i did it the other way round, used to live in industrial town in the north east of England, ended up living on a country estate in lincolnshire that looks just like this and though its 40 years later the people who own the estate are just like this bunch. I look after 7 acres of garden for them. You must remember to tug your forelock when you encounter them. You would not believe the mad stories i have. Here's one; a pigeon got inside 'the big house' and the son chased it around with a shotgun blowing holes in the plaster work of this listed 18th century house, never got repaired, they just had me move some of the larger pieces of furniture to cover the holes. Beautiful Axeminster carpets ruined by their tiny dogs peeing in ever corner and up the sides of their antique sofa's - ah so much fun!

You'll discover that there's rather a lot to seek because not only has his music been used for TV themes other than The Upper Crusts (What The Papers Say, Rick Stein and Hard Times) he also scored somewhere in the region of 80 major films, including The Sound Barrier, Hobson's Choice, Bridge On The River Kwai, all the early St. Trinians films, Inn Of The Sixth Happiness and Whistle Down The Wind, not to mention nine symphonies, 20+ concertos, English Dances, Scottish Dances and numerous other 'serious' works. He was knighted for his achievements but he remains criminally undervalued by the British music establishment.
Yes he conducted Jon Lord's Concerto For Group And Orchestra featuring Deep Purple and the RPO at the Royal Albert Hall in 1969, an event not only recorded for a hit album but also filmed for TV. The whole concerto can now be seen on RUclips featuring a very avuncular looking Malcolm Arnold on the rostrum and a more than slightly bemused looking Deep Purple. It's all very 1960s and it's fascinating seeing the audience's ultimately very enthusiastic reaction to the unlikely combination of musicians on the stage.
Lalla Ward was married to Tom Baker for a while. She was not the Drs assistant as such. She was in fact Romana who was a female Time Lord in her own right.

According to IMDb, she was born Sarah Jill Ward, a daughter of Edward Ward, the 7th Viscount Bangor and his fourth wife, the writer Marjorie Banks - so she'd fit right in here. Another instance in this episode, as if any more were needed, of police's naturally abject subservience to the upper class (see Dorothy Sayers' Lord Wimsey for further evidence).
