Great show and when I looked at the title sequence I wondered if this done before the ITV Strike in August-October 1979 and filmed after the strike as both Jenny Quayle and Stacy Dorning had much longer hair in the title sequence than when the first series was filmed.
Why do men always get the top billing? Three women, one man and yet he gets top billing. So tired of all the sexism. Most shows and movies are male centric even though women do 90% of societies spending. If executives paid attention to this fact perhaps viewership would stop declining.
I am so grateful for comedy uploads from decades past. This channel is second to none. Try to just enjoy without thinking about the billing details. You may find more joy that way.
@@IslandGirlKelly I enjoyed it very much Kelly, but I'm a teacher and I educate no matter what. I try to get people to spot sexism, racism, etc. so that they will notice and combat them which is the only way to stop them. Have a nice day.
Because when women with your worldview get what they want (top billing/replacing male characters etc.) they consider the job done and don't bother to support it thereon and it gets left to rot, Ghostbusters and 'gamergate' being two prime examples, this show is built around a guy juggling his professional/family life and what comes with raising two daughters, should I groan at Butterflies or Solo that centre around a female or does your selective radar forget such shows? With the man of the house being so trashed and belittled in entertainment for decades (Garnett, Simpson, Bundy etc. etc.) is it any wonder men in general have become so weak and pathetic from such portrayals and feminist hectoring? Has granulated this or boil in the bag fish that with taglines such as 'to make time to live your life' made women more happy in general? Having 'escaped the kitchen' (and Motherhood) has feeding cats really turned out more rewarding than feeding your own children? Has women competing in the workforce with men to the point where hardly anyone can afford to live been successful? Would you answer any of these questions honestly? I doubt it.. let's face it women live life on easymode, the genetically blessed even moreso, it's all rigged in your favour, men have few choices, we work ourselves into the grave, we can't just float around then jump into bed with a fat wallet when the eggtimer runs low or the wall gets closer, nor do we - when we decide we can no longer be arsed - take half whatever he's built for himself (and before you say it no I'm no bitter divorcee my wife is a fantastic woman with a brilliant mind), maybe think about all this the next time your bra-burning fingers get itchy..

The American adaptation is called Too Close For Comfort.

I'm just now watching the last season of Too Close for Comfort on Tubi.
As is often the case: MUCH funnier than the American "clone".
I so agree, Howard.
Great script
