Update, turns out my low pressure EGR tube/filter was not connected to the cooler after DPF replacement. I've never had a code, but why do some cjaa engines have just a lp-egr tube and others the larger cylinder filter? And now that the EGR is reconnected the engine makes a vibration/buzzing noise at high rpm.
Hey everyone, I was wondering where the low pressure egr on these engines circulate back into? I am getting the p0401 code. I know the high pressure egr circulates from the turbo manifold on cylinder 4 to the intake, where the egr valve resides. However, I was told that the high pressure egr is not monitored for flow because its only used on warm up, then it switched to low pressure, liquid cooled egr that is monitored for flow. I know where the filter is and where the cooler is, but does it circulate into the turbo housing? Or into the charge pipe? I thought it circulated into the air box via the little flex pipe in the back but it turns out that 2 inch flex hose is a pre heater take off from the manifold for cold weather and not an egr loop. Such a long winded reply, but I'm trying to make sense of this system so I can fix it. Thanks guys and girls!
Excellent video! I had my DPF and manifold replaced about a year ago under warranty and everything has been peachy keen. However, a couple of weeks ago I got the dreaded CEL with the P2002 and P0401 codes. I suspect the EGR may be clogged - not sure if VW actually replaced the EGR/Filter/Hose when they did my DPF. Were these the same codes that you got but were unable to show due to it being on the recording phone?
@@zuperzleeper Sadly the DPF had gone Tango Uniform again, so I just traded it in for a new Mustang ecoboost during the height of high used car values (~2022). I sure do miss my TDI though, but the Mustang is a lot of fun in other ways.
@mattdeater7056 i hear ya, mine only has 130k and the emissions stuff due to dieselgate was taken car of at 80k, so Idk where to start. I'm checking if anything is gunked up but so far everything is clean I have a regen requested code but it won't regen. I think it's my thermostat being stuck open preventing it from regenning.
@@zuperzleeper Honestly if I had the money at the time I would have done a FULL DPF delete and gotten a straight pipe. I mean, I live in TX so emissions issues would not have been, well - an issue, but I was worried at the time that I might have to relocate to California for work. That would have rendered the car legally inoperable. I really REALLY regret selling though because it was such a fun little car. In some cases, more enjoyable than my mustang. I really miss the immediately available torque that comes with a diesel...
I had this code and the dpf code. The dealer said it was a bad dpf so they replaced it. Two years later the car still cuts power under hard acceleration but the codes are gone. So drive it hard on occasion to prevent clogging?
it is because of this filter that my dpf lights up on the instrument panel???
Do different TDI's have different egr vlaves? I notice mine has the egr that seems to be in the egr cooler. Shown at 3:41
Yes, I have found the usa ones are little smaller. Interchangeable. I also think the recall ones are the smaller

Some intakes have a flap, some don't!
Do you get the code P2BA6 for the EGR, I cannot find what this code does.
Thanks for this video! I also keep getting EGR codes from my Torque app (great app btw!!) on my 14 sportwagen TDI.

Great video!
Any hope for having such filter cleaned, or is the only way to get a new or at least an unclogged one?
I think you can probably ultrasonic clean it

It was an ongoing issue
how did you fix yours?

That code….? What code

Yes, to blow out the excess carbon
09 and 010 haha
