- With all the releases we offer, you're going to have slightly different impact points with each of them. In this video, I describe those impact points, what you can expect and the science behind why that happens. I also go over how to mitigate these issues.

When I learned back tension style archery I learned from a pro at my archery club. At the time I was using a hunting style trigger release and he taught me you can use back tension even with a trigger release. It's a matter of getting set to a pre-release point and then using back tension to finish then movement and get the surprise release. I moved away from a trigger release and have shot pretty much back tension releases only since then. Great advice and explanation !!
Hello John this is my second compound bow. I’m having trouble getting comfortable.the pro shop fitted me at 29 draw. And I was shooting a cb3 claw wrist strap. On my second bow I bought the measurements was a 31 in I could shoot it but was sore. After ward . And I purchased your green knock 2It release. I’m m 6 foot 1 . I’m trying to get that look you have or the I noticed the knock is at the corner of your eyes full draw please help if you can thanks.
Any further variation with the 2Smooth? I love my Nock2It and have gotten tons of practice in with the shot trainer on my lunch breaks every day.
I dry fired my bow yesterday while attempting to watch my kids and practice. Never thought it would happen to me.
Thanks for the explanation!
You told me this video was coming and I've been patiently waiting. Thanks, John! I hope we see you at the Big Sky TAC.
I have 2 strap releases, one with a hook and the other with a pliers type using which the arrow flies 20 cm to the right from 50 m. Athletes rarely use such releases, I noticed while watching the competitions that they have a string sunk deep into the cheek. They say that they feel which part of the pliers-type release the d-loop comes off, maybe that's why they bend the string through the cheek or something.
This is exactly what I realized too. I was shooting my Nock2It differently than my silverback. Love the videos Dudley!
Jon, using my backstrap over a handhelp or other wrist strap gives me an awful nock right tear. So bad i cant fix it with the rest. However, i can get a pefect tear without changing anything but the release. What could this be?
I keep my old Carter Quickie Plus as my backup and use the Wise Choice for my go to release. To 40 yards my POI doesn’t change when using either. I do not make “ static” type release shots. I do a full pull thru shot staying hard in the pull until it breaks. I do not move either my thumb or index finger. The trigger release is setup short so my index finger is hooked deeply over the trigger. Both have zero travel with a slightly heavy tension setting. This helps force me to stay into the shot cycle and maintain form. My test target is not a dot but 1/2” wide blue painters tape. Circles can be misleading in that there’s a diameter of the dot, usually a 3-4” dot for most target bags at 40 yards. Hitting consistently high or low, left or right isn’t giving you true sight settings. The 1/2” wide tape will give you better feedback. Anyway, that’s the way I maintain consistency in my sight and shooting form. Try the tape versus a circle or dot. Get your elevation marks first starting at 20 etc. Then put a vertical tape on the target and get exact windage marks starting at 20. You should have as perfect a sight setting as possible this way. Just saying this works
Noticed the same with my Onnex Clicker and Stan Axis. I realized that the hooks open the opposite way and that was causing the left/right differences.
I found this out between your wrist strap vs my thumb release. I thought something was wrong with my bow, then with me but it came down to the direction of the opening, and anchor point.
Got my nock2 it 3 weeks ago and i love it. I'm shooting about 50 arrows a day so i could get use to it, last week i went to an open 3d shoot and i used it and i improve a lot from the other shoot i did 2 weeks prior.
Love my silverback!! My scores have increased, every shot is a surprise.
The second release was quieter
Great info John. Thank you!
What I really like about the Silverback is it highlights any form or execution breakdown. When I do everything correctly, the Nock 2 It and Silverback hit in the same spot and perform identically. Throw both of them in your pocket, and randomly pull out one for each end... it's a fun and a learning opportunity.
I bought the Silverback, I practiced with a practice string. Pulled it an easy 150 practice shots. I shot a 24 arrows with the bow. About 25 to 30 shots can’t remember but, the next shot it caught and exploded my diamond compound bow. I’m not trying to give anyone grief as I was when I called the company to get some insight on this matter. Was it me? Was it the silverback? Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this. Bought a new bow. Don’t use the silver back until I can get an answer.
What do you mean it caught?
Were you pulling way too hard when you were at full draw?? If your are pulling way too hard and have your thumb on the safety, you can break your bow. But what do you mean it “caught”
It's not the release
This is the dumbest question I've ever seen... how would it be the release fault?
@@lkoehn9727 no questions are dumb man. Hope you don’t have kids and tell them that lol but I think this person is from another country because some what he said isn’t making sense
