I had never heard of this series until it appeared on GBT. Curious for more details I just read John's Wikipedia page, what an incredible career he had! I was surprised that even though he died in 2005, he worked up until 1997 appearance wise but appears to still have done bio and character voices until 2001.
I have never ever seen him in anything else except Corrie, it was such a joy to be able to view him in this with such a contrasting character. I wish he had appeared in more episodes, but plan to check for the other programs people mention he has appeared in.
Some comedies show the test of time and unfortunately, I think this is one of them. I grew up with ITV and BBC shows in the 70’s and 80’s before moving to America in 1983. There are a few shows that I can still watch and enjoy. An expat in Florida.
thankyou so much for this it took me back to my childhood watching with mum & dad a lovely gentle comedy and starring the legendary Sir John Mills. I really hope you have more episodes of this to share. I love your channel and there are so many great shows you have reminded me of but this is a real favourite. Thanks again.
This series was not broadcast where I live in Canada. I enjoyed watching Keeping up Appearances, Are you Being Served, and On the Busses. This is another series I can add to my favourites!

Not as many years in the workplace. Most women dropped out of the workforce once they had kids, keeping their pensions low. It was a great deterrent to divorce.
Thank you for this beautiful series 🦘🇦🇺🙏🙏🙏
Ay, it’s one of the best, innit it?
This series is great! Nice to see John Mills in action in his senior years.
