I think this show has to go up there with one of the best drumbreaks in all of DCI history.

Saw this show live and it was brilliant!!!!!! Not to mention the breakneck pace the Cadets go at in the end was phenomenal!!! Great performance. Great reaction. Thank you once again.

So our oldest marched DCI for 3 years (not Cadets) but this is my go-to show for introducing people to the activity. Easy concept, perfect design, and flawless execution. Great stuff!!

I highly recommend going on the dci website and seeing if there are any shows in your area this coming season. If so, you should absolutely get a ticket and see some of these guys live. Videos just don't do them justice for how physically powerful they are. They push, on average, between 100 and 120 decibels. Which is LOUD.
It's mental. Sit as close to the 50 as possible, and sit relatively high up. You get the physical power of the hornline, while seeing all of the visuals. I've already got tickets to the show in my town in late July. You should absolutely go!
If not, get tickets for the tour premier that is livestreamed to theaters. You'll get to see the first performances of the competitive season.

@@stevenwest4338 aw I wasn't even aware. But hey, I've seen drum corps videos from Thailand too! It's not as popular as here in the states but it definitely has a presence over there!

I feel like 2011 was a crazy year for dci. From Phantom to the Cavaliers or Carolina Crown. But to me, The Madison Scouts Show "New York Morning" was the icing on the cake. Just the overall theme and meaning was speechless towards the end. Well worth the watch.

Thank you again for the reaction my friend’. I had a feeling that you would love this show. You hit the nail right on the head when you reacted to the instant visual effectiveness the two colors on the field at the same time created. I remember seeing this show live and thinking to myself, “wow, this is brilliant and they will win the visual caption for sure and are halfway to winning the General Effect caption as well. They of course brought the entire package and won the 2011 World Championship👏👏😁. I told you that I have been holding some of my favorite shows back and while you have loved all of the shows so far, only Cadets 93, phantom regiment 2008 and Blue Devils 2015 were world champions. You can now add Cadets 2011 to that list and then on Sunday you are reaction to Carolina Crown 2013 which is their only World Champion show although they are close to the top every year. Carolina Crown 2013 is even better than the Cadets show you reacted to today. Crown 2013 show is called “E=mc*” It is probably the most difficult show ever put on the field and there are so many unexpected items that had snot been done before, their horn line, percussion and color guard are all spectacular in the same year and when you add the fact that they had come so close so many times and the crowd really really really wanted them to win. You can feel the electricity throughout the whole show from the crowd. Glad you liked it and can’t wait to see tomorrows reaction 😁👍

Oh man, I cannot WAIT to see his reaction to e=mc2. The precision of that hornline never fails to bring chills to my entire body. If I had gotten to see that show live, the brass forsure would've made me bawl like a baby.

Steven, former flautist here (JHS and HS, 1974-1980). My HS Band took a trip right before my sophomore year up to Edmonton from Ogden, Utah (Site of Corps Encore annual show for DCI), and I encountered Drum Corps groups for the first time.. I was blown away by it. 1979 Summer our band went to Kamehameha Days in Honolulu, and while ive not done that long DCI style program on a field, I have marched in the 7.5 mile parade there in Hawaii (a few other really long ones over the years) and we had to get up every saturday for months for early band stamina training to get us in shape for that parade. We were marching up and down hills to push it. LOL. I think I have a decent idea of the stamina these kids need to have to do these shows. My senior year we sent 2 of our band members off to SCV, so I have a particular love for that corps. Phantom was first actual corps I saw perform at the very first Corps Encore (1981?), and Ive always loved THAT group as well. I thank you so much for bringing this amazing entertainment to the Highly Combustible family of viewers.

@@ZakhadWOW Thank you very much for sharing your story with me on Paul’s (Highly Combustable) channel so that he and all of his followers can see how DCI and WGI both have the ability to make huge positive influences in peoples lives (and I am not just talking about those that play an instrument or spin a piece of equipment. Some people like Paul get it just by seeing a drum corp or winter guard show on video but he has the advantage of having a military background and has been able to make very accurate similarities as to the discipline, work ethic and attention to detail. Then there are people like my husband who sings and competed in show choir use to ask me first, what in the hell os this, then why are you watching this again you have already seen it and finally just asked me to watch it in another room. I then begged him to drive up to Chicago with me in 2006 for the Naperville show which I knew with Phantom Regiment and The Cavaliers both performing and knowing that they were running #1 and #2 in the rankings that year would test my theory as to what the power of attending a live. Drum Corp show can have on ANY BODY! I will never forget as we walked around the stadium while scores were you getting ready to perform him looking over at me and saying the music is much louder and more powerful live and it’s so organized everybody just seems to know exactly what they’re supposed to be doing…😂😂😂 I explained to him that drunk whore is not just about the shoes you see on the field but may be even more important the life lessons that you learn by being a member of such a group that you might not learn anywhere else! I also knew and kept it a secret that if he thought just the mellow phones from one core we’re louder than the show on TV(I didn’t have the hard to tell him it wasn’t the whole drum corp). We Then went in to watch the show and I don’t mean any disrespect when I say this but of course the first few that went on were the smaller open class corps. He looked at me a couple of times and said this is so exciting you could actually feel the music go through your body followed by is this the Cavaliers😂😂😂😂🤷‍♂️ I knew that it was time to tell him what to expect and I will never forget his facial expressions as phantom regiment and The Cavaliers Performed their 2006 masterpieces… after it was over he cried and I said why are you crying and he said because I didn’t get it and I feel so bad for not understanding why you were watching the shows at home😢😢 we then proceeded to talk about the two shows in all the different questions I didn’t hand on a 3 1/2 hour drive home to Indianapolis from Naperville❤️ To bring it down for all of Paul’s followers, If you ever get a chance to see a drum corp show live, And yes the mini Dutch fins Paul has, there is Drum Corp in the Netherlands And if you’re from the UK there is a drum core named Mayflower Who has made world class finals before. Feel the power of seeing and hearing one of these shows live and bottle it so you never forget how do you solve that moment👍❤️
