LEMON SYRUP RECIPE
1 C sugar
1/2 C water
zest of 1 lemon
1/4 C fresh lemon juice
bring to a boil the sugar, water and zest
add the fresh lemon juice
strain and serve

I will most definitely try this. I never tasted lemon syrup.
Tried this today and used it to flavor some homemade yoghurt… so dee-lish😋
I paused this to go make some delicious lemon syrup. I poked holes in three banana breads I made and brushed on the delicious syrup ( no matter how vigorously I follow instructions, my b bread is a dry crust. The breads look beautiful moist in and out and enhanced the flavor. I soaked raisins in Mango booze added sour cream corn starch (less AP flour) added walnuts chinese five spices eggs the usual and it all came out delicious I love lemons maybe cause my DNA being Greek demands it./

I request a clarification from you. Can i use this lemon syrup for all kind of cakes?? Or is it used for some kind only! Sorry , as i am a beginner not well versed in knowledge about baking!
Hi. Can I make this ahead of time if so how would I store?
I'd like to use in frozen Madeira cake. Do I totally defrost first or use whilst it's defrosting. Therefore should the syrup be warmed to room temp before using?
Finally how long do I leave it to soak before layering and buttercreaming?

yes you can, I refrigerate it for a few weeks just fine
let it thaw before using or it won't soak in, the syrup can be at room temp or a little chilled and work just fine, don't warm it
depending on how well it soaks in I usually layer and frost right after

i have seen maple syrup being canned and i have seen strawberry too
so thats why im asking .it looks so delicious.
You could water bath can it, but I wouldn't pressure can it.
What I'd do if I'd make lemon syrup is:
1. Grab your nearest glass jar
2. Grab sugar and pour a layer in the jar
3. Grab a lemon slice and put it on the sugar layer
4. Repeat 2 and 3 until the jar is full
5. Pour a little water
Because the lemon juice and the water absorbs the sugar and the liquids mix, you get a nice sugar lemon syrup for your tea :D

How much corn syrup should I add for stability, and if I use lime juice, does the sugar amount stay the same?
I am not sure exactly how much corn syrup I would use, It might take a few tires to get the exact measurement. If you use lime juice just use the same sugar amount!
I added 4 oz of corn syrup to the recipe. Tastes and looks good.
Do you think you could use this syrup with a soda stream for homemade lemonade?
Ik this is a year ago but this is kinda dumb, lemonade isn’t carbonated

Does it crystalize without the addition of corn syrup, which is an "inverted sugar."
adding corn syrup totally helps keep it from crystallizing - it depends on how long you are keeping it - I make it fresh and use it right away so it's not necessary - but if your making a large batch and wanting to keep it I'd recommend it
