and M21 of the era 63-67 were quiet..GM used the M20 and M21 from 1963-1974 and the M22 from 1967-1974. The later M22 now was very noisey.
@TotalSeal hey Lake, im trying to get more involved/submersed in engine building/tuning, and I wanted to ask you if i could email you or contact me through the phone? Thanks for everything you do!
Understandable-is *BUT* Lake Speed Jr is rightfully über-respected. Enthusiastic sharing of knowledge in an excited yet mature fashion. Ask Mr. Joe Gibbs re: "the irritating guy on the left". 👍🏼
That is Lake Speed. He is the definition of FUCKING LOVING what you do. I would say he has a different approach for the podcast myself, but he is a master of his craft.
Jon Kasse and Bob Glidden....hero builders! 😎
Absolutely!

Well said!
Lots of interesting info from BBF king. The rust inside the header has me freaked out lol
Right?

Both of those guys are legends
Awesome Series Joe..!
Thanks!
Jon and Leonard Wood share a lot of traits and talents.
What a great engine builder, machineist, businessman. Westlake high-school most famous graduate.
Love to see some of these shows on location at their shop. Would be able to see the creativity first hand.
That's a great idea!

LOL Dave Crower asked if I wanted to post a number or outrun everything...
in the right car a 100 horse Kaase ford engine would be sweeet
Just think how much water is pulled back through the engine on a marine application!
I sure hope john builds 1 of the new 3 cylinder ford engine tune it all up small ones are just as much fun
Bill Rolf on center ridge? I think he balanced stuff for me.
Very educational thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Glad it was helpful!

Hi John! Went to Westlake high with you and Gary Box. ‘72 for me.
Why did the engine masters decide to put things to rest for awhile ?

It pertains to all engines
i like how he says folks can't live on $200 a week... and some folks still out here trying...

Isn’t this a replay?

Is this a stolen video? I see the channel has links to the right places, just curious. If this is the real deal, I'll subscribe immediately.
It's the real deal. We created a new channel just for the Hidden Horsepower podcast.
@@TotalSeal awesome, good to hear! can't wait to see what y'all do next!

Thank you for your knowledge and videos USA TRUMP
Well Well, rusty headers, wearing an engine more than lots of other reasons!
Why does the interviewer CONSTANTLY INTERRUPT Jon Kaase...???
Was going to say this guy almost makes this unwatchable . Who ever decides these things should realize how obnoxious he is .
I like the series although the guy on the left is irritating can’t listen to him.
That’s Lake Speed Jr. … learn to listen!

good... don't listen to him; he saved my butt and motors more than a few times. do what you do i'll pick up the trophy an the big check
Internet lore these days...there is no such thing as reversion because there is not enough time for anything to go backwards through an engine...
Jon has data that proves reversion exists.
